Description
The present invention relates to electrical connectors and, more particularly, a suppressor connector for an electric motor, for example of the type used on board land motor vehicles, and a method of manufacturing such a connector.
As is known, direct current electric motors with collector and brushes generate parasites in frequency ranges and with intensities which disturb the reception of radioelectric emissions received by the radio receivers which are usually fitted to land motor vehicles. Conventionally, to filter these parasites, electrical circuits are used which consist of self-inductors and capacitors, with which the electric motors are fitted and which are very often mounted on the brush holder plate of the motor.
The electronic components used and their location mean that they are bulky and annoying and that in this way they harm the reduction in the overall dimensions of the motors and increase the cost of their manufacture.
EP-A-0 363 724 décrit un connecteur antiparasité pour moteur électrique du type comprenant notamment un corps électriquement isolant dont la paroi extérieure est pourvue de passages pour des broches conductrices destinées à assurer une jonction électrique, ce corps comprenant une chambre intérieure qui est destinée à recevoir au moins un composant électronique dans laquelle pénètre au moins partiellement une partie interne des broches, au moins un orifice pour le passage d'un câble électrique destiné à assurer la jonction électrique avec la partie interne des broches, ces broches se présentant avec deux branches parallèles disposées relativement au corps de manière à avoir cette partie interne faite seulement d'une partie des branches et une partie externe faite du reste des branches, ce corps étant surmoulé sur la partie interne des broches après raccordement électrique du composant électronique destiné à occuper la chambre intérieure et du câble aux branches.EP-A-0 363 724 describes a suppressor connector for an electric motor of the type comprising in particular an electrically insulating body, the outer wall of which is provided with passages for conductive pins intended to provide an electrical connection, this body comprising an inner chamber which is intended receiving at least one electronic component into which at least partially penetrates an internal part of the pins, at least one orifice for the passage of an electric cable intended to ensure the electrical junction with the internal part of the pins, these pins being with two parallel branches arranged relative to the body so as to have this internal part made only of a part of the branches and an external part made of the rest of the branches, this body being overmolded on the internal part of the pins after electrical connection of the electronic component intended to occupy the interior chamber and the cable to the branches.
The object of the invention is to remedy the drawbacks exposed above using an improved connector which incorporates electronic components of a circuit for filtering parasites generated by the collector and the brushes of an electric motor. direct current.
To this end, the invention relates to a suppressor connector for an electric motor, of the aforementioned type, characterized in that the body comprises at least one housing which is intended to receive another electronic component and which opens on the one hand to the plumb of the internal part of one of the pins and on the other hand on the external wall of the body, and in that the body is overmolded on the internal part of the pins before insertion of the electronic component in the housing.
The subject of the invention is also a method for manufacturing a suppressor connector for an electric motor, comprising in particular an electrically insulating body, the outer wall of which is provided with passages for preferably flat metal pins intended to provide an electrical junction, of the type indicated before. This process is remarkable in that one cuts out of a metal board pins which are presented in the manner of an H with two parallel branches connected by a frangible frangible transverse bridge, one electrically connects to the same part of these two parallel branches an electronic component and an electric cable, one overmoulds on this part of the two parallel branches intended to form an internal part of the pins an electrically insulating body which forms a chamber where this electronic component is housed and an orifice for this cable and which traps this internal part leaving visible the rest of the branches and the bridge together forming an external part and which provides at least one housing which opens on the one hand directly above the internal part of one of the branches and on the other hand, on the external wall of the body, another electronic component is inserted into the housing, ensuring the electrical connection to one of these branches and the bridge is separated from the rest of the visible branches, these insertion and separation operations being able to be simultaneous or swapped.

The manufacture of electrical connectors and, in particular, those associated with direct current electric motors of the type used on board land motor vehicles being well known in the art, only what relates directly or indirectly to the invention will be described in the following. For the rest, the skilled person in the technical sector considered will draw on the current conventional solutions at his disposal to deal with the particular problems with which he is confronted.
In what follows, the same reference number always identifies the same homologous element whatever the embodiment or its variant of execution.
For the convenience of the description, each of the components of a suppressor connector according to the invention will be described successively before setting out the manufacture and, if necessary, the implementation.
As can be seen by examining in particular FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 of the drawing, a suppressor connector for an electric motor according to the invention essentially comprises a
Such a connector is intended to be electrically connected to a
The
As can be seen in the drawing, in the
The
The electrical connections of the electronic components and of the cable with the pins are ensured in any conventional conventional manner, for example by contact, welding, crimping, etc.
As can be seen, preferably, the housings open into the groove, the orifice is located on one of the faces and the passages are located on one of the sides and preferably the concave side.
To make a noise-suppressing connector according to the invention, the
This done, it is electrically connected to the same part of the two parallel branches which will constitute the internal part, an electrical component and the conductors of the cable, as illustrated. Then by any known process, the body is molded on this part of the two parallel branches which is electrically connected to the electronic component and to the cable, in an electrically insulating material so as to form a chamber in which this electronic component is housed and an orifice for the cable crossing. As we can see, this body traps the internal part of the pins and leaves visible the rest of the branches and the bridge which together form the external part while observing that during this overmolding operation the housings which open out are cleaned. on the one hand vertically to the internal part of one of the branches, and preferably of the two branches, and on the other hand to the external wall of the body. These housings are obtained in any suitable manner using movable or non-movable cores, arranged in the imprint of a mold.
This done, we insert another component electronics in each of the housings by ensuring the electrical connection to the corresponding branch located directly above the housing which opens facing it.
Next, the frangible breakable bridge is separated from the branches in order to eliminate the electric short circuit formed by this bridge between the two branches of the pins.
It is clear that the operations of inserting the components into the housings and the separation of the bridge from the branches can be simultaneous or ensured in a permuted order.
It can therefore be seen that, thanks to the invention, an anti-interference electrical connector has been manufactured which in particular solves one of the difficulties linked to the installation in particular of the capacitors which are relatively fragile and delicate to implement, and which in particular resist poorly pressure and temperature constraints that manifest themselves when the body is overmolded on the pins and the cable. In fact thanks to the invention, these electronic components are physically and electrically associated with the connector only after the overmolding operation.
As can be seen in FIG. 4, such a connector is associated with the
The electrical connection of a suppressor connector according to the invention to such a brush holder plate is made in any suitable manner, for example by plugging into a suitably adapted base, for example welding, crimping, etc.
The above clearly highlights the particular features of the invention as well as the interest it offers and the advantages it provides.
