Abstract

The drainage gutter exhibits a discharge gutter (1) which corresponds to the cross-section of the drainage duct, is in the form of a U-profile and whose lateral legs, which form the walls, are permeable with respect to water. It is provided with a covering grating (2) which is intended for the discharge gutter (1) and whose inclination can be adjusted in the longitudinal direction of the gutter. In order to simplify the adjustment of the inclination of the covering grating (2), the invention provides that at least two supports (3) are fastened on the underside of the covering grating (2). Each support (3) is provided with a standing surface (7) and is designed in two parts. The upper part (10) of the support is fastened on the covering grating (2), the lower part (9) exhibiting the standing surface (7). The two parts (9, 10) can be adjusted relative to one another between various positions, each adjustment position corresponding to a different support height. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a drainage channel according to the preamble of claim 1.

In such drainage channels of known type, the legs of the U-shaped channel are height-adjustable relative to the transverse web forming the channel bottom and have on their upper side longitudinal rails parallel to the channel, on which the cover grate is placed. Due to the adjustability of the legs, the inclination of the support rails and thus the cover grille can be changed in the longitudinal direction of the channel bottom.

This known drainage channel has the disadvantage that the adjustment screws located on the legs of the drainage channel are difficult to access for adjusting the inclination of the support rails, and that the adjustment of the cover grids is therefore laborious and expensive.

The present invention has for its object to provide a drainage channel of the type mentioned, in which the desired inclination of the grating can be set quickly and easily regardless of the installation location.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

The invention has the advantage that the support rails are omitted and the drainage channel can be carried out without disadvantage with light weight than known brands. Another advantage is that the drainage channel is easy to clean because the drainage channel has no dirt and the like. Retaining corners and the supports are easily accessible for cleaning and can also be added without tools.

The drainage channel shown in the drawing essentially has a cross-sectionally U-shaped drainage channel 1 and a cover grating 2, at the ends of which a support 3 is fastened on the underside. The cover grate 2 is of a known design and has slot-shaped openings 4 and longitudinal edges stiffened by cranking. The transverse web 5 of the U-shaped trough 1 forms the channel bottom and the adjoining, upwardly directed walls 6 forming the profile legs are perforated and water-permeable, so that water escaping from the adjacent covering case can enter the drainage channel 1 and flow off therein. The channel floor 5 is inclined against a drain pipe, whereas the cover grate 2 is aligned horizontally in accordance with the adjacent roof or terrace covering and its inclination to the drain channel 1 must therefore be adjustable. Since the inclination of the channel bottom 5 can vary, the inclination of the cover grating 2 in the longitudinal direction of the drain channel 1 must accordingly be variable. According to the invention, this is done by choosing supports 3 of different heights, preferably at the ends of the cover grate 2, which stand with a base 7 on the channel floor formed by the crosspiece 5 and are fastened to the cover grate 2 by means of a screw 8. The supports can be attached at any distance from the ends of the grating 2. It is essential that the cover grille 2 does not tip over when entering.

The design of the support 3 and its height adjustability will be described below with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3.

The support 3 is made in two parts and consists of a lower part 9 and an upper part 10. The lower part 9 is a base with a U-shaped cross section, the transverse web 11 of which forms the standing surface 7. The width of the crosspiece 11 is substantially smaller than that of the crosspiece 5 of the trough 1, so that the support 3 can be displaced transversely within the trough 1 between the walls 6. Three slits are cut or punched in the legs 12 of the lower part 9, which each form a support surface 13 at their base. These support surfaces 13 are stepped uniformly, the step height being 10 millimeters, for example. The number of steps and the step height is freely selectable.

The upper part 10 of the support is a plate 14, each of which has four slots facing the legs 12 of the lower part 9, the base of which form four second, evenly stepped support surfaces 15. Their gradation has a step height of preferably 2.5 millimeters. The number and the step height of the second support surfaces 15 can also be freely selected. The step height of the first support surfaces 13 preferably corresponds to the product of the number of steps formed from the second support surfaces 15 times their step height. Thus, when setting the support height, the choice of a step for the first support surfaces 13 serves for the rough adjustment and the selection of a step for the second support surfaces 15 for the fine adjustment, since the latter enable a regular fine gradation between the steps of the first support surfaces 13. The width of the slots and the thickness of the plate 14 and the leg 12 is chosen so that the parts 9 and 10 enter into a preferably frictionally locking and releasable plug connection.

According to an embodiment not shown, it is also possible to attach only one support surface 13 or 15 or a pair of support surfaces in the lower or upper support part 9 or 10 and to provide a plurality of stepped support surfaces only on the other part.

At the upper end of the plate 14, this has two spaced-apart support tabs 16, which, with a third tab 17 formed on an offset 18, form a contact surface 19 with which the upper support part 10 on opposite sides of an opening 4 on the underside of the cover grate 2 is present when the screw 8 is screwed into a threaded bore 20 in the bend 18 and tightened.

The supports 3 are installed and adjusted by first screwing an upper part 10 of a support 3 to the ends of a cover grating 2 by means of a screw 8. Then, by measuring the depth of the drainage channel, it is determined which step height is to be selected for the first and which for the second support surfaces 13 and 15 and then the lower support part 9 is correspondingly plugged onto the upper support part 10. The cover grate prepared in this way is then placed in the drainage channel 1, whereupon its upper side adjoins the adjacent roof or terrace covering in a coplanar manner.

In the following example according to FIGS. 4 and 5, the same reference numerals designate the same parts as in the example according to FIGS. 1 to 3.

The height of the support in the example according to FIGS. 4 and 5 is, in contrast to the example according to FIGS. 1 to 3, infinitely adjustable in height. The upper part 10 of the support is welded to the cover grate 2 and its horizontal cross section has a U-profile. In this, the U-profile-shaped lower part 9 is also mounted axially displaceably in horizontal cross section. To save weight, the crossbars of the upper and lower support parts 10 and 9 are provided with recesses 21 and 22, respectively. A set screw 23 or 24 is screwed into two threaded bores arranged in the cross section of the lower support part 9. Each of the two locking screws 23 and 24 penetrate a vertical slot 25, 26 in the crosspiece of the upper support part 10. When the locking screws 23, 24 are loosened, the lower support part 9 can be telescoped continuously and - by tightening the locking screws 23, 24 - in each Pull-out position can be fixed. In this embodiment, the lower support part can initially only be weakly fixed to the upper support part 10 for the installation of the cover grating 2. After inserting the cover grate 2 in the trough 1, the cover grate 2 is pressed or hammered down by hand or with a rubber hammer to the level at which it is flush with the adjacent plate covering. If the grating is adjusted in this way, the locking screws 23, 24 are tightened.
