Bei verschiedenen Spiegeln wurde durch das Anbringen von einer oder mehreren Lampen am Spiegel dieses zu verbessern versucht. Bei Spiegeln mit der direkten Ausleuchtung von einem Punkt aus ist sie ungleichmäßig und hat zum Teil Schattenbildung durch Gesichtskonturen.
