Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for theft protection of objects by means of security devices to be attached to the objects to be secured in the form of resonant resonant circuits provided on a flat carrier or of magnetized strip material which, in the activated state, trigger an alarm when an unauthorized passage occurs with an alarm circuit.
The invention also relates to a device for carrying out such a method.
Such methods for theft protection of objects have been known for a long time and have been successfully implemented in practice. The securing devices are very often already attached at a central point on the objects to be secured or their packaging, which is captively connected to them, and the objects are only then delivered to the sales business. This also ensures that practically no errors occur, ie that all objects to be secured are provided with safety devices. However, this procedure has a major disadvantage in that it must be ensured in this central point that the correct safety device for the customer is applied, ie a safety device which is suitable for the safety system provided in the sales outlet. It goes without saying that a security system that works with resonance labels (radio frequency) can only respond to a corresponding alarm circuit, and the same also applies to the system with magnetic strips.
The central body responsible for installing the safety devices should be able to be released from the risk of installing the correct or possibly incorrect safety device for certain customers.
The object of the present invention is to find a solution to eliminate this risk.
In the method according to the invention, this is achieved in that each object to be secured or its packaging, which is captively connected to it, is provided both with a securing device with a resonant circuit and with a securing device with magnetized strip material.
Preferably, the two differently functioning securing devices can be attached directly one above the other to the object to be secured or its packaging, preferably one of the devices being attached directly below the other device, and the two securing devices being attached in a particularly expedient manner on a common carrier. This carrier can itself be formed by one of the two securing devices.
Basically, it is also possible, but at a much higher cost, instead of two different ones Security devices to be attached to security devices to equip the passage to be passed with an alarm circuit responsive to the security device containing a resonant circuit on an item to be secured or its packaging as well as to the alarm circuit which is made of magnetized strip material. In this case, of course, any object equipped with a safety device will excite the corresponding circuit and trigger the alarm if the passage is unauthorized.
A particularly suitable device for carrying out the method mentioned in the first place consists in that a securing device containing a resonant resonant circuit in the form of a thin label and also a securing device containing a magnetized strip material are mounted together on one carrier. This allows the two securing devices to be applied simultaneously to the object to be secured. The two securing devices can be arranged at least partially overlapping on the common carrier. The common carrier can be formed by one of the two securing devices, and this can be provided with an adhesive on one side, namely the side to be attached to the object to be secured.
Thanks to the method according to the invention, objects to be secured can be provided with security devices in the simplest way and without any significant outlay, so that these are independent of the monitoring system which is used by the end user (Store) is in use, can be used without further precautions.
As a rule, the security devices at the payment point (cash register) are deactivated, whereby the device with a resonant circuit can be deactivated in the simplest way by, in a known manner, the resonance circuit label having to be guided through a deactivation device within a certain distance, while in the case of the security device with magnetic strips the deactivation must also be carried out very precisely in a known manner, in that the magnetic strip must be passed in the immediate vicinity of a magnetic field which serves to deactivate it.
It should be mentioned again that the essence of the invention lies in the fact that two security devices are attached to each object to be secured, which work according to two different basic principles, namely by means of a resonant circuit or a magnetic strip. The securing devices can be applied to the object to be secured on a common carrier, for example formed by one of the securing devices, and where appropriate can also be covered by a product label.
Of course, it is possible to attach the two securing devices at separate locations on the object, but the two differently operating securing devices are preferably attached one above the other at the same location.
As already mentioned, the basic task could theoretically also be solved in that instead of two security devices working on different basic principles, the stationary device in the shop, namely the passage provided or equipped with an alarm circuit, is provided with two circuits which respond to different security devices, so that an alarm is triggered in any case if the passage is passed without authorization. This variant is more complex and possibly more prone to failure. Incidentally, it should also be noted that there are also safety devices located directly next to one another with different modes of operation, i. H. those on the basis of resonance resonant circuits and those on the basis of magnetic strips do not influence one another, so that there is nothing to prevent the two securing devices from being arranged one above the other at the same location on the object to be secured.
