Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a disconnector and relates more particularly to a disconnector with vertical opening according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Disconnectors have very little or no breaking capacity; it is however desirable to produce disconnectors having a certain breaking capacity, in order to carry out certain loop transfer maneuvers.
  • An object of the present invention is to provide a disconnector having a significant breaking capacity, for example making it possible to cut 4200 A at 20 kV earth phase.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a disconnector which can operate safely even if ice is deposited on the device, without penalizing the cost price of the device by an oversized operating mechanism.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a switch in which the glass is broken without using a large force.
  • Another object of the invention is to produce a high-voltage device, comprising a blade of sufficient length to ensure isolation, in which the glass is broken both when opening and when closing without risk of damaging the blade.
  • a disconnector of the type comprising a blade connected, at a first end, to a first connector and to means allowing, during an opening phase, a first rotation around itself and a second rotation about an axis, said blade carrying at its second end a contact hammer cooperating with a jaw connected to a second connector, the disconnector comprising means so that, during an opening operation , after the blade has rotated on itself causing the electrical disconnection of the hammer and the jaw, the current is first diverted, then switched through a switch, the latter opening under the control of a snap mechanism controlled by the movement of the blade, characterized in that said means comprise a sacrificial hammer removably arranged in the extension of the hammer and cooperating with ec two horns between which it engages and moves with friction, one of the horns having an insulating portion between two metal portions, one of which is connected to the second connector and the other is connected to an input of the switch
  • the switch operating mechanism comprises a first pivoting lever, under the action of the arm, around a fixed axis disposed at a first end, a spring fixed on the one hand to the second end of said first lever and on the other hand to a first end of a second lever pivoting about a fixed axis placed at its second end, said second lever carrying a lug engaging in an oblong lumen of a part connected to the moving switch contact.
  • the operating mechanism comprises first and second stops limiting the travel of said second lever.
  • the axis of the first lever includes a lug to prevent the spring from passing beyond said axis.
  • the reference 1 designates a cutting blade articulated at a first end at the top of a first column 2 and carrying at its second end a contact hammer cooperating with a jaw placed at the top of a second column 3.
  • the hammer has an elongated section, so that in a given position, it is in tight contact with the jaw and that after a rotation of 90 degrees on itself, it loses contact with the jaw.
  • An operating mechanism makes it possible, under the action of a column 5 driven in rotation by a motor 6, to cause the blade 1, from a closed position of the disconnector, to first a rotation of the blade around itself to loosen the contact between the hammer and the jaw, then a rotational movement in a vertical plane.
  • This mechanism is well known and, as it does not directly relate to the invention, it will not be described in more detail. It will simply be noted that the rotational movement of the blade on itself is generally 90 degrees, and it is this value which will be taken as an example in the following.
  • the first end of the blade 1 is electrically connected to a first connector 7; the jaw is connected to a second connector 8.
  • FIG. 2 shows in more detail the jaw 9, which consists of several contact fingers 9A; the hammer 10, placed at the end of the blade 1, is extended by a sacrificial hammer 10A, which is consumable and consequently fixed to the hammer in a removable manner so that it can be replaced easily.
  • the sacrificial hammer 10A carries a scent ball 11.
  • the contact fingers 9A are connected to the connector 8.
  • the sacrificial hammer engages between two horns 13 and 14, in the form of rods each having a straight portion and a curved portion.
  • the horns are electrically connected to the connector by one of their ends.
  • the horns are separated from each other so as to remain one and the other in contact with the sacrificial hammer during an opening maneuver, until the sacrificial hammer exceeds the curved portions of the horns.
  • a spring 15 between the horns ensures sufficient pressure.
  • the horns are fixed to a metal console 16 itself in mechanical and electrical connection with the connector 8.
  • the horns 13 have at their base a conductive portion 13A and an insulating portion 13B adjacent to the portion 13A, then a metal portion 13C.
  • the horns 14 have at their base a conductive portion 14A in electrical contact by braids 17 and 18 with the console 16, then an insulating portion 14B and an insulating portion 14C.
  • the portions 13B and 14B are for example made of Teflon (R), insulating and resistant to the switching arc; the portions 14C are preferably made of epoxy resin, an insulating material but less costly than teflon (R).
  • a switch 20 preferably of the type comprising a vacuum interrupter 20A, the opening of which is controlled by a trigger arm 21 actuated by the movement of the sacrificial hammer 10A.
  • the lower terminal of the switch is electrically connected to the console 16, the other terminal is electrically connected to the portion 13C of the horn 13, by the braids 22 and 23.
  • the references 25 and 26 designate corona rings.
  • the switch operating device generally designated by the reference 29, is now described with reference to FIGS. 4 to 6.
  • the trigger arm 21 is extended by a first lever 30 pivoting about a fixed axis 31 located at one of its ends; the axis 31 carries a lug 31A; at the other end of the lever 30 is fixed a first end of a spring 32 whose other end is fixed at a first end of a second lever 33 pivoting about a fixed axis 34.
  • the lever 33 carries a lug 35 engaging in an oblong opening 36 of a part 37 secured to the movable contact of the vacuum interrupter.
  • the references 38 and 39 designate stops to limit the stroke of the lever 33.
  • the operating mechanism 29 is placed in a casing 40 through which the trigger arm 21 passes.
  • the blade 1 rotates 90 degrees along its axis, which has the effect of interrupting the flow of current between the hammer and the contact fingers.
  • the sacrificial hammer 10A which has a cylindrical section, ensures the passage of current by its contact with the horns 14.
  • the sacrificial hammer 10A When the blade 1 of the disconnector begins to lift, the sacrificial hammer 10A is in contact with the insulating portion 13 B of the horn 13. The current then passes between the connector 7, the blade 1, the hammer 10, the sacrificial hammer 10A, the horn 14 and the connector 8.
  • the sacrificial hammer When the blade 1 begins to run, the sacrificial hammer, after passing through a buffer zone where the current can flow through the switch and the elements 14A, 17, 18 and 16, reaches a position where it is in contact with the portion insulator 14B of the horn 14 and the conductive portion 13C of the horn 13; the current then flows between the connector 7, the blade 1, the hammer 10, the sacrificial hammer 10A, the portion 13C of the horn 13, the braid 23, the braid 22, the bulb 20A, the console 16 and the connector 8 .
  • the sacrificial hammer 10A continues its upward stroke, comes to drive the trigger arm 21, the movement of which produces the abrupt opening of the vacuum interrupter.
  • the operation of the operating mechanism 29 of the switch is as follows: the lever 30 secured to the arm 21 comes to tension the spring 32 and, after passing neutral, sets the lever 33 in motion.
  • the lug 35 after a certain stroke during which the lever 33 acquires a certain kinetic energy, comes strike the upper end of the oblong opening 36 of the part 37 and drive the latter over a stroke sufficient to open the switch.
  • the stop 39 serves to adjust the distance before impact of the lug 35 on the end of the oblong lumen 36 of the part 37, and, consequently, the energy accumulated by the crew. We can thus reach two millimeters in two milliseconds.
  • the lug 31A keeps the spring tensioned by preventing it from passing beyond the axis 31.
  • the stop 38 makes it possible to adjust the distance between the contacts of the vacuum cell, for example from 6 to 8 mm.
  • the device which has just been described therefore makes it possible to adjust the speed of opening of the contacts.
  • disconnector of the invention results from the fact that, unlike known type disconnector, the operating arm of the switch is not used to transmit the current.
  • the presence of ice on the sacrificial hammer 10A is not favorable to a frank contact, because the arm does not have sufficient pressure to break the ice and it is difficult to increase this pressure without penalize the opening of the disconnector, the operating mechanism of which is located at the other end of the blade.
  • horns 13 and 14 forming a clamp requires little mechanical energy for the operation of the disconnector, since the force of penetration of the hammer into the jaw is perpendicular to the pressure force exerted by the horns 13 and 14 on the hammer sacrificial 10A, therefore limited essentially by friction forces.
  • the sacrificial hammer shears the ice in its ascent or descent maneuver.
  • the invention applies to high voltage disconnectors and in particular to vertical displacement disconnectors.
