In einem solchen Fall ist es möglich, daß beim ersten Öffnen des Behälters keine ausreichenden Aufsprengkräfte auf den Garantiering beziehungsweise auf den Garantiebereich ausgeübt werden, so daß dieser unversehrt über die Außenwand beziehungsweise den Mündungsbereich des Behältnisses abgleitet, wenn der Verschluß erstmalig geöffnet wird. Dies liegt insbesondere daran, daß die sogenannten Senkrechteinschnitte, durch die der Garantiebereich in mindestens zwei Segmente unterteilt wird, eine fertigungsbedingte zu große Festigkeit aufweisen.Dimensional differences naturally occur in the manufacture of the closures and the associated containers. Zur Trennung des Garantiebereichs vom übrigen Mantel des Verschlusses wird an einer vorbestimmten Stelle am unteren Saum des Mantels ein in Umfangsrichtung verlaufender Horizontalschnitt maschinell eingebracht, der die Wandung des Mantels ganz oder fast ganz durchschneidet. Außerdem wird mindestens ein senkrecht zur Umfangsrichtung des Garantiebereichs verlaufende Senkrechteinschnitt maschinell eingeschnitten, um einzelne Segmente voneinander zu trennen. Dabei ist der Senkrechteinschnitt den bestimmten Formmerkmalen in einem vorgesehenen Abstand zugeordnet. Wesentlich ist, daß bei diesen Verfahren der Senkrechteinschnitt nicht durch eine Materialschwächung im Garantiebereich erzeugt ist, die beispielsweise durch einen Spritzvorgang herstellbar ist, sondern daß hier tatsächlich Schnitte in den Garantiebereich eingebracht werden, so daß eine definierte Materialschwächung vorgegeben ist. Diese läßt sich viel exakter vorausbestimmen als bei einem Spritzverfahren. Die Senkrechteinschnitte werden also nicht durch ein Spritzverfahren sondern durch einen nachträglichen Schneidvorgang erzeugt, so daß die Haltekräfte im Bereich des Senkrechteinschnitts sich sehr exakt voraussagen lassen. überdies können durch die genaue Positionierung der Senkrechteinschnitte die dort entstehenden Aufsprengkräfte exakt vorherbestimmt werden.   11. Apparatus as claimed in one of claims 4 to 10, characterised in that the centring device (55, 59) has a fixing device (65) which holds the closure (1) to be scanned, in the retaining device.
  12. Apparatus as claimed in claim 11, characterised in that the fixing device has a preferably rotatably mounted plunger (67) which penetrates the centring device (55, 59).

  16. Apparatus as claimed in one of claims 4 to 15, characterised in that the interior centring device (55) can be moved relative to the exterior centring device (59) in such a way that the cutting device has unrestricted access to the exterior side of the closure (1).
  17. Apparatus as claimed in one of claims 4 to 16, characterised in that the cutting device is so designed that, when the vertical indentations (29) are cut, there remain intact regions, preferably bridging ridges (31), which bridge the vertical indentations (29).
  18.
