Definitions
- the invention relates to a drilling device according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Drilling devices which are intended for use in tunnel and tunnel construction and which use a washing-up liquid during drilling are known in a variety of forms.
- the flushing agent this can be water or air - is introduced into the borehole via the central flow channel of the drill rod, exits the drill rod or the drill head, for example, in an area adjacent to the drill bit, in order to reach the outside of the drill rod to flow back towards the mouth of the borehole.
- the flushing medium is loaded with the rock particles released as a result of the drilling operation.
- there are several outlet openings provided both in the area of the drill head and along the drill rod.
- the flushing medium also has a certain cooling effect.
- Such drilling devices consisting essentially of a drill head and a boring bar, are optionally extended to the desired length by screw-on connecting sleeves and extension boring bars according to the length of the borehole to be created.
- a pump or a compressor arranged on the borehole mouth side serves to convey the flushing medium within the flow channel mentioned.
- the energy transferred to the flushing medium by the latter units is only used to a very small extent for flushing purposes or to support the drilling process due to numerous sources of loss.
- the outlet openings which are provided as simple bores of the drill head or at the end of the boring bar on the drill head side, entail considerable pressure losses and the flow energy of the flushing medium is distributed over a comparatively wide range.
- Sources of loss also result from leaks in the area of the connecting sleeves, in particular due to angular displacements of the axes of the individual boring bars placed one against the other.
- the flow channel of the boring bar in the area of the boring head merges into an acceleration section which forms the outflow opening on the outlet side.
- a flow section can be used as the acceleration section, which can be characterized, for example, by a continuous reduction in cross-section, the cross-sectional configuration within the acceleration section being dimensioned such that the lowest possible pressure losses of the flowing flushing medium result. In this way it is achieved that the energy transferred via the flushing medium is converted into kinetic energy with as little loss as possible. It is also essential that this kinetic energy is combined in the area of an outflow opening, which is preferably located in the area of the drill bit. In other words, the special design of the flow channel in the area of the drill head bundles the energy transferred with the flushing medium and supports the drilling process as effectively as possible.
- the outflow opening of the acceleration section is preferably arranged centrally in accordance with the features of claim 2 and has an axial outflow direction. In this way, the outflow opening is arranged immediately adjacent to the cutting edges or other cutting elements of the drill bit, and the flushing medium therefore primarily develops its effect directly on the bottom of the borehole.
- the drill bit is usually provided in the peripheral area in a manner known per se with radial recesses in order to facilitate an outflow of the flushing medium loaded with rock particles.
- claims 3 and 4 are directed to different variants of the design of the drill head. This can be screwed or welded to the boring bar and the application of the principle according to the invention is therefore independent of the type of connection of the boring head to the boring bar.
- the cross-sectional profile of the acceleration section can be designed in quite different ways in accordance with the features of claims 6 to 9.
- a conical cross-sectional profile results from an inlet to an outlet cross-section.
- other types of narrowing of the flow cross-section are also considered - viewed in the direction of the outlet cross-section.
- Other variants concern the provision of different sections within the acceleration section, e.g. a combination of cylindrical with tapered or otherwise tapered sections.
- the cross-sectional design is selected solely from the aspect of setting a flow with as little loss as possible.
- the disclosed ranges of the diameter ratios and the taper angle have proven to be preferred ranges in this connection.
- the acceleration section can be manufactured in different ways. A particularly cost-effective production results from the features of claim 10.
- a special one-piece insert made of plastic is provided, which comprises the flow sections serving to accelerate the flushing medium.
- Such an insert part is to be regarded as a comparatively inexpensive mass product which, for insertion, has the boring bar or the Drilling head is determined. In this way, the production of, for example, conical cross-sectional profiles is unnecessary by a corresponding machining metal processing.
- the geometrical shape of the insert can be adapted exactly to that of the central flushing hole of a drill bit or to the internal dimensions of the boring bar.
- the flow cross-section of the insert part can in turn be formed in a simple manner directly during the manufacture of the insert part, which can consist, for example, of a thermoplastic.
- the insert is suitably fixed to the inner walls of the drill head in accordance with the features of claim 10. This determination is made in accordance with the absolute length dimensions of the insert part on the inner walls of the central bore of the drill head or the drill bit and / or those of the drill rod section adjacent to the drill bit.
- the type of determination can in principle be made arbitrarily.
- the insert part can be provided in a particularly simple manner with an external thread which is in engagement with the internal thread of the boring bar section.
- profilings of any type can be provided on the outside of the insert, which are used for frictionally fixing the insert.
- claims 14 to 19 are directed to a particularly advantageous design of the acceleration section.
- Fig. 1 is an axially comparatively short plate-like drill bit, which is provided on its side facing the bottom of the borehole with cutting edges 2, which are, however, only indicated schematically.
- the drill bit 1 consists of hard metal and is connected to a drill rod 3 in a fixed, for example welded, connection.
- the drill bit 2 has a larger outer diameter than the drill rod 3.
- the boring bar 3 provided over its entire length with a uniform external thread, which in known per se, not to be explained in more detail here, the coupling of extension boring bars, but also a drilling drive and a pump or a compressor serves to convey a flushing medium.
- the drill rod 3 directly attached to the drill bit 1 can also be made comparatively short, so that the unit consisting of the drill bit 1 and the drill rod element 3 attached to it can also be viewed as a drill head which can be screwed to a mutually exclusive drill rod via a connecting sleeve is.
- the boring bar 3 or the boring bar element 3 can also be provided on the inside over its entire length with a uniform thread, here an indicated round thread, and this measure serves to use such coupling elements for the purpose of extending the boring bar, via which the boring bar ends to be connected are connected not screwed on the outside, but on the inside.
- This technique which is known per se, is also not to be discussed in more detail here.
- the boring bar 3 with its external and / or internal threads is preferably made of cold-rolled steel.
- the flow channel 4 is continued at its end adjacent to the drill bit 1 in two successive, conically shaped bore sections 7, 7 'of different conicity up to the opening 6 and there are no further outlet openings in the drill bit 1 or the drill rod apart from the opening 6 3 provided.
- the two bore sections 7, 7 'following the flow channel 4 form an acceleration section and, in the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1, are designed such that the bore section 7 immediately adjacent to the flow channel 4 has a greater conicity than the subsequent bore section 7'. having.
- the total length 8 of the acceleration section and the lengths 8 ', 8' 'of the respective individual bore sections are dimensioned such that the flow through the acceleration section is characterized by the lowest possible pressure losses.
- the cross-sectional profile can be dimensioned as desired for a given inlet cross-section 9 and outlet cross-section 6 'of the opening 6.
- Preferred values for the ratio of the diameter of the inlet cross section to the outlet cross section are approximately 2: 1 to 4: 1.
- Fig. 2 shows a modification of the acceleration section in that it starts from an inlet cross-section 9 'corresponding to a constant taper to the opening 6 and the Outlet cross section 6 'extends.
- the taper or the ratio of the cross-sectional areas of the inlet cross-section 9 'and the outlet cross-section 6' and the total length 8 of the acceleration section are dimensioned according to the same criteria as in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1.
- the total length 8 can be approximately 3 cm to 10 cm in the case of boring bars of conventional diameter.
- the design of a drill head according to the invention aims to provide a high degree of kinetic energy of the flushing medium in the region of the opening 6 of the drill bit 1, thus on the bore hole mouth side, in order to effectively support the drilling process.
- the energy transferred to the drilling head in accordance with the type of the flushing medium by a pump or a compressor in the region of the drill head is to be partially converted into kinetic energy with as little loss as possible.
- the flushing medium flowing over the outside of the drill bit simultaneously causes cooling and contributes to reducing wear. It is essential that all of the energy supplied via the flushing medium, insofar as it is used as kinetic energy to support the drilling process, only exits via the central flushing hole of the drill bit 1, thus being combined and bundled in this area.
- the drill head consisting of a drill bit 1 and a short drill rod element welded to it is a screw-on drill head
- the complete drilling device can consist of this drill head and one or more drill rods which are of identical design and are coupled to one another via connecting sleeves, preferably each consist of cold rolled steel and their outer and / or Inside - over their entire length - are provided with threads or other profiling.
- FIG. 3 shows an embodiment of a drill head, which is particularly advantageous from a manufacturing point of view, which in turn consists of an axially comparatively short plate-like drill bit 10 and a likewise short drill rod element 11 which is welded to the drill bit 10.
- the outside and inside of the drill rod element 11 can be designed in the same way as the drill rod 3 according to FIG. be equipped with an external and / or internal thread over their entire axial length.
- the drill bit 10 is provided with a central, axially directed cylindrical bore 12 and the drill rod element 11 is arranged coaxially with this bore 12.
- the boring bar element 11 has a cylindrical flow channel 13, apart from the presence of an internal thread, so that, given the internal diameter ratios of the flow channel 13 on the one hand and the bore 12 on the other, on the side facing the boring bar element the drill bit 10 produces an annular surface 14 which is delimited radially on the outside by the inner radius of the boring bar element 11 and radially on the inside by the outside radius of the bore 12.
- an insert part 15 is provided, which is arranged coaxially to the common axis 16 of the bore 12 and the flow channel 13 in the assembled state.
- the insert part 15 is formed in one piece and consists of a suitable, for example thermoplastic. It is composed globally of two cylindrical, mutually coaxial parts 17, 17 ', the first-mentioned part 17 being intended for insertion into the bore 12 essentially without play and the part 17' being intended for the corresponding insertion into the flow channel 13.
- the outer diameter of the part 17 'thus corresponds essentially to the inner diameter of the boring bar element 11.
- the insert part 15 has two successive bore sections 18, 18' with a conical cross section, the purpose of which is to provide the acceleration section.
- the conicity of the bore sections 18, 18 ', the inlet cross-section 20, the intermediate cross-section 20' and the cross-section of the outlet opening 20 '' are accordingly dimensioned with regard to the last-mentioned target criterion.
- the bore sections 18, 18 ' it is naturally also possible to use other cross-sectional profiles which reduce the cross-section in the direction of the outlet cross-section. The only thing that is essential in this connection is the conversion of part of the energy transmitted via the flowing flushing medium into kinetic energy, which is as low in losses as possible.
- the insert body 15 can be screwed into the boring bar element 11 in the presence of an internal thread, so that the same results in a secure fit.
- the insert part 15 'can also be provided with an annular groove profile on the outside, as shown in FIG is provided so that there is a frictional connection with the inside of the boring bar element 11 during assembly.
- the insert part 15 'can naturally be provided with any outside profiles, clamping elements and the like. It is essential that in the embodiment according to FIG. 3 the plastic insert 15 can be produced relatively inexpensively and that standard components such as plate-like drill bits and tubular drill rods can also be used in the other components of the drill head, so that there is no need to have to create conical holes or other geometrically complicated shapes.
- FIG. 4 also shows a modified form of the acceleration section, which consists of three successive bore sections 19, 19 ', 19' ', namely a first conical 19, a subsequent cylindrical 19' and a subsequent conical 19 '' .
- the insert body can in principle also be designed such that it extends only within the drill bit or the area of the adjacent drill rod element near the drill bit.
- the subject matter of the invention is not limited to a comment on drilling devices. It can also be used to advantage in the case of injection drill anchors or self-drilling rock anchors.
- FIG. 5 shows a particularly advantageous form of the flow channel running within the drill bit and forming an acceleration section.
- This flow channel can be molded into an insert body, for example of the type shown in FIG. 4 - however, it can equally well be integrated directly into the structure of a drill bit, in particular a short plate-like drill bit.
- the total length of the acceleration section shown in FIG. 5 can be, for example, 4 cm to 10 cm.
- the first-mentioned section 23 tapers to an intermediate cross-section 25, which corresponds to the location of the smallest cross-section.
- the flow channel is formed overall in a rotationally symmetrical manner with respect to the longitudinal axis 26 and the turns of the section 23 are formed in the illustration of the axial section shown in FIG.
- the diameters of the cross sections of the inlet cross section 21 and the intermediate cross section 25 preferably behave as 3: 1.
- the conicity angle 27 can preferably be 2 o .
- the length 28 of the second section 24 can be dimensioned such that the diameter of the outlet cross section 22 to that of the intermediate cross section 25 is 1.25: 1.
- 1 marked section 23 results at an inlet pressure of 6 bar, a diameter of the intermediate cross section 25 of 6 mm and a section 23, the walls of which - seen in an axial section - are characterized by arch elements of ellipses, a flow of 2 , 4 m3 / min. If the diameter is increased to 8 mm, a throughput of 4.0 m3 / min results at the same pressure.
- a particularly low-loss energy conversion is possible with a flow channel of the type shown in FIG. 5.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a drilling device according to the preamble of claim 1.
Drilling devices which are intended for use in tunnel and tunnel construction and which use a washing-up liquid during drilling are known in a variety of forms. The flushing agent - this can be water or air - is introduced into the borehole via the central flow channel of the drill rod, exits the drill rod or the drill head, for example, in an area adjacent to the drill bit, in order to reach the outside of the drill rod to flow back towards the mouth of the borehole. During this backflow, the flushing medium is loaded with the rock particles released as a result of the drilling operation. As a rule, there are several outlet openings provided both in the area of the drill head and along the drill rod. In addition to the flushing effect, the flushing medium also has a certain cooling effect.
Such drilling devices, consisting essentially of a drill head and a boring bar, are optionally extended to the desired length by screw-on connecting sleeves and extension boring bars according to the length of the borehole to be created. A pump or a compressor arranged on the borehole mouth side serves to convey the flushing medium within the flow channel mentioned.
However, the energy transferred to the flushing medium by the latter units is only used to a very small extent for flushing purposes or to support the drilling process due to numerous sources of loss. Because the outlet openings, which are provided as simple bores of the drill head or at the end of the boring bar on the drill head side, entail considerable pressure losses and the flow energy of the flushing medium is distributed over a comparatively wide range. Sources of loss also result from leaks in the area of the connecting sleeves, in particular due to angular displacements of the axes of the individual boring bars placed one against the other.
It is therefore the object of the invention to design a drilling device of the type described in the introduction in a simple manner in such a way that the drilling process can be effectively supported by the flushing medium. This object is achieved in such a device by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.
It is essential to the invention that the flow channel of the boring bar in the area of the boring head merges into an acceleration section which forms the outflow opening on the outlet side. A flow section can be used as the acceleration section, which can be characterized, for example, by a continuous reduction in cross-section, the cross-sectional configuration within the acceleration section being dimensioned such that the lowest possible pressure losses of the flowing flushing medium result.
The outflow opening of the acceleration section is preferably arranged centrally in accordance with the features of
The features of
The cross-sectional profile of the acceleration section can be designed in quite different ways in accordance with the features of claims 6 to 9. In the simplest case, a conical cross-sectional profile results from an inlet to an outlet cross-section. However, other types of narrowing of the flow cross-section are also considered - viewed in the direction of the outlet cross-section. Other variants concern the provision of different sections within the acceleration section, e.g. a combination of cylindrical with tapered or otherwise tapered sections. The cross-sectional design is selected solely from the aspect of setting a flow with as little loss as possible. The disclosed ranges of the diameter ratios and the taper angle have proven to be preferred ranges in this connection.
The acceleration section can be manufactured in different ways. A particularly cost-effective production results from the features of
The insert is suitably fixed to the inner walls of the drill head in accordance with the features of
The features of

Die Bohrkrone 1 besteht aus Hartmetall und steht mit einer Bohrstange 3 in fester, beispielsweise geschweißter Verbindung.1 in Fig. 1 is an axially comparatively short plate-like drill bit, which is provided on its side facing the bottom of the borehole with

It is the
The
With the 4 - apart from the internal thread - essentially cylindrical central flow channel of the boring bar is designated, which is intended to guide the flushing medium, which flows during the drilling operation in the direction of
The flow channel 4 is continued at its end adjacent to the drill bit 1 in two successive, conically shaped
It is irrelevant for the mode of operation of the drill head according to the invention in which way the acceleration section has been produced.
Fig. 2 shows a modification of the acceleration section in that it starts from an inlet cross-section 9 'corresponding to a constant taper to the opening 6 and the Outlet cross section 6 'extends. The taper or the ratio of the cross-sectional areas of the inlet cross-section 9 'and the outlet cross-section 6' and the
The
The design of a drill head according to the invention aims to provide a high degree of kinetic energy of the flushing medium in the region of the opening 6 of the drill bit 1, thus on the bore hole mouth side, in order to effectively support the drilling process. In other words, the energy transferred to the drilling head in accordance with the type of the flushing medium by a pump or a compressor in the region of the drill head is to be partially converted into kinetic energy with as little loss as possible. The flushing medium flowing over the outside of the drill bit simultaneously causes cooling and contributes to reducing wear. It is essential that all of the energy supplied via the flushing medium, insofar as it is used as kinetic energy to support the drilling process, only exits via the central flushing hole of the drill bit 1, thus being combined and bundled in this area. If, for example, the drill head consisting of a drill bit 1 and a short drill rod element welded to it is a screw-on drill head, the complete drilling device can consist of this drill head and one or more drill rods which are of identical design and are coupled to one another via connecting sleeves, preferably each consist of cold rolled steel and their outer and / or Inside - over their entire length - are provided with threads or other profiling.
Ein Vorteil dieses Bohrkopfes besteht darin, daß dieser aus Standardbauteilen zusammengesetzt ist, die ihrerseits einfach herstellbar sind und insbesondere keine aufwendige Bearbeitung benötigen.3 shows an embodiment of a drill head, which is particularly advantageous from a manufacturing point of view, which in turn consists of an axially comparatively short plate-
In order to design the flow channel within the drill head in the sense of an acceleration section in an analogous manner to the objects in FIGS. 1 and 2, an
The
Fig. 4 läßt außerdem eine abgewandelte Form des Beschleunigungsabschnitts erkennen, der aus drei, aufeinander folgenden Bohrungsabschnitten 19, 19',19'' besteht, nämlich einem ersten konischen 19, einem sich anschließenden zylindrischen 19' und einem sich wiederum anschließenden konischen 19''.4 also shows a modified form of the acceleration section, which consists of three
The insert body can in principle also be designed such that it extends only within the drill bit or the area of the adjacent drill rod element near the drill bit.
The subject matter of the invention is not limited to a comment on drilling devices. It can also be used to advantage in the case of injection drill anchors or self-drilling rock anchors.
This flow channel can be molded into an insert body, for example of the type shown in FIG. 4 - however, it can equally well be integrated directly into the structure of a drill bit, in particular a short plate-like drill bit.
The total length of the acceleration section shown in FIG. 5 can be, for example, 4 cm to 10 cm.
The
A particularly low-loss energy conversion is possible with a flow channel of the type shown in FIG. 5.
