Die Erfindung ist zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß

  • a) der Auslaßkanal an seinem oberen Ende als ein dünnwandiger Rohrabschnitt ausgebildet ist,
  • b) der Rohrabschnitt an seinem oberen Ende durch eine Prallplatte geschlossen ist, die einen Teil einer Kopfwand des Schaumkopfes bildet und deren Durchmesser demjenigen des Rohrabschnitts entspricht,
  • c) der Rohrabschnitt über seinen Umfang mit zum Auslaßkanal parallelen Durchtrittsschlitzen versehen ist, die durch Umfangswinkel voneinander getrennt sind und jeweils in einen Austrittsschlitz in der Kopfwand radial einmünden,
  • d) ein innerer Boden jedes Austrittsschlitzes sich vom unteren Ende des zugehörigen Durchtrittsschlitzes bis zum Fuß einer Prallwand radial nach außen erstreckt, die mit dem Auslaßkanal einen spitzen Winkel bildet, der sich zur Kopfwand hin öffnet,
  • e) ein oberes Ende jeder Prallwand auf einer Höhe angeordnet ist, die etwa zwei Drittel der Höhe des Rohrabschnitts beträgt,
  • f) ein äußerer Boden jedes Austrittsschlitzes sich von dem oberen Ende der Prallwand bis in die Nähe eines Außenrandes der Kopfwand radial nach außen erstreckt.

Claims (11)

  1. Foam cap (10) for a manually actuated pressurised container with a dispensing valve, onto the tubular valve shaft of which a tubular outlet pipe (12) of the foam cap may be pushed to actuate the dispensing valve, an outlet passage (14) extending through the outlet pipe (12) and communicating with a plurality of outlet openings in the foam cap which are connected to the interior of the pressurised container when the dispensing valve is open,
    characterised in that
    a) the outlet passage (14) is constructed at its upper end as a thin walled tube section (16),
    b) the tube section (16) is closed at its upper end by a deflecting plate (18) which forms a part of an end wall (20) of the foam cap (10) and whose diameter corresponds to that of the tube section (16),
    c) the tube section (16) is provided over its periphery with slits (22) which arc parallel to the outlet passage (14) and which are angularly separated from one another and each open out radially into a respective outlet slit (24) in the end wall (20),
    d) an inner base (26) of each outlet slit (24) extends radially outwards from the lower end (28) of the associated slit (22) to the foot of a deflecting wall (30), which, together with the outlet passage (14), defines an acute angle which opens towards the end wall (20),
    e) an upper end (32) of each deflecting wall (30) is disposed at a height which is about two thirds of the height of the tube section (16),
    f) an outer base (34) of each outlet slit (24) extends radially outwards from the upper end (32) of the deflecting wall (30) into the vicinity of an outer edge (36) of the end wall (20).
  2. Foam cap as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the underside of the deflecting plate (18), which is directed towards the outlet passage (14), extends into the outlet passage (14) in the form of a cone (21).
  3. Foam cap as claimed in Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the slits (22) and the outlet slits (24) are of the same breadth.
  4. Foam cap as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the outlet pipe (12) is surrounded by a conical upper portion (38), which extends from the outer edge (36) of the end wall (20) to a lower, outer annular shoulder (40), from which a shell (42) extends downwardly, which has an upper portion (44) and a lower portion (46) which are connected by an external shoulder (48) which approximately corresponds to an internal shoulder (50) with which the foam cap (10) may be supported on the edge of a container lid.
  5. Foam cap as claimed in Claim 4, characterised in that the lower portion (46) of the shell (42) is provided with locking ridges (52) which are disposed over the periphery of an inner wall (54) of the lower shell portion (46) spaced below the internal shoulder (50) in such a manner that the locking ridges (52) can engage lockingly below the edge of the container lid to fasten the foam cap (10).
  6. Foam cap as claimed in Claim 4 or 5, characterised in that the conical upper portion (36) is provided on one side with a finger depression (56) which extends approximately over the entire height of the upper portion (38) and intersects the end wall (20) radially outside the deflecting wall (30).
  7. Foam cap as claimed in claim 6,
    characterised in that the conical upper portion (38) is connected at that side which has the finger depression (56) by means of a film hinge (58) to the external shoulder (48) on the shell (42) and at the opposite side to the external shoulder (48) by means of at least one web (60) which is to be broken.
  8. Foam cap as claimed in one of Claims 6 or 7, characterised in that the finger depression (56) is positioned spaced above the external shoulder (48) and extends over about 90° of the periphery of the conical upper portion (38).
  9. Foam cap as claimed in one of Claims 6 to 8, characterised in that a rear surface (62) of the finger depression (56) is connected to the outlet pipe (12) over the upper two-thirds of the height of the outlet pipe (12).
  10. Foam cap as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the end wall (20) is curved upwardly and outwardly and has eight outlet slits (24) which extend radially outwardly in the manner of a star from the central deflecting plate (18) on the end wall (20) and are open towards the upper surface of the end wall (20).
  11. Foam cap as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 10, characterised in that it is a one-piece plastics injection moulding.
