- the embodiment shown corresponds to an SMA type socket, that is to say that the antenna plug comprises a nut 32 which is screwed onto the thread presented by the connection end 11 of the adapter element 10.
- This type of plug which does not allow a high number of operations is the most common for radiotelephone antennas.
- the adaptation element 10 may include other types of connection end, adapted to other types of antenna plugs.
- the connection end can for example be of the subclic, quarter-type turn, ...
- the base 13 and the connection means 12 may be of another type, the main thing being that the electrical contact between the element 10 and the base 13 is established inside of the housing 14 by simple insertion of the element 10 in the housing. It is for example possible to use metal blades arranged on either side in the housing 14, these blades being in electrical contact with conductive tracks disposed on the adaptation element 10. It will however be observed that the electrical connections made must be good quality since electrical signals have high frequencies.
- the core 33 of the antenna plug 31 enters a metal housing 34 (FIG. 1) connected to the core 19 of the connection means 12.
- the adaptation element 10 consists of a metal core 36 coated with an insulator 37 itself surrounded by a metal body 38 forming a mass and constituting the exterior of the element. The total length of this element is very reduced, of the order of 15 mm.
- the present invention applies to any type of radio transmitter and / or receiver station, and in particular to portable type radiotelephones. It allows any existing antenna to be attached to a specific station, the attachment achieved allowing a high number of operations. Its application to portable radiotelephones is advantageous insofar as their antennas are frequently removed, to facilitate their transport when not in use.

Abstract
Description
The field of the invention is that of adaptation systems between an antenna and a radio transmitter and / or receiver station. More specifically, the present invention relates to an adaptation system making it possible to connect any antenna to such a station. The station is for example a radiotelephone, and the present invention applies in particular to portable radiotelephones.
A portable radiotelephone is in the form of a small-sized box to which is connected an antenna for transmitting and receiving radioelectric signals. The antenna comprises at one of its ends a plug cooperating with a complementary base fixed on the housing. The plug and the base provide both electrical contact and mechanical maintenance of the antenna to the housing and are manually separable to allow the antenna to be removed and thus facilitate the transport of the station and the antenna when not in use.
When designing a radiotelephone, it is intended to be connected to an antenna plug of predetermined type, that is to say that the user will have to choose an antenna whose plug is adapted to the base fitted to the radiotelephone. .
Different standards characterize such plugs and sockets adapted to frequency signals of the order of 900 MHz and the most frequently used sockets are of the SMA type. An SMA type socket consists on the one hand of a female base, comprising a thread forming a mass and an internal conductor forming a core, and on the other hand of a male plug, comprising a nut capable of cooperating with this thread and a soul. The male plug is mounted at the end of an antenna and its cooperation with the base is ensured by screwing the nut onto the thread of the base.
The main drawback of this type of socket is that it does not allow a high number of operations of the antenna and wear and tear on the plug and the base are quickly observed, deteriorating the qualities of the microwave transmission. Indeed, a screwing of an element on the other causes friction causing the aforementioned wear. These frictions are located not only at the ground contact, but also at the core and result in machining of these contacts.
This is why manufacturers have developed sockets that do not require screwing of one element on the other. A socket allowing a high number of operations, commonly called "subclic", exploits the elasticity of a ring forming part of the antenna plug to allow the plug to be secured to a complementary base. The main disadvantage of this type of plug is that it is expensive and not widely used.
Furthermore, a major drawback of existing radiotelephones is that it is not possible, for the user, to freely choose a commercial antenna which would suit him, since the latter must necessarily present a complementary sheet of the base equipping his radiotelephone .
The present invention aims in particular to overcome these drawbacks.
More specifically, a first objective of the invention is to provide an adaptation system between a radio transmission / reception station and an antenna allowing the user to mount any commercial antenna on his post.
A second objective of the invention is to provide such a system which makes it possible to carry out a high number of maneuvers for securing-detaching the antenna from the station.
These objectives, as well as others which will appear later, are achieved thanks to an adaptation system between an antenna plug and a base of a radio transmitter and / or receiver station comprising a housing for receiving an adaptation element from the antenna plug to the base, this adaptation element comprising an electrical and mechanical connection end intended to cooperate with the antenna plug and an at least electrical connection means intended to cooperate with the base, this base being included inside the reception housing and coming into electrical contact with the connection means by axial insertion only of the adapter element in the housing, the adapter element being held in the housing by means of a manually actuated holding means so as to ensure an electrical connection between the antenna plug and the base when the antenna plug cooperates with the connection end.
This system allows any antenna to be mounted on a specific station, the number of securing-decoupling operations being high since the electrical contact between the base and the connection means is effected by axial insertion only of the element adaptation in the housing provided in the post. There is therefore no rotational movement to be made to electrically and mechanically connect the antenna to the station.
Preferably, the connection means of the adaptation element is an axial connection means which penetrates axially into the base and the electrical connection end of the adaptation element is a screw connection cooperating with the plug. antenna, so that activation of the holding means allows simultaneous axial extraction of the antenna and the adapter element.
Preferably, the antenna plug and the connection end constitute an SMA type socket. This guy socket is the most frequently used for connecting an antenna to a station and the user thus has a large choice of antenna type.
Advantageously, the manually activatable holding means is constituted by a latching mechanism ensuring locking of the adaptation element in the housing. This ensures easy attachment and separation of the station and the antenna.
According to a preferred application, the set is a portable radiotelephone.
The invention also relates to an adaptation element and a station provided for such an adaptation system.
- la figure 1 est une vue éclatée en coupe d'un mode de réalisation du système selon l'invention ;
- Figure 1 is an exploded sectional view of an embodiment of the system according to the invention;
- Figure 2 is a sectional view of the elements of Figure 1 assembled, an antenna being attached to the connection end of the adapter element.
Figures 1 and 2 show sections of a preferred embodiment of the system according to the invention.
The system according to the invention is suitable for plugging an antenna of any type into a box of a radio transmitting and / or receiving station. It consists of an
It is expected that the electrical contact between the
The
L'axe de rotation du levier 25 est noté 30.This holding means is here constituted by a
When the manually activatable holding means is constituted by a latching mechanism ensuring a locking of the adaptation element in the housing of the station, like that shown, the maneuvers of securing-detaching of the antenna, equipped with the
As shown in Figure 2, the
In general, it is advantageous to use on the one hand a means of connection of the axial type adaptation element which penetrates axially into the base and on the other hand an electrical connection end with a screw which cooperates with the antenna plug, so that activation of the holding means allows simultaneous axial extraction of the antenna and the adapter element.
Of course, the
When the various constituent elements of the system are assembled, electrical continuity is obtained between the core and the ground of the antenna on the one hand and the
Confining the
The present invention applies to any type of radio transmitter and / or receiver station, and in particular to portable type radiotelephones. It allows any existing antenna to be attached to a specific station, the attachment achieved allowing a high number of operations. Its application to portable radiotelephones is advantageous insofar as their antennas are frequently removed, to facilitate their transport when not in use.
