Abstract

In order to fill a spacer frame (3) for insulating glass panes which contains a drying agent (2), an initially drying-agent-free hollow profile (4) is bent a number of times in order to form the frame corners (5) and left open in region of the last corner (6). Thereafter, a drying agent (2) is introduced at the open point of the frame legs (7 and 8), provided for definitive closure, and the frame (3) is then closed definitively. In order to achieve higher cycle times, one after the other, a plurality of spacer frames (3) are bent a number of times in order to form the frame corners (5) and are left open in the region of the last corner (6) and advanced, with the open end sides transverse to the plane defined by the frames (3) in each case, during the filling procedure simultaneously beneath filling openings (12 and 13) of a filling station (10), with the result that, during their advancement along the filling openings (12 and 13), the frame legs (7 and 8) are filled, that is to say the frame legs (7 and 8) of a plurality of spacer frames (3) following one after the other in the advancement direction are simultaneously filled at least partially.
