Abstract

PCT No. PCT/FR92/00306 Sec. 371 Date Dec. 6, 1993 Sec. 102(e) Date Dec. 6, 1993 PCT Filed Apr. 6, 1992 PCT Pub. No. WO92/17082 PCT Pub. Date Oct. 15, 1992.A novel system of rapidly securing a button using stud or thread is described, with the possibility of recovering the button after fitting. Improved appearance is achieved by rendering the stud penetration hole invisible on its upper surface. The button comprises an upper part or cup which can be fitted if necessary with a decorative cover (4). It also comprises a support or base with a transverse through hole (6) used for recovering the button or securing it in a conventional manner, the stud penetration hole having two retaining lugs, and also a serrated (2) or coarse (8) stud for securing the button to the fabric (7). The aim of the invention is to improve the appearance of existing "quick fit" buttons, to enable said buttons to be recovered, and to allow them to be secured in a conventional manner.

Description

The present invention relates to a quick-fixing button with pick or wire, recoverable after installation.

  • le brevet US-A-2863 197, pui montre les caractéristiques du préambule de la revendication 1, montre un bouton dont la tige métallique barbelée s'enfonce dans la base du bouton pour accrocher les barbes de son pic dans la matière. Il y a de par ce fait dégradation évidente de la matière et impossibilité de récupérer le bouton;
  • pic et trou de pénétration visibles et inesthétiques;
  • boutons difficilement ou pas récupérables;
  • boutons ne pouvant pas être fixer traditionnellement;
  • manipulation malaisée;
  • nécessité de cacher le trou de pénétration par une capsule ou un couvercle;
There are currently different types of buttons using a spike for fixing the button; especially:
  • US-A-2863 197, then shows the characteristics of the preamble of claim 1, shows a button whose barbed metal rod is inserted into the base of the button to hang the barbs of its peak in the material. There is thereby obvious degradation of the material and inability to recover the button;
  • US-A-1981 813, the retention of which is done by tongues, gripping during the introduction the "pushpin" peak, the surface of which has no roughness or roughness allowing friction to be retained. There are also known other quick-fixing buttons with through peak (patent FR A 1019 518 for example) but these have the following disadvantages:
  • visible and unsightly peak and penetration hole;
  • buttons difficult or not recoverable;
  • buttons that cannot be fixed traditionally;
  • awkward handling;
  • need to hide the penetration hole by a capsule or cover;
  • need for significant deformation of the hole or penetration slots.

The present invention therefore proposes to remedy all these drawbacks in a simple, precise and effective manner.

The originality of our button consists in the design of the fixing system, in the use of the lateral holes for the recovery of the button, in its versatility (fast and traditional), and in its aesthetic advantages.

The introduction of a spindle right through the base of the button during injection, or by any other technical means having the same result, reduces the material at the level of the central hole and creates two pins, whose flexibility during of the penetration of the peak allow the blocking and the retention of the button.

This system has the advantage of:
  • Allow by the reduced and adapted size of the peak to prevent it from appearing after fixing, which removes the unsightly appearance of the previous buttons
  • Allow to sew the button traditionally using the side holes existing at its base.
  • Allow the button to be recovered later without damaging it by inserting a point or a pointed object into the side holes to repel the rod.
  • Allow the head of the pick to be used as a counter-button when it is necessary (leather, fur,).
  • Allow easier handling by using picks adapted to the thickness of the support.

Figure 1 shows a peak with locking notch.

La figure 2 représente une variante de l'ensemble bouton-pic à cran avec couvercle emboité.FIG. 2 represents a variant of the notched button-spike assembly with fitted cover.

As in Figure 1, the tip is terminated by a sphere or an ogive (1) responsible for spreading the fibers of the fabric, and a pick head (3) responsible for retaining the button to the fabric.

In FIG. 5, a button fixed at its base by a peak, the roughness of which due to sanding (8) allows it to be locked against the pins (9). These pins are the result of the weakening of material on each side of the central hole due to the introduction of the spindle during manufacture or by any other technical means giving the same result. A housing (5) is provided for the tip of the peak.

As in the variants of Figures 2 and 3, the button is pierced with a hole from side to side allowing recovery of the button and / or its traditional fixing by thread and needle.

This variant can accept the interlocking of a decorative cover.

In FIG. 6, the button shown in this variant is fixed in the same way as in FIG. 5 and can accept the covering of a decorative cover (4).
