Abstract

PCT No. PCT/FR92/00306 Sec. 371 Date Dec. 6, 1993 Sec. 102(e) Date Dec. 6, 1993 PCT Filed Apr. 6, 1992 PCT Pub. No. WO92/17082 PCT Pub. Date Oct. 15, 1992.A novel system of rapidly securing a button using stud or thread is described, with the possibility of recovering the button after fitting. Improved appearance is achieved by rendering the stud penetration hole invisible on its upper surface. The button comprises an upper part or cup which can be fitted if necessary with a decorative cover (4). It also comprises a support or base with a transverse through hole (6) used for recovering the button or securing it in a conventional manner, the stud penetration hole having two retaining lugs, and also a serrated (2) or coarse (8) stud for securing the button to the fabric (7). The aim of the invention is to improve the appearance of existing "quick fit" buttons, to enable said buttons to be recovered, and to allow them to be secured in a conventional manner.

Description

The present invention relates to a button with quick fixing by pick or by wire, with the possibility of recovering it after installation.
The originality of this button consists in the design of the fixing system, in its versatility (fast and traditional), in the recovery of the button, and in its aesthetic advantages.
We know the quick-fixing buttons with crossing spike but these have the following disadvantages:
- pic et trou de pénétration visibles et inesthétiques- visible and unsightly peak and penetration hole
- boutons difficilement ou pas récupérables- buttons difficult or not recoverable
The present invention proposes to remedy all these drawbacks in a simple, precise and effective manner. The introduction during manufacture, at the injection stage, of a spindle right through the base of the button reduces the material at the level of the hole and creates two lugs, the flexibility of which during penetration of the peak allow blocking and retaining the button.
This peak consists of a conical part responsible only for piercing the fabric, a cylindrical part whose surface has a sanded or notched appearance which will allow the button to be retained, and the peak head.
Ce système a 1'avantage de :This system has the advantage of:
- Permettre par la taille réduite et adaptée du pic d' éviter que celui-ci n'apparaisse après la fixation, ce qui supprime l'aspect inesthétique des précédents boutons- Allow the reduced and adapted size of the peak to prevent it from appearing after fixing, which removes the unsightly appearance of the previous buttons
- Permettre de coudre traditionnellement le bouton en utili -sant les trous laissés par la broche.- Allow the button to be sewn traditionally using the holes left by the spindle.
- Permettre de récupérer par la suite le bouton sans 1'en¬ dommager en introduisant une pointe ou un objet pointu dans les trous latéraux pour repousser la tige.- Allow the button to be recovered later without damaging it by introducing a point or a pointed object into the lateral holes to push the rod back.
- Permettre d'utiliser la tête de pic comme contre-bouton quand celui-ci est nécessaire (cuir, fourrure,-..).- Allow the pick head to be used as a counter-button when it is necessary (leather, fur, - ..).
La figure 2 représente une variante de 1'ensemble bouton- pic à cran avec couvercle emboité.- Allow easier handling by using picks adapted to the thickness of the support. Figure 1 shows a peak with locking notch. FIG. 2 represents a variant of the notched button-spike assembly with fitted cover.
FIG. 5 represents a variant of the button-spike assembly with a sandblasted rod with a fitted cover. FIG. 6 represents a variant of the button-spike assembly with a sanded rod with a cover overlay.
In FIG. 1, a plastic pick having a conical part (2) responsible on the one hand for piercing the fabric and on the other hand for retaining the button. The point is terminated by a sphere or ogive (1) responsible for spreading the fibers of the fabric. Part (3) represents the pick head that holds the button to the fabric.
