Claims (10)

  1. Electric steam iron having a casing (1) whose rear forms a heel (2) and a base (3) heated by an electrical resistance (4), and able to occupy two positions, either an ironing position in which it rests on the base (3) or an idle position in which it rests on the heel (2), the base (3) having a partition (5) forming, with a closure plate (6), a vaporisation chamber (7) which is fed with water from a reservoir (8) and which on the one hand is in communication with a steam distribution chamber (9) having openings (10) for distributing steam to the outside, and on the other hand has a so-called descaling orifice (11) opening out into a rear part of the iron and closed off by obturation means which are mounted so as to be removable, characterised in that the obturation means include a removable receptacle (12) for recovering fur communicating with the vaporisation chamber (7) through a baffle (13), so that the fur in the vaporisation chamber (7) falls into the receptacle (12), notably when the iron occupies its idle position.
  2. Iron according to Claim 1, characterised in that, since the descaling orifice (11) opens out into the closure plate (6), the rim (11') of the said orifice thus partly forms, with the partition (5) of the vaporisation chamber (7), the said baffle (13).
  3. Iron according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the bottom (14) of the receptacle (12) is arranged below the level of the descaling orifice (11) and the obturation means include a declivity (15) extending from the said orifice (11) to the bottom (14) of the receptacle (12) so as to prevent, in the ironing position, the return of any fur present in the receptacle (12) to the vaporisation chamber (7).
  4. Iron according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the receptacle (12) and the casing (1) have mutual locking means.
  5. Iron according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the obturation means include a channel (16), one end of which is mounted sealingly on the outlet of the descaling orifice (11) and the other end of which is fitted with a sealing joint (17) with the receptacle (12).
  6. Iron according to Claim 5, characterised in that, the closure plate (6) being separated from the casing (1) by a heat screen (18) made of heat-resistant plastic, the channel (16) is formed in one piece with the said screen (18) and has an inclined region forming the declivity (15).
  7. Iron according to Claim 5 or 6, characterised in that the locking means include a rigid stop (22) fixed to the casing (1) and a flexible stop formed by the joint (17), so that the receptacle (12) is fitted elastically between the casing (1) and the joint (17).
  8. Iron according to Claim 7, characterised in that, the reservoir (8) being removable and disposed in a housing (19) formed in the rear part of the casing (1), the receptacle (12) has a finger (20) projecting into an aperture (21) formed in the housing (19) and accessible from the said housing, so that the receptacle (12) can be released by pressing on the said finger (20).
  9. Iron according to Claim 7, characterised in that the receptacle (12) has an unlocking stud (23) situated in its rear region, so that the receptacle (12) can be unlocked by pressing on the said stud.
  10. Iron according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the receptacle (12) is produced from a plastic of the thermosetting type, and which preferably has a certain degree of transparency.
