Abstract

The invention relates to a cover for the front-side of electrical switching devices, especially low-voltage power circuit breakers, having a slot-shaped perforation for the rocker lever, having attachment devices for a mechanical rotating drive or a motor drive and for covering spaces, which are arranged on the circuit breaker housing, for trip devices, auxiliary switches or the like. It solves the problem of costly attachment and opening of the cover and the risk of losing and interchanging such covers. For this purpose, the cover (2) is constructed with bearing limbs (8, 9) which are bent through 90 DEG with respect to the plane of the cover, engage over the circuit breaker housing (3) at the sides and are parallel to one another, and by means of which it is supported by means of a rotating bearing (10), having rotating bearing journals and rotating bearing openings which engage coaxially in one another, such that it can be folded up on the circuit breaker housing (3). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a cover for the front of electrical switching devices with rocker arm actuation, in particular low-voltage circuit breakers, according to the preamble of claim 1.

In electrical switchgear with rocker arm actuation, and especially in low-voltage circuit breakers, the front of the switch housing can be covered with a cover, which can have a slot-shaped opening for the rocker arm of the switch lock and on both sides of it fastening devices for a mechanical rotary drive or a motor drive. The cover can also cover spaces for shunt releases and / or auxiliary switches and the like arranged on both sides of the rocker arm on the switch housing.

Such covers are usually screwed to the switch housing, which requires a comparatively large assembly effort. To open the cover, for example to replace the shunt release and / or auxiliary switch located next to the rocker arm on the switch housing, the screw connections must be loosened completely. The cover is then put down with the screws wherever there is space. If the assembly work is interrupted, the cover and the screws can be lost. Also, with simultaneous assembly work on several side-by-side switchgear, the cover of the device can be easily confused, which must be avoided in particular if the switchgear is designed differently and certain labels and symbols, different from switchgear to switchgear, are attached to the cover.

A comparatively large amount of assembly work is also necessary with such screwed covers if, for example, a mechanical rotary drive for the rocker arm attached to the cover is to be replaced by a motor drive. Like the motor drive, the rotary drive can also be partially screwed directly to the switch housing and partially to a mounting plate or control cabinet door.

According to US-A-3 054 880, a cover is known which is non-releasably attached to the inside of the switch housing by means of laterally projecting bearing legs with bearing openings. After loosening a screw connection, the cover can be pivoted against the prestressing force of an elastic and sealing means for viewing the contact spaces by an acute angle and swings back into its closed position when released. There is therefore no use of this cover for installing or mounting shunt releases and / or auxiliary switches. A rotary drive or a motor drive would have to be fastened outside the cover, since the cover neither has suitable fastening options for it nor does it encompass the rocker arm or is adjacent to it.

The invention has for its object to provide a cover according to the preamble of claim 1, in particular with a mounting option for rotary actuators, that on the one hand the assembly work when fastening and opening the cover are simplified and on the other hand the risk of confusing covers of different types of switching devices as well the risk of losing the cover is largely avoided in the simplest possible and assembly-friendly manner.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1. Particularly advantageous developments of the invention can be found in claims 2 to 6.

The invention has the advantage that the cover is held by the rotary bearing on the switch housing with fewer screws essentially captive, without hindering the installation and assembly of suitable shunt releases and / or auxiliary switches in the spaces provided next to the rocker arm of the switching device when the cover is open . Characterized in that the bearing legs of the cover are designed as resilient bearing clips that can be snapped into the interlocking pivot pins and pivot openings on the side walls of the switch housing, the cover can be easily mounted on the switch housing at any time and also removed again. This is particularly advantageous if, for example, a mechanical rotary drive for the rocker arm of the key switch is attached to the cover and is to be replaced by a motor drive. The cover has a step-like protruding planar approach in the area of the fastening of the rotary drive as a base for the housing of the rotary drive, so that the assembly unit of the cover and the mechanical rotary drive can be replaced by a corresponding other structural unit of the cover and motor drive by simply clipping onto the switch housing. For a secure attachment of the rotary drive to the cover, it is advantageous that the internal dimensions of the housing of the rotary drive match the external dimensions of the step-shaped approach correspond so that the housing overlaps the approach edge.

The lid can have several openings or openings for screws for fastening the rotary drive on the inside of the step-shaped extension on both sides of the recess for the rocker arm of the switching lock for the switch lock, which are closed towards the front of the cover by thin, film-like wall parts suitable for puncturing.

It is also advantageous if the cover below the cover of the switch lock and the spaces for shunt releases and / or auxiliary switches has a cover panel with window-like openings for reading the setting values on a trigger block arranged below the switch lock. The cover surfaces on both sides of the rocker arm can be used to hold identification and rating plates, while the cover block below can be used to protect the release block underneath against unauthorized manipulation in a simple manner. For this purpose, according to a further feature of the invention, the cover can also have an opening on one of its two longitudinal edges for the passage of a sealing wire, which makes it possible to detect an unauthorized opening of the cover.

It is also particularly advantageous that the cover is made of a resilient, dimensionally stable plastic, such as polycarbonate or polyester thermoplastic, which gives the angled legs with the pivot bearings sufficient strength for clipping onto the switch housing.

The bearing legs of the cover can also have end edges that are angled with respect to the front of the cover and come into contact with vertical counter-stop edges on the side walls of the switch housing when the cover is open horizontally, which is set back against the front of the switch housing next to the interlocking pivot pins and pivot bearing openings for the bearing legs are. As a result, the opened lid is securely held in the horizontal position and can be used as a storage for small parts, auxiliary switches and the like during assembly work to serve. However, these stops can be omitted if the rotary drive is too heavy or if the cover is subjected to a greater load, so that the cover can be freely folded down to the fully open position on the switch housing.

The two parallel bearing legs 8, 9 of the cover 2 are designed as resilient bearing clips, which can be snapped into place with the interlocking pivot pins and pivot bearing openings on the side walls 11, 12 of the switch housing 3. For this pivot bearing 10 can either pivot from the side walls 11, 12 of the switch housing 3 pivot pins protrude outwards, which engage in corresponding pivot bearing openings on the two bearing legs 8, 9. Conversely, it is also possible that coaxial rotary pivot pins 14, 15 (FIGS. 5 to 7) each protrude inward from the bearing legs 8, 9 and engage in corresponding pivot bearing openings on the side walls 11, 12 of the switch housing 3.

For the attachment of the rotary drive 31 or a suitable motor drive, the cover 2 has a step-like protruding planar extension 32, which serves as the bottom for the housing 33 of the rotary drive 31. The inside dimensions of the housing 33 of the rotary drive 31 correspond to the outer dimensions of the step-shaped extension 32 such that the housing 33 overlaps the extension 32 on the edge. The cover 2 is advantageously made of a resilient, particularly dimensionally stable plastic, such as polycarbonate or polyester thermoplastic, and has on its inside on both sides of the opening 4 for the rocker arm 5 of the key switch several openings 30 or openings for screws for fastening the rotary drive 31 for the Switch lock on, which are closed towards the lid front by thin, film-like wall parts suitable for puncturing.

In addition to the cover of the key switch and rooms 6, 7 for shunt releases and / or auxiliary switches, the cover 2 has a cover panel 20 with window-like openings 21, 22 for reading the setting values on a release block 23 (FIGS. 1 to 3) which is below the Switch lock is arranged and has, for example, two knobs 24, 25 with setting marks and rotary slot 26 for screwdrivers such that the setting marks on the knobs 24, 25 can be read through the openings 21, 22 on the cover panel 20 with the cover 2 closed. In addition, lugs 27, 28 protrude into these openings 21, 22 from below in a known manner, which, when the cover 2 is closed, cover the rotary slots 26 on the rotary buttons 24, 25.

The cover 2 also has an opening 29 on one of its two vertical longitudinal edges for the passage of a sealing wire, with which the cover 2 can be secured against uncontrolled opening.

For the stop limitation of the cover 2 in the open position shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the bearing legs 8, 9 can be angled at the end, preferably at an angle of 90 ° with respect to the front of the cover Stop edges 16, 17, which come to rest when the cover 2 is opened horizontally on corresponding vertical counter stop edges 18, 19 (FIGS. 1 and 2) on the side walls 11, 12 of the switch housing 3, the counter stop edges 18, 19 facing the front 13 of the switch housing 3 next to the interlocking pivot pin and pivot bearing openings for the bearing legs 8, 9 are set back accordingly.
