Claims (5)

  1. A device for actuating a dispensing mechanism, such as a pump or valve equipping a container containing a product to be dispensed, the dispensing mechanism including a tubular stem for actuation by pushing that is axially movable and provided with a dispensing opening, the said actuating device including a push button mounted at the end of the stem for actuating the dispensing mechanism and provided with an outlet nozzle arranged substantially at the centre of its outer face, which is aligned and in communication with the said stem, and a substantially cylindrical component comprising an upper annular surface constituting a zone for the application of force, and bearing means capable of cooperating with stop means in such a way that an application of an actuating force at any point of the said upper annular surface of the actuating component produces the displacement of the push button and of the actuating stem for actuating the dispensing mechanism, characterized in that the actuating component (10) is connected to the push button (6) by a swivel joint (7, 14), the push button (6) having a hemispherical upper portion (7), at the top whereof there is arranged the outlet nozzle (9), the actuating component (10) including a central open chamber defined by a side (14) with a spherical profile, wherein the hemispherical portion (7) of the push button is engaged with a corresponding shape and with scope for relative rotation.
  2. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the actuating component (10) includes an inner cylindrical sleeve (12) wherein the said chamber is formed and an outer cylindrical sleeve (11), the said sleeves being coaxial and rigidly connected to each other, preferably by a continuous web (13) with a frustoconical profile.
  3. A device according to claim 2, characterized in that the top annular surface forming the zone for the application of force is made in the form of an outer circumferential flange (15) at the upper end of the outer sleeve (11).
  4. A device according to any one of claims 2 and 3, characterized in that the outer sleeve (11) includes at its lower end a second outer circumferential flange (16) coming to bear against an inner circumferential flange (5) at the upper end of a cylindrical collar (4) mounted at the upper end of the container (1) and accommodating the dispensing mechanism (2).
  5. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the push button (6) is joined to the stem (3) of the dispensing mechanism (2), in particular with a force fit.
