Diese Möglichkeit bietet ein bekannter Kantenschutz (GB 2 242 125), der als Z-Profil gespritzt ist und an dem Z-Steg ein Filmscharnier aufweist, so daß zwei gelenkig miteinander verbundene Winkelprofile gebildet sind. Das eine Winkelprofil übergreift mit seinem kurzen Schenkel die Oberseite der Kernplatte und überragt mit seinem langen Schenkel deren Unterseite. Das andere Winkelprofil wird nach innen geschwenkt, so daß sein einer Schenkel parallel zum langen Schenkel des anderen Winkelprofils liegt, während sein anderer Schenkel die Unterseite der Platte untergreift. Dabei rastet dieses zweite Winkelprofil hinter einen die Schnittfläche der Kernplatte abdeckenden Steg am kurzen Schenkel des anderen Winkelprofils ein. Es handelt sich also um eine Art Montagerahmen, bei dem die Verrastung zwangsläufig Spiel benötigt. Anschließend wird der innere Rahmen bei etwa paralleler Anordnung mit dem äußeren Rahmen von oben auf die Unterseite der Kernplatte aufgebracht, so daß sein äußerer Schenkel am langen Schenkel des äußeren Rahmens innenseitig vollständig oder auch nur bereichsweise anliegt und sein anderer Schenkel der Unterseite der Kernplatte aufliegt. Durch die Verbindung der einander anliegenden Schenkel, z.B. durch Schweißen oder Kleben, ist ein geschlossenes rahmenartiges Gebilde gegeben, das die Kernplatte vollständig umgibt, deren gegebenenfalls offenporige Schnittflächen abdeckt und die Kanten der Kernplatte ober- und unterseitig übergreift, so daß die Schnittflächen gegen Zutritt von Schmutz und Feuchtigkeit wirksam geschützt sind. Damit ergibt sich ein ebenso funktionsgerechter Aufbau wie bei einem aufgespritzten Kantenschutz. Auch die Fertigungstechnik ist nicht oder nur unwesentlich aufwendiger. Auf der anderen Seite ist es aber ohne weiteres möglich, den Kantenschutz mit geringem Kraftaufwand von der Kernplatte zu entfernen und diese beiden Komponenten sortenrein zu gewinnen, da es an einer stoffschlüssigen bzw. - bei aufgespritztem Kantenschutz - innigen Verbindung von Kantenschutz und Kernplatte fehlt.The two closed frames made of angular profiles can be easily produced by injection molding and thus have a sufficiently dimensionally stable design. Dadurch entsteht ein Plattenverbund, bei dem die oben liegende Kernplatte die Aufgabe einer Abdeck- und Arbeitsplatte erfüllt, also beispielsweise aus einem schnitt- und kratzfesten Material besteht oder eine Beschichtung mit diesen Eigenschaften aufweist, während die unten liegende Dämmplatte eine thermische oder akustische Isolierung schafft. Wird ein solcher Plattenverbund bei einem Kühlmöbel eingesetzt, kann die Dämmplatte beispielsweise die üblicherweise im Kühlmöbelgehäuse eingebaute obere Isolierung ersetzen.
