Description

The invention relates to an air curtain system for generating an air flow for shielding rooms provided with an opening, in particular for generating an air curtain, consisting of a housing which is preferably to be attached to the edge of the opening to be shielded and which has an air intake and an air outlet opening the entire length of the air outlet opening is provided with at least one longitudinally extending air deflection lamella through which the emerging air flow is guided in a plane that is essentially parallel to the opening, furthermore with a blower device arranged inside the housing and a heating device provided in the flow area of the air and / or the cooling device has the fins or the like and air passage openings formed between the fins, and a filter device in the flow direction of the air is connected upstream.

Such an air curtain system, which is used in particular in the area of doors in shops, department stores and the like, which should be open regardless of the outside temperature in order to enable unimpeded access by customers, is known from EP 0 362 958 A1, at at the air outlet opening a plurality of air deflection blades are arranged side by side and parallel to one another in such a way that turbulence in the air flow is at least avoided or reduced.

In order to avoid energy losses in winter and to support the air conditioning system in summer, such air curtain systems must generate an air curtain that is as closed as possible and extends across the entire opening cross-section of the door.

Similar applications also occur, for example, in the area of industrial gates, which also have to be kept open due to the constant passage of vehicles, forklifts and the like.

The air curtain systems are usually installed above the door opening, the air curtain on the one hand extending completely from the left to the right edge of the door opening and on the other hand reaching to the floor.

In practice, however, it has been found that flow conditions occur in particular at the lateral edges which do not lead to complete fogging there, so that not only heat losses but also over this area annoying drafts also occur. These effects are also influenced by the flow velocity of the air, so that regular maintenance and replacement of the filter device, which is generally not readily accessible, ensures a largely constant air throughput got to.

The invention has for its object to provide an air curtain system of the type mentioned in such a way that sufficient shielding by the air flow is achieved even in the lateral edge region of the openings, wherein a quick and regular maintenance and cleaning of the filter device should be possible to maintain uniform air flow conditions.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the filter device is formed by an intake grille arranged in the air intake opening, the air passage openings of which have a smaller clear width than that of the heating / cooling device to retain impurities in the form of dust particles and the like, and in that At both ends of the air outlet opening there is in each case at least one side lamella which is oriented transversely to the air deflection lamella and which points with its free end obliquely to the adjacent edge of the opening which runs in the direction of the air flow.

The advantage achieved by the invention is first of all that the impurities retained by the filter device in the form of dust particles and the like settle on the outside of the intake grille, from where they are removed even by laymen, for example by suction, without any assembly or disassembly of the housing can be. In this way, frequent and regular cleaning of the filter device formed by the intake grille is possible, so that changes in the flow profile of the air curtain by reducing the air throughput are largely excluded.

Another advantage of the invention can be seen in the fact that the flow portion in the edge area of the air curtain is increased by the side lamellae, as a result of which a greater side shielding and, through the effect of the Coanda effect, a closed air curtain is also achieved in the edge area.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the intake grille is formed from a sheet metal provided with holes arranged in a regular grid, which tightly seals the air intake opening at the edge. The distance between the bores should be as small as possible and is ultimately determined solely by the required stability of the intake grille. The holes can have a round or regularly polygonal edge contour.

It is further provided in an expedient embodiment of the invention that the intake grille is provided on its longitudinal edges with bevelled connecting lugs which engage under tension in groove pockets from a self-supporting frame construction for the profile strips forming the housing. As a result, the solution according to the invention can also be used in those air curtain systems in which an adaptation of the device length to any door width is provided by a combined self-supporting frame construction.

The side lamella can advantageously be provided with a recess which extends to its free end and which accommodates the air-deflecting lamella and forms a limit stop for the air-deflecting lamella on both sides.

In order to enable an individual adjustment of the air flow in the edge region, it can further be provided that the side lamella can be pivoted about an axis which is essentially perpendicular to the plane of the air deflection lamella. In addition, the side lamella can also be pivotable about an axis parallel to the outflow direction of the air, so that the flow conditions in the edge region of the air curtain can be influenced to a very large extent.

Finally, there is also the possibility that the side plate is firmly connected to the air deflection plate.

The air curtain system shown in the drawing is used to generate an air flow by means of which building openings, that is to say doors, gates, hatches and the like, are to be shielded. The air curtain system consists in particular of one, preferably not shown in the drawing, at the edge of the shielding Opening to be attached housing 1 with an air intake opening 2 and an air outlet opening 3. The air outlet opening 3 extends essentially over the entire length of the housing and is provided with an air deflection lamella 4 running in the longitudinal direction. The air flow exiting through the air outlet opening 3 is guided in an adjustable manner in a plane essentially parallel to the opening by means of this air deflecting lamella 4.

Furthermore, a blower device 5 and a heating and / or cooling device 6 provided in the flow area of the air are arranged in the interior of the housing 1, which are preceded by a filter device 7 in the flow direction of the air. The blower device 5 is formed by a radial fan, which radially conveys the axially sucked-in air into a compensating channel 8, into which the air outlet opening 3 opens. The filter device 7 is formed by an intake grille 9 arranged in the air intake opening, the air passage openings 10 of which have a smaller clear width than that of the heating / cooling device. This avoids contamination of the heating / cooling device 6, which is generally equipped with fins 11 indicated in the drawing for heat transfer, without special filter elements, since the dirt particles on the outside of the housing 1 are caught on the intake grille 9. As a result, frequent, simple and quick cleaning of this filter device is possible, since the dirt particles accumulating on the outside can be removed, for example, with the aid of a vacuum cleaner.

At each of the two ends of the air outlet opening 3, a side lamella 13 is provided, which is oriented transversely to the air deflection lamella 4 and, with its free end 13.1, points obliquely to the adjacent edge of the opening that runs in the direction of the air flow.

The intake grille 9 is formed according to FIG. 3 by a sheet metal provided with holes arranged in a regular grid and forming the air passage openings 10, which tightly seals the air intake opening 2 at the edges, and contrary to the simplified illustration in FIG. 3, the entire sheet metal surface with holes is provided. In the exemplary embodiment, the bores have a round edge contour, but likewise the bores can have a regularly polygonal, in particular hexagonal, shape.

The intake grille 9 is provided on its longitudinal edges with chamfered connecting straps 9.1, which engage under tension in groove pockets 12.1 of profile strips 12, which form a self-supporting frame construction for the housing 1. As a result, the intake grille 9 can easily be used by simply cutting to length on housing constructions which can be adapted to any door widths using a simple modular design using frame profiles.

The side lamella 13 is provided with a recess 14 which extends to its free end and which accommodates the air deflection lamella 4 and forms a limit stop for the air deflection lamella 4 on both sides.

The side plate 13 can be pivoted in a manner not shown in the drawing about an axis substantially perpendicular to the plane of the air deflection plate, thereby adapting the flow conditions to the to enable special properties of the building or opening. For this purpose, the side lamella 13 can also be pivotable about an axis parallel to the outflow direction of the air. Finally, there is also the possibility that the side plate 13 is firmly connected to the air deflection plate.

The housing is closed on the end face by a cover plate 15, shown removed, and a cover cap 16. The remaining wall parts 17 of the housing 1 are formed by molded sheets inserted into the frame profiles.

Finally, in FIG. 1, 18 also denotes an electrical assembly that serves to control and regulate.
