Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a high chair for children of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1, as is known from US-A-2 624 393. Highchairs for children are usually used only for the purpose, for example, of putting children together at tables with adults at normal height. This means that the highchairs only have a very limited range of use and if they are not placed on tables intended for adults, the problem arises of having to stow them in the least impairing way.
From US-A-2 624 393 a multi-function piece of furniture is known which can be used as a chair, swing, ladder or as a shelf. In this piece of furniture, two frame parts are connected to one another with at least one strut and connecting elements, which are, for example, steps. The two frame parts are designed so that the different functions are possible. In three different positions, the functions can be used as seating and as a swing. In one position is additional the function as a ladder or shelf is possible. Depending on the selected function, the connecting elements form the seat, the stairs or the shelves for a shelf.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a high chair for children, with increased stability against tipping when used as a rocking chair, which can also be used as child-friendly furniture when it is not provided for a table intended for adults.
According to the invention this object is achieved in a high chair of the type mentioned by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. The high chair according to the invention is characterized in that it can be used in the usual way as a high chair in order to set children so high that they can sit comfortably at tables intended for adults. On the other hand, the high chair can be placed on its arcuately curved runners, which may have previously formed backrests of the high chair, so that the high chair now has the function of a tilt-resistant rocking chair in which children can sit comfortably or almost lie down and thereby be immobilized. Is the high chair provided with a high chair seat and with a rocking chair seat, no conversion is required to use the combination furniture according to the invention as a high chair and as a rocking chair for children. The fact that the profiles forming the runners are extended beyond the triangle tips, in which they meet the edges or profiles of the other triangle sides emanating from the standing square, can increase the stability against tipping when used as a rocking chair and at the same time the extended runners can Form extended backrests when used as a high chair.
The side frame parts of the high chair can consist of plates. However, the frame parts are expediently formed only or predominantly from the edge profiles which delimit them. The profiles can consist of injection molded or blown plastic profiles. The profiles can also be formed from metal profiles, for example steel profiles. The profiles are expediently tubular.
The upper ends of the skid-forming profiles with respect to the high chair are expediently connected to one another by a transverse yoke. This transverse yoke can form the backrest and at the same time serve to fasten a backrest part extending to the seat.
The high chair seat and the rocking chair seat can be firmly connected to the frame parts or the profiles forming them or to the cross struts connecting the frame parts. The seats can also be detachably connected to the frame parts, so that only one seat is required, which can be implemented depending on the desired use. The seats can be connected to the frame parts and / or the cross struts by screwing or also by plug connections.
In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that tables and / or toy inserts can be connected to the frame parts. These can immediately form safety devices for the child sitting on the seat, so that the child cannot fall off the seat by careless movements.
Safety belts for the child can also be connected to the frame parts or profiles, which are useful if there are no securing tables or toy inserts.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, it is provided that freely rotatably mounted rollers are arranged in an end region of the triangular sides forming the rocking chair runners. These castors make it easy to move the rocking chair by simply lifting it on one side.
