Abstract

The inner tube (11) has an axially extending catch strip. Guided between the inner tube and the outer tube (12) is a slide (16) which can be moved out of a locking position by finger pressure. The slide is capable of holding down a cylinder body (26) held in the catch strip in the locking position by means of a locking surface (23) which can be moved along the catch strip, and of releasing said cylinder body in the unlocking position. In both axial directions of movement, the slide has at least one unlocking region (27) in each case and can be moved counter to a spring restoring force in each case into its positions which release the cylinder body. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a telescopic vacuum cleaner suction pipe according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a vacuum cleaner suction tube is already known from US-A-3 351 363. In this prior art, it is advantageously possible to lock an inner and an outer tube axially detachably with one another via a fastening or actuating device. The locking of the inner and outer tube can be released by finger pressure on a slide that is longitudinally displaceable on the outer tube and spring-loaded in both axial directions, in which the slide is moved from the unloaded rest position - which also corresponds to the locking position - into one of the two axial directions by finger pressure. After releasing the slide from finger pressure, it slides back into its original locking position by spring force.

Since such telescopic vacuum cleaner suction pipes are used by very different users - they can have a small or large body length, be young or old or right-handed or left-handed, etc. - such a locking or actuating device must be as simple and easy to use as possible for everyone his.

In the known vacuum cleaner suction tube, it is possible to achieve an unlocking position by moving the handle by means of finger pressure in both longitudinal directions of the tube, so that the telescopic tubes can be pulled apart. At the same time, the known vacuum cleaner suction pipe has the locking position in the rest position of the spring, so that after the handle is released the same moves immediately from both unlocking positions - and without the user doing anything - into the locking position. This makes it technically unskillful or untalented users to be able to reach the unlocking position almost instantly, since the movement of the handle in either of the two possible longitudinal directions of the tubes achieves the desired success - that is, the unlocking of the tubes. At the same time, the tubes are automatically locked together when the handle is released, so that this type of locking and actuating device can rightly be described as completely "foolproof".

Die Erfindung löst diese Aufgabe gemäß den Merkmalen des Kennzeichenteils des Anspruchs 1.Based on the subject of US-A-3 351 363, the invention has for its object to provide a telescopic vacuum cleaner suction tube, which allows a simplified design of greater reliability. The invention solves this problem according to the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

Due to the construction according to the invention, it is no longer necessary to use two helical compression springs, but a rod spring which is only fixed on the guide body and is connected to the actuating shoulder is able to counteract the to apply a spring force to both potentially possible directions of movement, which in any case brings the slide (handle) back into the rest or locking position.

Further advantages and features essential to the invention result from the subclaim and from the exemplary embodiment of the invention illustrated in the drawings. Show it:
  • 1 shows a section through a telescopic vacuum cleaner suction pipe with actuating and locking device, although the invention is not shown, and
  • Fig. 2 is a plan view of the guide body including the actuating approach and bar spring.

In the drawing, a telescopic vacuum cleaner suction tube is generally designated by the reference number 10.

The suction pipe 10 has an inner pipe 11 and an outer pipe 12. The outer tube 12 is provided at its illustrated end with a sleeve-like widening 13. In the free space 14 located between the inner tube outer jacket surface 28 and the outer tube inner jacket surface 29, a plastic guide body 15 is arranged which is essentially circular in cross section.

A slide 16, which is movable along the longitudinal axis x of the tube, is held in the guide body 15 there is an actuating projection 17 and a handle 19. The handle 19 is positively and non-positively connected to the actuating projection 17, which extends through a recess 18 through the outer tube 12.

The actuating projection 17, which is arranged on the peripheral surface 20 of the guide body 15 so as to be longitudinally displaceable (in the direction of the double arrow), is held in the middle on the peripheral surface 20 of the guide body 15 by means of an annular rod spring 32 located in its neutral spring rest position in a movement path defined by guide strips (not shown).

A locking surface 23 is arranged in the center on the side of the actuating projection 17 facing the outer tube 12. This locking surface 23 can close an opening 24 in the guide body 15, a roller body 26 being held in the opening 24 and in a recess 25 arranged below it in the inner tube 11. On both sides of the locking surface 23 of the actuating projection 17 there is a cavity 27, which has a trapezoidal shape and, in the case of unlocking, offers space for the rolling element 26.

In the drawing, the locking position is shown, since in the present case the locking surface 23 of the actuating projection 17 prevents the Rolling body 26 prevented upwards. This means that in the position of the slide 19 shown in relation to the rolling element 26, a large inner and outer tube 11, 12 pulling force is not able to bring about a relative movement between the inner and outer tube.

If the slide 19 and thus, of course, the actuating projection 17 is moved in one of the directions of the double arrow, so that there is a cavity 27 above the opening 24 in the guide body 15 and thus also above the roller body 26, the same inner and outer tube 11th , 12 pulling force cause the rolling element 26 to be pressed out of the locking recess 25 into a cavity 17, so that the locking between the inner and outer tubes 11, 12 is released. When the finger pressure is removed, the slide 19 slides back into the rest position due to the spring restoring force of the bar spring 32, and if a differential force acts on the inner and outer tubes 11, 12 at the same time, the rolling element 26 is moved into the closest latching recess 25 and thus into a new locking position .

The annular rod spring 32 held at both ends in the guide body 15 forcibly returns the actuating projection 17 to the locking position when no more force is applied to the handle 19. The spring rest position of the spring rod 32 would then have to match the locking position. In this in Fig. 2nd In the embodiment shown, the annular bar spring 32 is at least partially held in a groove 33 on the circumferential surface 20 of the half of the guide body 15, not shown, up to approximately the mold-dividing plane (guide bar 34), a section 35 of the bar spring 32 simultaneously engaging in a groove 36 of the actuating projection 17 . Since the bar spring 32 is unguided above the mold division plane between the groove 33 and the groove 36, the bar spring 32 can be deflected in both longitudinal directions of the guide body 15. This always happens when the actuating projection 17 guided between the edge strips 37 on the peripheral surface 20 of the guide body 15 is moved in one of the two possible directions by means of the handle 19.
