Abstract
Description
To support electrical cables or other conduits with respect to walls or ceilings, cable trunks called cable trays are used which are produced by successive sections joined by assembly means. The sections considered can be made of plastic by means of profiles having a U-shaped cross section whose free edges of the wings have a rim parallel to the bottom and oriented inward. The connection of the successive sections is generally carried out by means of bolted fishplates, which requires drilling holes in the sections. Indeed, these being produced by extrusion, it is not possible to provide holes in their walls at the time of manufacture.
It is understood that thus the operations of fixing the successive sections end-to-end is long and costly.
The improvements which are the subject of the present invention aim to remedy these drawbacks and to allow simple and rapid production of the connection of the various successive sections of a plastic cable tray.
Usually, it is often provided to close the open side of the sections by means of a cover which covers this side and snaps relative to the free edges of the edges of the wings of the sections.
According to the invention, such a cover has lateral edges which engage elastically under the upper facet of the longitudinal central groove of the wings of the sections.
The bottom of each wing of the sections is provided with a longitudinal protuberance whose free edge is in the plane of the bottom wall of the bottom of these sections.
When it is desired to improve the assembly of the cover and the sections, elastic stirrups are used, the branches of which hang above the cover and to the protuberances of the bottom of the section.

There is shown in fig. 1 two
Thus, each
It is observed that the
It is observed that the part of the bottom between the
Each splint, which also has the general shape of a U, has a width equal to the interior height of the
The installation of each splint takes place, as illustrated in fig. 2, by obliquely engaging this splint, so that the
5.At the end of the realization of this connection, the two sections-considered are assembled as illustrated in fig. 5.
We have shown in fig. 6 and 7 the manner in which a cover can be associated with the
If, however, additional security is desired, it is possible to use
