Abstract

The key-operated switch enables realization of a switch construction which is extensively independent of the dimensions of standard cylinder locks and mounting thereof independent of the surroundings. A switch housing open at one side comprises side walls, a floor, a lower portion and an upper portion. Longitudinal slots provided at the side walls extend parallel to wide side edges of the side walls and serve for guiding first fastening screws. A housing cover member which fits in the housing opening and having bevelled corners and flaps is displaceable throughout a predetermined distance along the longitudinal slots. At the operator side of the key-operated switch the housing cover member carries a collar connected by second fastening screws with such housing cover member. A throughpass opening is provided at the housing cover member through which piercingly extends a standard cylinder lock attached at the collar. At the operator side of the key-operated switch the cylinder lock is surrounded by the collar and at the housing side is operatively connected with a switch insert member. The dimensions of the throughpass opening are selected such that after removal of the second fastening screws the switch insert member can be removed from the housing at the operator side.

Description

The invention relates to a key switch consisting of a housing open on one side with a housing cover and a commercially available cylinder lock, by means of which a switch insert that performs switching functions is actuated.

From the published patent application DE-A1 28 56 337 a key switch with a housing is known, in the removable cover of which a cylinder lock with a rotatable locking beard is fastened by means of a fastening lug. On the operator side, a seal and a cover plate are attached to the removable cover, which are each provided with a push-through recess for the cylinder lock. The cover, seal and cover plate are connected to the housing using four congruent fastening holes using screws.

A disadvantage of the known device is that the thickness of the seal and cover plate must match the part of the cylinder lock protruding from the operator side of the cover. Matching the seal and cover plate to the lock cylinder is essential, as standard cylinder locks are used for key switches and these have different dimensions depending on the manufacturer.

Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen. The invention seeks to remedy this. The invention, as characterized in the claims, achieves the object of avoiding the disadvantages of the known device and of creating a modular key switch which is largely independent of the dimensions of the cylinder lock.

The advantages achieved by the invention can be seen essentially in the fact that key locks can be realized with cylinder locks of different dimensions, in which cover plates with standardized push-through recesses and different wall thicknesses are used. Another advantage can be seen in the fact that cylinder locks of such key switches can be aligned flush with the surface-mounted cover plates, in particular in the case of flush mounting, regardless of the thickness of the plaster. Another advantage is that such key switches can be installed in existing components such as cladding, door frames and the like, which make a cover plate unnecessary.

  • Fig. 1 eine räumliche Darstellung des erfindungsgemässen Schlüsselschalters,
The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of drawings which illustrate only one embodiment. Show it:
  • 1 is a spatial representation of the key switch according to the invention,
  • 2a and 2b details of a cylinder lock arranged in a collar,
  • Fig. 3 is a development of a side wall and bottom forming housing part and
  • Fig. 4 is a development of a housing cover carrying the collar.

Mit 21 ist eine Abdeckplatte oder in Anwendungen ohne Abdeckplatte ein Türrahmen, eine Verkleidung oder dergleichen bezeichnet.1 to 4, 1 denotes a housing which is open on one side and consists of side walls 2, a base 3, a lower part 4 and an upper part 5.
