Definitions
- the invention relates to a hob according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such a hob is known from EP-A-0 359 028, the light guide being in the form of a glass rod which surrounds the insulation insert of the heating element in a ring on the outer circumference at a distance. The glass rod is therefore held in a channel profile attached to the insulation insert.
- annular light guide is arranged laterally outside the heating element designed as a radiant heater and having a cup-shaped housing, and e.g. connected to the heating element housing by means of a pocket-shaped holder.
- the invention has for its object to simplify the construction of the heating element and the light guide in terms of construction and assembly.
- the integration of the light guide in the heating element results in a comparatively low thermal stress on the glass material during operation of the heating element, and a very simple arrangement and assembly of the light guide is obtained without additional holding elements or the like.
- the structural and assembly-related simplification results in particular from the fact that the glass ring serving as a light guide forms the side wall of a cup-shaped glass body which receives the insulation insert and forms one piece.
- 1 denotes a support made of glass-ceramic, partially transparent material, covering the hob, below which, as a rule, a plurality of heating elements 2 are arranged at a distance from one another.
- the heating element consists of a cup-shaped, upwardly open housing 3 made of sheet metal material, in which an essentially flat insulation insert 5 carrying electrical heating coils 4 is arranged on the bottom of the bowl, as well as an integral or separate annular insulation insert 6 on the edge thereof.
- This heating element 2 is pressed in a manner not shown, against the underside of the glass-ceramic carrier 1, the inner surface of the annular insulation insert 6 determining a cooking or setting surface for pots or the like which can be heated by the electric heating coils 4.
- the outer diameter of the insulation insert 6 serving as a wall element of the insulation insert 5/6 is slight, for example a few millimeters smaller than the inside diameter of the housing 3, so that an annular gap 7 is present between the insulation insert 6 and the housing 3, in which a light guide designed as a glass ring is present 8 arranged, for example inserted or pressed or embedded.
- the light guide 8, which is preferably in the form of a closed glass ring, has a vertical extension that essentially corresponds to the height of the housing and is provided with at least one opening 9, into which a light source 10 of a lighting device (not shown) projects.
- the light source can be designed as an incandescent or glow lamp and is connected via a connection element 11 and electrical lines to a control device (not shown), for example to a device for displaying residual heat, the lighting device has a temperature-dependent switch which switches on the light source 10 from a safety temperature of, for example, 50 ° C. and thus signals that the support 1 should not be touched.
- the light rays emanating from the light source 10 are guided in the light guide 8, as a result of which the entire light guide in the direction of the glass-ceramic carrier 1 exerts a lighting effect, by means of which the above-mentioned footprint is simultaneously optically identified.
- a so-called residual heat indicator it can be provided that the lighting device is switched on at the same time as the heating element is switched on.
- the housing 12 of the heating element 2 ' is designed as a one-piece glass body and has a cup-like shape, which is suitable for receiving the insulating insert or inserts 5, 6.
- the cylindrical side wall 13 represents a light guide, the lighting technology is in turn connected via the opening 9 to the lighting device described above.
- the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3 differs from FIG. 2 only in the arrangement of the light source 10.
- the glass body 12 is provided in the upwardly open container 13 on the underside of the bottom surface, the open side of which rests on the bottom surface and has a lamp holder 18 for the light source 10.
- the inside or part of the container can be provided with a light-reflecting surface.
- This central arrangement of the light source 10, preferably central with respect to the glass body 12, results in a very intensive and uniform illumination of the light guide and a good optical effect.
- the glass ring forming the light guide in the form of the separate ring part in FIG. 1 or the side wall 13 in FIG. 2 on the lateral ring surfaces 14, 15 and / or on the lower ring surface 16 (FIG. 1) has a reflective coating, e.g. is mirrored at this point, so that the light flowing through the light guide is very strongly reflected upwards and on the other hand the lateral thermal insulation of the heating element is reinforced.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a hob according to the preamble of
Such a hob is known from EP-A-0 359 028, the light guide being in the form of a glass rod which surrounds the insulation insert of the heating element in a ring on the outer circumference at a distance. The glass rod is therefore held in a channel profile attached to the insulation insert.
In another known cooktop (DE-OS 40 02 322), an annular light guide is arranged laterally outside the heating element designed as a radiant heater and having a cup-shaped housing, and e.g. connected to the heating element housing by means of a pocket-shaped holder.
The invention has for its object to simplify the construction of the heating element and the light guide in terms of construction and assembly.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the measures listed in the characterizing part of
The integration of the light guide in the heating element results in a comparatively low thermal stress on the glass material during operation of the heating element, and a very simple arrangement and assembly of the light guide is obtained without additional holding elements or the like. The structural and assembly-related simplification results in particular from the fact that the glass ring serving as a light guide forms the side wall of a cup-shaped glass body which receives the insulation insert and forms one piece.
The invention is explained below with reference to exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, 1 denotes a support made of glass-ceramic, partially transparent material, covering the hob, below which, as a rule, a plurality of heating elements 2 are arranged at a distance from one another. The heating element consists of a cup-shaped, upwardly
In both exemplary embodiments it can be provided that the glass ring forming the light guide in the form of the separate ring part in FIG. 1 or the
