Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for drying wooden boards, veneers or the like and to an apparatus for carrying out the method.
For drying thin wooden boards, wood veneers or the like, essentially only two processes have been used so far, namely drying in a continuous process and stationary drying in a drying chamber, for. B .. In continuous drying, a board layer is conveyed on a belt conveyor or roller conveyor through an oven. This drying is often not sufficiently effective when it comes to wood with different degrees of drying and wood with a larger material thickness and smaller dimensions. In particular, the inevitable warping of thicker boards or veneers in this process leads to uselessness in various applications.
In the case of stationary drying, boards are stacked in several individual layers one above the other, with spacer slats in between, and dried by exchanging air between the spacer slats of the layers. In the automated state, such drying means a very high technical outlay with a relatively low output. The spacer slats must be arranged at relatively narrow, more or less precisely defined distances from one another in order to ensure drying that is as uniform as possible and to avoid warping of the stacked board layers. Therefore, building such a stack is a time consuming process. A major disadvantage of this procedure is that the relatively large support areas of the mostly rectangular spacer slats make it difficult for moisture to escape from the wooden layers, so that no favorable drying conditions can be guaranteed.
The object of the invention is to provide a method and a device for drying wooden boards or the like, so that optimal drying conditions are ensured and the technical outlay is reduced.
With regard to the method, this object is achieved by the characterized features of patent claim 1. The linear support of the wooden boards ensures a minimal contact area and at the same time an improved flow around the wooden boards to be dried. The line support creates a specifically high pressure on the wood at relatively short intervals, which leads to a clamping and thus shape stabilization of the wooden boards during drying and a reduction in shrinkage, which also leads to a reduction in tension of the wood in the variable climatic conditions after Drying contributes. Due to the shape stabilization during drying, the wooden boards are so flat that they can also be stored for further processing.
The line pressure on the wooden boards must be sufficient to restrict the freedom of movement of the wooden boards, but must not be so great that permanent impressions are created in the wooden surface. The line print is applied according to
The drying can be carried out in a continuous process according to claim 4 or stationary in a stack according to
With regard to the device, the object of the invention is achieved by the features of claims 6 and 9, respectively. When using conveyor belts, the wooden boards are clamped in a particularly uniform manner, and it is possible to fully automate when the wooden boards are placed and removed from the conveyor gap. In the case of stacking with stationary drying, the design of the spacers as a stacking plate has proven to be particularly favorable. The design of the spacers as a plate, which provides support sections on both sides of the plate, not only ensures uniform support spacing, but also a simplified stacking option. It is particularly advantageous if such a stacking plate is designed according to one of
In practice, a stacking plate made of stainless steel or aluminum with a thickness of 1 mm, in which the adjacent ribs are 12 mm apart and 6 mm high, has proven particularly useful.
- 1 shows an arbitrary section of a drying stack for stationary drying.
- 2 and 3 show in partial section conveyor belts for continuous drying.
In the case of a stack according to FIG. 1, a stacking plate 1 is located between two
In the case of the figure, the stacking plate 1 consists of a zig / zag folded sheet made of stainless steel or aluminum, the upper and lower vertices of which serve as
A drying stack consisting of up to 200 layers of wooden boards is subjected to a stationary drying process in a drying chamber, which means a significantly lower technical effort compared to continuous drying and thus also reduces costs.
For reasons of production technology, the stacking plate can also be formed with rounded shaft apices. In addition to sheet steel, ceramic, plastic or light metal alloys can also be used as the material for the stacking plate. The stacking plate can also be provided with various coatings which are resistant to the substances separated from the wood during the drying process. Basically, the material, shape, thickness and, if necessary, coating of the stacking panel should be selected depending on the nature of the wooden boards or veneers to be dried and the stack height.
The principle of the invention of clamping the wooden boards or wood veneers under linear support sections running transversely to the longitudinal grain is also suitable for the continuous process. In such a case, two
The
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3,
A method and an apparatus for drying wooden boards are disclosed, in which the latter are clamped on both sides under line pressure transversely to the fiber direction in a drying apparatus.
