Description

The invention relates to a stencil holder for circular stencils, wherein rotatably mounted receiving rings are provided for receiving and tensioning the round stencils provided with end rings, which, by means of stop parts, engage webs which protrude radially from the end rings and protrude radially from the end rings in the manner of a bayonet catch.

If in this way receiving rings and end rings cooperate in areas distributed over the entire circumference, there is a need to push the end rings axially into the receiving rings during installation and to bring them into engagement by twisting before tensioning the template. This work requires some skill, since the template must be centered exactly on the receiving ring so that it can be pushed over the end ring. In the event of incorrect operation, the round template can be easily crushed and damaged.

The connection of the template to the receiving devices provided on the machine is easier if the receiving rings only extend approximately over half the circumference of the end rings, so that the template can simply be inserted from above into the half-shell-shaped receiving device before it is tensioned. However, such recording devices have the disadvantage that the tension of the template is not uniform over the entire circumference.

The object of the invention is to simplify the insertion of the template in a device of the type outlined at the outset in a manner which roughly corresponds to the situation with the receiving rings open on one side.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that at least one protrusion or an additional edge area is provided on the receiving ring as a support and as an installation aid for inserting the template or the end ring into the receiving ring on its side facing the template (inside of the printing press or in the interior of the receiving ring) on which the template or the template end ring can be temporarily placed during the insertion process.

With the tray according to the invention, the operator has the hand previously required for centering, or the template can be inserted mechanically into the receiving ring at all, since the tray ensures the permanent centering of the circular template.

In order to facilitate the setting of the correct angular position between the end ring and the receiving ring and to maintain the position once found, it is preferably provided that the shelf comprises at least one axially extending guide rail.

In the simplest case, the shelf can only consist of two axially extending guide rails, in particular if the two guide rails correspond to the mutually facing edges of adjacent webs of the end ring. If, on the other hand, the shelf is designed as a cylindrically curved strip, this makes it easier to find the correct angular position afterwards. This can in turn be defined by the abutment of two guide rails on the mutually facing edges of adjacent webs or by the fact that a guide rail corresponds to a groove in the web of the end ring.

In order to prevent the template from accidentally falling off the tray, it is preferably provided with at least one axial stop for the webs of the end ring.

Further details of the invention are subsequently explained with reference to the drawing. In this relates
  • 1 to 5 show a first exemplary embodiment of the invention in various stages of the approach or connection of the end ring and the receiving ring, FIG. 6 is a representation corresponding to FIG. 1 of a second exemplary embodiment.

Fig. 1 shows the essential parts of a receiving ring 10 and a cooperating end ring 11 of a circular template 8, which have webs 7. These webs 7 are intended to engage behind stop parts 9 of the receiving ring 10 distributed over the circumference in the manner of a bayonet catch.

In order to establish the connection between the end ring 11 and the receiving ring 10, the end ring 11 is placed from above on a tray which, in the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1-5, consists of a cylindrical strip 1a, 1b, 1c extending along the circumference of the receiving ring 10 .

The angular assignment of the receiving ring 10 and end ring 11 is given when the groove 3 rests in a web 7 of the end ring 11 on the guide rail 2. Along this guide rail 2, the end ring 11 placed on it can be pushed into the interior of the end ring 10 from the position shown in FIG. 2, the guide rail 2 first together with the groove 3 and then another guide rail 4 together with the edge of a web 7 prevents tangential rotation. The rotation of the circular template 8 indicated in FIG. 3 only takes place when the webs 7 are located at the end of the stop parts 9. The rotation is ended when the groove 3 of the web 7, as shown in FIG. 4, is located in an axial extension of a driving lug 5 on a stop part 9. When the template 8 is then tensioned by pulling the end rings 11 apart, the driver nose 5 engages in the groove 3 on the web 7 and the system is ready for operation.

The template 8 is removed by performing the method steps described with reference to FIGS. 1-5 in the reverse order. So that when the receiving rings 10 are finally pulled apart, the end rings 11 do not fall off the support, that is to say from the strip 1a, 1b, 1c, the strip 1a, 1b, 1c is delimited on the template side by a stop 6.

The tray provided according to the invention, on which the template 8 with its end rings 11 is placed before being inserted into the receiving rings 10, does not have to be designed as a cylindrical strip 1a, 1b, 1c, as shown in FIGS. 1-5. For example, it would be possible, as shown in FIG. 6, to use the guide rails 2, 2 'themselves as a shelf. In this case, the end ring 11 is always guided during the axial insertion by the interaction of the guide rails 2, 2 'with the mutually facing edges of the webs 7, 7'. The groove 3 only has the task of fixing the end position in cooperation with the driving nose 5. The stops 6,6 ', which prevent the template from falling out, particularly during removal prevent, are formed here as short pins which extend in the circumferential direction of the end ring 11. With the end ring 11 fully pulled out, they engage behind its webs 7, 7 '. Otherwise, the process of installation and removal proceeds as described with reference to FIGS. 1-5.
