Description

The invention relates to a device for inserting cored wires into openings of a wire link belt, which consists of alternately wound in opposite directions and partially overlapping one another arranged helixes, in each of which a connecting wire is inserted into pairs of joint openings, the cored wires parallel to the plug wires in the wire link belt run.

Such wire link belts have proven themselves in and of themselves. Often the requirement arises that the relatively large openings of the wire link belt are partially closed in order to reduce the air throughput, in particular on high-speed machines. This is done in a known manner with the help of the aforementioned cored wires, which correspondingly reduce the free cross section of the wire link belt.

A machine for producing such wire link belts, the basic features of which are also used in the device according to the invention, is described, for example, in the European patent application 216 215 of the applicant.

The prior art is also referred to DE-PS 32 23 149, which describes a similar machine, which is supplemented by an additional device for inserting the aforementioned cored wires. This device also has a hold-down device for inserting the cored wires. There is but not listed how this device for inserting the cored wire works; the cored wires may even be inserted into the actual wire link band by hand.

A device with which cored wires can be inserted mechanically is described in EP-PS 50 374. There, however, the cored wires are inserted into a single wire coil and only then are the wire coils connected to one another with the aid of the plug wires to form the wire link belt. The cored wires to the coil are conveyed there by a pair of driven rollers.

Regarding the state of the art, reference is also made to DE-PS 32 21 255, which describes such a wire link strip with cored wires, but without specifying how the cored wires are inserted into the wire link strip.

Einen ähnlichen Stand der Technik, dem auch keine Hinweise auf eine maschinelle Einführung der Fülldrähte in das Drahtgliederband entnommen werden können, beschreibt im übrigen die DE-PS 24 19 751.DE-PS 24 19 751 also describes a similar prior art, from which no references to a machine insertion of the cored wires into the wire link belt can be found.

Auch in der DE-PS 28 47 327 ist auf die Vorteile hingewiesen worden, die durch die Fülldrähte in derartigen Drahtgliederbändern erzielt werden, wobei auch dort keine Vorrichtung beschrieben wird, die ein maschinelles Einführen der Fülldrähte in das Drahtgliederband ermöglicht.DE-PS 28 47 327 has also pointed to the advantages which are achieved by the cored wires in such wire link belts, wherein there is also no device described which enables the mechanical insertion of the cored wires into the wire link belt.

The invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a device with which mechanical introduction of the cored wires into the wire link belt is possible.

The device according to the invention should be reliable and enable a high production speed without the need for rejects.

To achieve this object, the invention is characterized in that a guide plate is provided with a plurality of channels parallel to one another for guiding the cored wires, the channels being freely accessible from above or below via a section of the guide plate and a conveyor roller driven to rotate in the region of the section acts on the cored wires located in the channels, transports them to the openings of the wire link belt and pushes them into them, furthermore on the side of the guide plate facing the wire link belt between the mouths of the channels next to one another a plurality of freely accessible slots for inserting and fixing the projecting ends of the plug wires are provided over the wire link belt.

The slots are arranged in such a way that the wire link band is aligned with the mouths of the channels via the fastening of the plug-in wires in the slots in such a way that the openings of the wire link band used for receiving the cored wires lie opposite the mouths of the channels.

The cored wires are thus inserted into the rear channels of the guide plate, usually by hand. Suitable storage containers for the winding coils of the guide wires are provided for this. The guide wires have a suitable size and a corresponding cross-section, depending on the desired degree of filling of the wire link belt. If you now turn the conveyor roller, so This transports the cored wires in the channels and into the corresponding openings in the actual wire link belt. This is fixed in the correct position with the aid of the slots relative to the mouths of the guide plate in such a way that the cored wires are easily inserted into the correct openings of the wire link band assigned to them. It should be mentioned that on the relevant side edge of the wire link band, the plug wires protrude a certain distance over the edge of the wire link band and these projecting ends of the plug wires are used for fixing the wire link band relative to the guide plate or to the device according to the invention.

One could also use the device for feeding the plug wires, which is already present on the machine, in order to also insert the cored wires into the openings of the wire link band, after the plug wires have been inserted, for which purpose one would only have to move this device by the appropriate distance so that the Cored wires get into the correct openings. The invention deliberately does not go this way, because on the one hand this would reduce the production speed, because one would first have to insert the plug wires and then the cored wires into their openings with the same device. On the other hand, this procedure would have the important disadvantage that one could only use the plug wires for the cored wires, so that only a certain degree of filling would result. One would not be free to choose the diameter or cross-section of the cored wire and this disadvantage is also avoided with the device according to the invention, which is deliberately one of the described device provides independent, separate device.

In order to facilitate the insertion and fixing of the free ends of the plug wires in the slots, it is preferred if an adjustable and detachable hold-down device is provided, which inserts the plug wire ends inserted into the slots into the slots and onto a support plate of the guide plate located in front of the openings presses.

The hold-down device can be designed as a rubber strip, the profile of the hold-down device then automatically adapting to the profile of the guide plate together with its support plate. Alternatively, the hold-down device can also be designed as a correspondingly profiled pressure plate, the underside of which is optionally lined with rubber material for gentle and effective pressing of the plug-wire ends into their slots.

In front of the guide plate, a guide roller, likewise driven for rotation, with end flanges projecting beyond its profile, on whose upper side the filler wires rest, can be provided for an orderly supply of the cored wires to the guide plate. The drive of this guide roller and the conveyor roller is preferably common, so that a suitable gear is provided between the two rollers.

The machine described for the production of the wire link belt is preferably supplemented by the device according to the invention such that the device is behind the device in the direction of transport of the wire link belt for the supply of the plug wires, preferably on the same side. However, the device can also be arranged on the other side, which is therefore opposite the side of the device.

Außerdem ist ein Vorratsbehälter 7 für die Steckdrähte symbolisch angedeutet.FIG. 1 shows a work table 1 on which a piece of a wire link belt 2, which is shown broken off on the left, rests. This is basically produced in such a way that partially inserted helices in the direction of arrow 3 are fed to a device 4, which introduces plug wires 5 in the direction of arrow 6 into the corresponding openings of the helixes, each of which overlaps in pairs and partially. It has already been pointed out that these wire link belts must be provided with cored wires in many applications. The device according to the invention, which is indicated as a whole in FIG. 1 at item 8, serves this purpose. With the help of this device, cored wires 9 are transported from a storage container 10 in the direction of arrow 11 to the wire link belt 2. They are then inserted into the openings of the wire link belt on the strins side.

9.The machine now works so that after inserting a set of the plug wires 5 in the finished wire link belt in the direction of arrow 12, ie at right angles to arrows 3, 6, 11, is transported in batches, so that a set of cored wires 9 can also be inserted into the wire link belt. The devices 4 and 8 therefore process the same number of wires 5 and 9, respectively.

The construction of the device 8 according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the further figures. Here, Fig. 2 shows that a guide plate 13 is provided with channels passing through it in the longitudinal direction for receiving and guiding the cored wires 9. 6 shows the mouths 14 of the channels facing the wire link belt 2.

The guide plate 13 consists of a lower, smooth plate part and an upper plate part from which a window-like opening 15 is cut out. In addition, the channels 14 are created in the underside of the upper plate 16. But they can also be provided in the top of the lower plate 17.

Directly above the window-like opening 15 is a rotation-driven conveyor roller 18, preferably made of rubber material or with a rubber coating, so that the roller 18 can transport the cored wires freely accessible through the window 15 in the direction of the arrow 11. 3, which shows the cored wire 9 and the roller 18 spaced apart from one another for clarification.

In front of the guide plate 13, a guide roller 19 with protruding flanges 20 can be provided, which also is driven in the direction of arrow 11.

Slightly accessible slots 21 are provided in the end of the guide plate 13 facing the wire link belt 2, in which the free ends of the plug-in wires 5 can be inserted and clamped, so to speak, on a gap between the mouths 14. A hold-down device 22 is used for this purpose, which can have a rubber coating 23 on its base according to FIG. 4 and which in this embodiment is shaped according to the profile of the guide plate 13. In the embodiment according to FIG. 5, the hold-down consists of a rubber strip. It can be started or lifted in the direction of the double arrow 24.

Die Führungsplatte 13 endet in einer Auflageplatte 25 für die Steckdrähte 5.The guide plate 13 ends in a support plate 25 for the plug wires 5.

It can be seen that the arrangement of the slots 21 relative to the mouths 14 positions the fabric tape 2 in the correct position with respect to the device 8 according to the invention and its guide plate 13, so that the cored wires 9 can be inserted into the correct openings associated with them without further manipulation of the wire link belt 2 are inserted.

The cored wires can be inserted simultaneously with the plug wires, so that there is a much higher production speed.
