Description

The present invention relates, originally, to a contact-carrying blade of a switch with two output terminals and an input terminal, or common, and comprising a pusher for pushing one of the ends of the blade and thus move its other contact-carrying end from one of the output terminals to the other, to finally switch the common of one of the output terminals to the other. For this, the blade provides the electrical connection between the common and one or the other of the output terminals, on the one hand, and the blade is pivotally mounted on a joint integral with the common, on the other hand.

More specifically, and with reference to FIG. 1, the contact-carrying blade 1 is mounted on the articulation 2 by two central tabs 3, 4 engaged by their free ends 5, 6 in two opposite notches 7, 8 of the articulation 2, the tongues 3, 4 being connected, respectively, to the end 9 of cooperation with the pusher and to the contact carrier end 10 which are joined together by a pair of lateral arms 11 between which extend with play the tabs 3, 4.

To ensure a good electrical connection between them, the arming force of the blade on the joint, generated by the elastic buckling of one of the two tongues slightly spaced from the other, not being sufficient for this, the common and the central tabs of the blade are coated with a layer of a noble metal, such as for example gold or silver.

The contact-carrying blade of the switch is produced by press cutting, or shearing, from a ribbon, then by dipping the coating metal in an electrolytic bath.

Naturally, the blades are produced in large quantities.

According to the above production method, the central tongues are coated with a layer of noble metal on their five free faces, that is to say their four longitudinal faces parallel in pairs and their edge, or transverse face d 'end. For the sole need of the electrical connection, it is too much, but a selective metallization would be even more expensive.

In addition, the soaking of the cut pieces and the bulk storage of the blades interrupts the switch production flow.

Finally, as the blades have a very small thickness, of the order of a hundred microns, and that, in the soaking tank, they can consequently deform and stick to each other, to prevent it from n 'results in an irregular metallization and therefore insufficient in some places, it is still preferred that the deposit of noble metal, in the electrolytic bath, is everywhere superabundant, which strikes the realization of the blade, and therefore of the switch, of fresh additional.

The present invention aims to overcome all these drawbacks and is based on a double finding in itself already inventive.

The noble metals of the coatings of electrical connection between the common and the central tongues have a good ductility and the anchoring of the free ends of the tongues in the notches of the joint, during the use of the switch and because of this ductility and of the pivoting of the tongue ends, is accentuated but so as not to exceed a ultimately relatively small depth on either side of the transverse edge of pivoting of the tongue ends.

To fix the ideas, and for a thickness of blade tongue, that is to say a width of transverse face of tongue end, of approximately 100 μm, the depth of anchoring of the tongues in the joint, when the switch is new, is around 1 µm and, after use, it does not exceed 5 µm on average.

La présente invention concerne donc un procédé selon la revendication 1.The present invention therefore relates to a method according to claim 1.

Thanks to the process of the invention, the edge of the pivoting end of a tongue is coated with the electrical bonding metal, which is ductile in nature, by stretching and transfer, to a perfectly perfect depth. sufficient, of a part of the surface covering of the tape adjacent to the cut edge of the tongue. From the cut blade, it can be mounted on the joint before the other steps in the switch manufacturing process are continued.

In the preferred implementation of the method of the invention, to produce the tongues with their free ends, the tape is sheared between a fixed die, at an edge and a cutting face, on which rests part of the tape intended to become one of the two tongues, and a movable punch which is moved parallel to the cutting face of the die.

La présente invention concerne aussi la lame porte-contacts d'interrupteur selon la revendication 3.The present invention also relates to the switch contact holder blade according to claim 3.

  • la figure 1 représente une vue latérale de la lame porte-contacts de l'invention, montée sur son articulation ;
  • la figure 2 représente une vue en plan de la lame de la figure 1 ;
The invention will be better understood with the aid of the following description of the process for producing the contact-carrying blade of the invention and of the blade itself, with reference to the appended drawing in which:
  • Figure 1 shows a side view of the contact carrier blade of the invention, mounted on its articulation;
  • Figure 2 shows a plan view of the blade of Figure 1;
  • FIG. 3 represents, on a larger scale, a side view of the free end of one of the tongues of the blade of FIG. 1 in the associated receiving notch of the joint and
  • FIGS. 4A and 4B illustrate the production by cutting of the free ends of the tongues of the blade of FIG. 1.

The characteristics of the blade of the invention introduced above, in the preamble to this description, will not be repeated here. However, it should be noted that the clearance 12, between the central tongues 3, 4 and the lateral arms 11 of the blade, is clearly visible in FIG. 2. The end 10 of the blade carries, on its parallel faces outside the planes of which the tabs can protrude, contact pads 13, 14, here electrically welded, so that the blade, by means of the joint 2, electrically connects the input terminal 15, of which the joint 2 is integral, to one or the other of the two output terminals 16, 17 of the switch each carrying a contact pad 18, 19 opposite respectively the pads 13, 14 of the blade.

The blade was cut, and we will come back to this later, in a coated ribbon, on its two faces, corresponding to those mentioned above and carrying the studs 13, 14, of two layers of ductile conductive metal 20, 21. L hinge 2 is also coated with a layer of ductile conductive metal 22. The layers of metal 20-22 provide good electrical connection between the hinge 2 and the tongues 3, 4. The edges 23, 24, that is ie the transverse end faces of the tongues 3, 4 also have a metal coating 27, 25 but which only extends part on these edges, from their transverse edge 28, 26 of pivoting in the notches 7, 8.

As an electrical bonding metal, silver which is an excellent conductor can be used for large currents and gold which has good corrosion resistance for low currents.

As an example, and to consider an effective implementation, the blade was cut from a CuBe 2 CuBe 2 ribbon 14 mm wide and 100 μm thick, coated on both sides with a layer of silver. 0.3 µm thick Ag. The joint, made of CuZn brass, was coated with a silver layer 3 to 5 µm thick, here particularly thin. The silver layer, on the edge of the tongues, extends substantially over a thickness of 20 μm, more than sufficient to ensure good contact Ag on Ag during pivoting of the end 6 of the tongue 4, of approximately 2 degrees.

The cutting of a contact-carrying blade of the invention is carried out by means of a fixed matrix, composed of several elements corresponding to the different parts of the blade, and of a series of associated movable punches. This cutting is carried out in a perfectly conventional manner; as regards the free ends of the tongues, assembled before cutting, a metal transfer is carried out along the pivoting edge of the tongues.

Enfin, la face frontale 35 du poinçon est, de façon classique, dégagée du plan perpendiculaire à la direction de déplacement 36 passant par l'arête de coupe 33.For the cutting of the free ends 5, 6 of the tongues 3, 4, and with reference first to FIG. 4A, a die element 29 is used, with support face 37, cutting face 31, perpendicular to the face 37, and cutting edge 30, and a punch 32. The punch 32 is mounted to be moved parallel to the cutting face 31 of the die 29, in the direction of the arrow 36. The punch 32 has a cutting edge 33 and a cutting face 34 parallel to the direction of movement 36. Finally, the face front 35 of the punch is, conventionally, released from the plane perpendicular to the direction of movement 36 passing through the cutting edge 33.

With reference to FIG. 4B, by moving the punch 32 in the direction of the arrow 36, and after having placed on the face 37 of the matrix 29 the part of ribbon which will correspond to the tongue 3, the ribbon is cut to form the two free ends 5, 6, the free end 5, with a slice 23, and the free end 6, with a slice 24 formed by the cutting edge 30 and the face 31 of the die 29. The first transverse edge 28 of the free end 5 of the tongue 3, intended to become the pivoting edge, is rounded convexly by the punch with drawing and transfer of a part 27 of the metal of the layer 20 on the wafer 23. As for the second edge, created in the vicinity of the cutting edge 30 of the die, it is also rounded but concave, with point drawing of part of the metal of layer 21. It is the same for the end free 6 of the other tab 4. The first transverse edge 26, intended to become the he pivoting edge is convexly rounded with stretching and transfer of part 25 of the metal of layer 21 on the edge 24. As for the second edge, close to the second edge of the first tongue 3, it is also rounded by concave with point drawing of part of the metal of layer 20.

On remarquera que, comme environ 10 % seulement du courant passe à travers la languette 3 et les bras 11, au plan électrique, le bord 28 de la languette 3 est beaucoup moins important que le bord 26 de la languette 4.Note that since only about 10% of the current flows through the tongue 3 and the arms 11, electrically, the edge 28 of the tongue 3 is much less important than the edge 26 of the tongue 4.

It will also be emphasized that, as the pivoting of the tongue 4 is low, of the order of 2 degrees, its edge 26 is all the more important as the contact of the tongue 4 with the metal layer 22 of the joint 2 , during the operation of the switch, is carried out exclusively by this edge 26.

Process as claimed in claim 1 wherein, in order to produce the tongues (3, 4) with their free ends (5, 6), the band is sheared off between a fixed block (29), with an edge (30) and a cutting face (31), upon which (29, 37) there rests a part of the band which will become one (3) of the two tongues, and a movable punch (32).
  3. Contact carrying blade of a switch, which may be produced by the process of claim 1, comprising two tongues (3, 4) with free ends (5, 6), arranged so as to be pivotally mounted on an articulation (2) of the switch and having a coating of ductile metal (20, 21), providing an electrical connection with the articulation (2), on the surface and at the slice (23, 24) of their free end (5, 6) characterized by the fact that the slice (23, 24) of the tongues (3, 4) is partially coated by stretching and transfering of a part of the surface coating of the band adjacent to the cut edge of the tongue.
  4. Contact carrying blade as claimed in claim 3, wherein the pivoting edges (28, 26) of the free ends (5, 6) of the tongues (3, 4) are rounded.
