Claims (8)

1. Verfahren zum Verschließen einer Verpackung (4), die aus einem oberen Teil (3) mit einem nach unten hängenden Rand (16) und einem unteren Teil (2) mit einem vorstehenden Flansch (15) besteht, welches Verfahren die folgenden Schritte aufweist: es wird der obere Teil (3) auf den unteren Teil (2) gefügt; es wird die so zusammengestellte Verpackung in einer Schließvorrichtung (1) eingebracht, die eine Basis (5) mit Haltemitteln (6) und einen Schließteil (7) aufweist, wobei dieser Schließteil (7) eine Druckplatte (8) und mehrere bewegliche Ringsegmente (9) aufweist; es werden Schließteil (7) und Basis (5) der Verschließvorrichtung gegeneinander bewegt, wodurch die Ringsegmente (9) veranlaßt werden, sich aufeinander hin zu bewegen und den nach unten hängenden Rand (16) des oberen Teils (3) um den vorstehenden Flansch (15) des unteren Teils (2) herum zu falten;
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Ringsegmente (9) erst dann aufeinander zu bewegt werden, nachdem die Druckplatte (8) und die Basis (5) ihre voll geschlossene Stellung einnehmen, in der sie einander gegenüberliegen und der obere Teil der Verpackung (4) gerade in Berührung mit der Druckplatte (8) gelangt.
2. Vorrichtung (1) zur Durchführung des Verfahrens nach Anspruch 1 mit einer Basis (5), mit einem Träger (6) zur Halterung der Verpakkung (4) in einer Schließstellung und mit einem Schließteil (7), welches gegenüber der Basis beweglich ist, wobei der Schließteil (7) eine Druckplatte (8) und einen Ring (14) aufweist, der aus mehreren Ringsegmenten (9) besteht, die in Radialrichtung im wesentlichen parallel zur Druckplatte (8) zwischen einer Freigabestellung, in der die Abmessungen in Umfangsrichtung des Ringes (14) größer sind als jene der Verpackung (4) und einer ersten Schließstellung beweglich sind, in der die Abmessungen in Umfangsrichtung des Rings (14) kleiner sind als jene der Verpackung (4), wobei die Ringsegmente außerdem in einer Richtung im wesentlichen quer zur Druckplatte (8) zwischen der ersten Schließstellung und einer zweiten Schließstellung beweglich sind, in der die Verpackung (4) dicht zwischen den Ringsegmenten (9) und der Druckplatte (8) eingeklemmt wird,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Ringsegmente (9) auf dem Schließteil (7) derart angeordnet sind, daß sie in den genannten Richtungen beweglich sind, wenn die Druckplatte (8) und die Basis (5) in ihrer voll geschlossenen Stellung befindlich sind, in der die Teile aneinanderstoßen und der obere Teil der Verpackung (4) gerade in Berührung mit der Druckplatte (8) gelangt.

Vorrichtung (1) zum Verschließen nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß jedes Ringsegment (9) gleitbar in der Druckplatte (8) gelagert ist, daß ein Abstandshalter (23) zwischen jedem Segment (9) und der Druckplatte (8) angeordnet ist und daß die Druckplatte mehrere Aufnahmeräume (24) für die Abstandshalter (23) aufweist, die derart angeordnet sind, daß in der ersten Schließstellung jeder Abstandshalter (23) auf einen Aufnahmeraum (24) ausgerichtet ist und jeder Abstandshalter während der Bewegung des zugeordneten Ringsegmentes (9) in die zweite Schließstellung von den Aufnahmeräumen (24) aufgenommen wird.
4. Vorrichtung (1) zum Verschließen nach Anspruch 2 oder 3,
gekennzeichnet durch Steuermittel (18), die mit den Ringsegmenten (9) verbunden und gegenüber der Druckplatte (8) beweglich sind.

Vorrichtung (1) nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Steuermittel (18) einen Hebel (10) aufweisen, der schwenkbar an der Druckplatte (8) angelenkt ist, daß ein Überbrückungsteil (19) schwenkbar am Hebel (10) angelenkt und im wesentlichen quer zur Hauptebene der Druckplatte (8) beweglich ist und daß Schwenkarme (20) den Überbrükkungsteil (19) mit den Ringsegmenten (9) verbinden.
6. Vorrichtung zum Verschließen nach einem der Ansprüche 2 bis 5,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Druckplatte (8) profiliert ist und eine Rippe (27) und eine benachbarte Ausnehmung besitzt, deren Umfangsabmessungen jenen der Verpackung (4) entsprechen.

Vorrichtung (1) nach einem der Ansprüche 2 bis 6, gekennzeichnet durch eine Ausnehmung (25) in der Basis (5) zur Aufnahme der Verpakkung (4) und weiter gekennzeichnet durch Anschläge (13), die aus der Druckplatte (8) vorstehen, wobei die Tiefe der Ausnehmung (25) und die Höhe der Anschläge (13) derart aufeinander angepaßt sind, daß in der Schließstellung der Druckplatte (8) der Abstand zwischen der unteren Oberfläche der Ausnehmung (25) und der Druckplatte (8) der Höhe der Verpakkung (4) entspricht.
8. Vorrichtung (1) nach Anspruch 7,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß wenigstens ein Füllstück in die Ausnehmung (25) einsetzbar ist.
