Description

The invention relates to a towel dryer with a flow of heating medium through a curved pipe string made of straight pipes and curved pipe connections, of which the straight pipes within one of two groups horizontally at a distance from each other, each group in one of two parallel vertical planes and two pipes each two groups are arranged at the same height, and of which the curved pipe connections are connected to adjacent pipes.

Towel dryers and holders of the aforementioned type are mainly used in the sanitary area. With them, towels, bath towels and similar laundry and clothing items are hung over the pipes, held and dried. They also heat - within limits - the space in which they are arranged.

Towel dryers are known, the pipe string of which is bent in a meandering shape. The curved pipe connections merge into the end faces of the pipe above and below the same group of the same group. In a known towel dryer (see. DE 88 11 488 U1) connects to the top tube a group on one end face a pipe connection coming from below and on the other end face a downward pipe connection, which is also bent into the plane of the pipes of the second group. In another known towel dryer (see. DE 89 03 146 U1) is on the top tube of the one group on the end face a coming from below, on the other hand connected to the tube of the same group arranged below, and on the other end face a horizontally extending, until pipe connection connected essentially into the level of the second group. The known towel dryers are intended for connection to a hot water heating system. The pump in the hot water heating system also causes the water to circulate in the towel dryer. If the towel dryer is to be operated separately from the hot water heating system as a single body, which is supplied with energy by an electrically powered heating cartridge, the hot water circulation may not be guaranteed.

Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen. The invention seeks to remedy this. The invention has for its object to provide a towel dryer of the type mentioned not only so that the hot water circulation is optimized, so the operation both connected to a hot water heating system and with an electric heating cartridge and combined is possible, but also so that it is elegantly constructed from the smallest possible number of individual parts. According to the invention, this object is achieved in that with each of the tubes of a group on its one end face a horizontally extending and on the other hand with that on the same Height arranged pipe of the other group connected pipe connection is connected to the uppermost pipe of one group on the other end face is connected to an elbow that is angled horizontally into the plane of the other group and in the plane of the other group and down to an in essentially vertically extending connecting pipe can be connected, and that with each further pipe of the one group on its other end face an oblique pipe connection is connected and on the other hand connected to the pipe of the other group arranged above it.

In the invention, the entire pipe string is designed such that it can be produced as a single part with one exception: the elbow connected to the uppermost pipe of one group on the other end face must be welded on. In addition, it is advisable, especially if the towel dryer exceeds a certain number of tubes, to produce two or more groups and to weld them to the towel dryer. This also opens up the possibility of designing the individual groups differently, for example - with the same depth of the towel dryer - changing the radius of the oblique pipe connections and thereby the distance of the straight pipes in the vertical direction; or to let a single one of the horizontally extending pipe connections run obliquely. The design can have both handling, performance and visual reasons. Orbital welding is preferred as the welded joint. The connecting tube to the top tube forms the ideal receptacle for an electric heating cartridge. The warm water rises in this connecting pipe and then passes through the pipes and pipe connections on the way down.

The operation of the towel dryer according to the invention is possible both in connection with a hot water heating system and with an electric heating cartridge, or in combination.

A towel dryer according to the invention consists of a bent pipe string 1. The pipe string 1 is flowed through by a heating medium. The pipe string 1 consists of straight and curved parts. The straight parts of the pipe string 1 are formed by pipes 2, 5, which are arranged parallel to one another horizontally at a vertical distance, and by a connecting pipe 8. The curved parts of the pipe string 1 are formed by pipe connections 3, 4 between adjacent pipes 2, 5 and by a pipe bend 6 between the uppermost pipe 23 and the connecting pipe 8.

The tubes 2, 5 are arranged in two groups in two mutually parallel vertical planes. The tubes are connected within adjacent groups via the tube connections 3, 4. One of the tubes 2 of one group is arranged at the same height as one of the tubes 5 of the other group. The tubes 2.5 and the tube connections 3.4 form a tube register. The pipe string 1 can be composed of more than one pipe register.

One of the pipe connections 3, 4 connects to each end face of each pipe 2, 5. With each of the pipes 2 of the one group, the pipe connection 3 is connected on its one end face 21, which runs horizontally and on the other hand is connected to the pipe 5 of the other group, which is arranged at the same height, namely with its one end face 51. With each pipe 2 of the one group, the other pipe connection 4 is connected on its other end face 22, which runs obliquely and, on the other hand, is connected to the pipe 5 of the other group arranged above it, specifically with the other end face 52.

The radius of the oblique pipe connections 4 can be changed, even within the same pipe string. The same depth of the towel dryer, that is, the same distance between the tubes 2 and 5 in the horizontal direction, provided that as the radius becomes smaller, the distance between the tubes 2, 5 in the vertical direction becomes smaller - cf. FIGS. 4 and 5 with reference to FIGS. 1 and 3 -; reverses larger as the radius increases. Also, if the distance of the pipes 2, 5 from one another is too small for hanging and drying large items of laundry, one or more, even at intervals, of the horizontally running pipe connections can take place run horizontally opposite the same obliquely compared to the pipe connection 3. Such a pipe connection 41 is shown in FIGS. 6 and 7.

In the exemplary embodiments shown, the pipe connections 3, 4 are designed as a circular ring. The pipe connections can also be square.

With the uppermost pipe 23 of one group, not one of the pipe connections 4 but the elbow 6 is connected on the other end face 22. The manifold 6 is angled into the plane of the other group with the tubes 5 and downwards in this plane. The downwardly angled part of the elbow 6 merges into the connecting pipe 8. The connecting pipe 8 lies in the plane which is determined by the vertices of the pipe connections 4. It expediently remains within an outline which is determined by the vertices of the oblique pipe connections 4 and the pipes 5 of the other group. This is the best solution in terms of both optics and assembly technology. The connecting pipe 8 runs essentially vertically. For reasons of stabilizing the towel dryer, it can be dotted on one or more of the pipe bends 4. The connecting pipe 8 leads to the supply line of a hot water heater. An electrically heated cartridge can be accommodated in it. The connecting pipe 8 can also be offset at an angle to the vertical and to the center. However, the embodiment shown is preferred.

The bottom tube 53 of the other group is free on its other end face 52. The connecting pipe 8 and / or a discharge line of the hot water heater can be connected to this end face.

For this purpose, the lowest tube 53 of the other group is welded radially to the connecting tube 8 at its free other end face 52.

With purely electrical operation of the towel dryer, only an electric heating element needs to be inserted into the connecting tube 8. When operating the towel dryer alone as part of a hot water heater, the connecting pipe 8 is connected to the inlet. The return takes place via a sleeve radially provided at a distance from the connecting pipe in the lowermost pipe 53. A bypass integrated into the lowermost pipe 53 is provided between the connecting pipe 8 and the sleeve. If the towel dryer is both connected to a hot water heater and operated by an electric heating element when the hot water heater is switched off, the inlet is connected to the socket; the electric heating element is - as described above for purely electrical operation - inserted into the connecting pipe 8. The return is then located with the help of a T-piece on the side of the connection for the electric heating element. However, it may be expedient to install the inlet on the connecting pipe 8 and not on the sleeve.

Claims (5)

  1. A towel drier with a run of bent piping (1) comprising straight pipes (2; 5) and bent pipe connections (3; 4), through which a heating medium flows, the straight pipes (2; 5) of which are disposed horizontally at a distance under one another within one of two groups, each group being disposed in one of two parallel vertical planes and the two pipes, one of each group, being disposed at the same height in each case, and of which the bent pipe connections (3; 4) are each connected with adjacent pipes, characterized in that a pipe connection (3) which extends horizontally is connected with each of the pipes (2) of one of the groups on one of the end faces (21) of the pipe and is connected on the other side with the pipe (5) of the other group which is disposed at the same height, in that an elbow (6) is connected with the uppermost pipe (23) of one of the groups on the other end face (22) of the pipe and is bent horizontally into the plane of the other group and is bent downwards in the plane of the other group and can be connected to a connecting pipe (8) which extends essentially vertically and in that a pipe connection (4) which extends at an angle is connected with each further pipe (2) of one of the groups on the other end face (22) of the pipe and is connected on the other side with the pipe (5) there disposed, of the other group.
  2. A towel drier according to claim 1, characterized in that the radius of the pipe connections (4) which extend at an angle is variable within the same towel drier with the same horizontal distance between the two groups of pipes (2; 5).
  3. A towel drier according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that at least one of the pipe connections (31) which extend horizontally is disposed at an angle immediately opposite the pipe connection (4) which extends at an angle.
  4. A towel drier according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the connecting pipe (8) is disposed in a contour which is defined by the tops of the angled pipe connections (4) and the pipes (5) of the other group.
  5. A towel drier according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the lowermost pipe (5) of the other group is open on its other end face (53) and can be connected to the connecting pipe (8) and/or to discharge piping for hot water.
