Abstract

The invention relates to a compressor unit for generating compressed air, having a compressor, which is connected to the places of consumption via a line, and an exhaust gas turbocharger, which on its drive side is connected to the exhaust gas side of a heat engine and, via a line, is connected to the compressor. In order to improve the overall efficiency of such a unit, the invention proposes that the compressor (50) be driven by the output side of the heat engine (40) and that the exhaust gas turbocharger (21) be disposed in the suction (60) and/or discharge line (72) and that the discharge line (72) form the connection between the compressor (50) and a pressure vessel (80) which, via a further line (75, 76), is connected to the places of consumption. <IMAGE>
