Definitions
- the invention relates to a refractory closure plate for a sliding closure at the spout of a metal-containing vessel, consisting of a refractory plate having a flow opening with a sliding surface, a plate attachment arranged coaxially to the flow opening on the plate side facing away from the sliding surface and a sheet metal jacket surrounding the plate and the plate attachment .
- the sheet metal casing extends to the level of the face of the plate insert facing away from the sliding surface, so that the collar of the sheet metal casing is flush with this end face.
- the adjacent sleeve is arranged for both the upper and the lower closure plate at a distance of 3 to 5 millimeters from the end face of the plate.
- a commercially available refractory compound, for example mortar is used to seal between the plate and the sleeve. In practice, it may happen that the mortar is not properly distributed over the entire end face or that the sleeve is too far away from the plate and therefore there is too little mortar and the seal around the flow opening is not properly produced. In the worst case, this can lead to a so-called breakthrough, in which the liquid steel flows out laterally between the sleeve and the plate and, depending on the situation, can lead to total damage to the sliding closure.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a fireproof closure plate of the type mentioned, in which the risk of breakthrough is greatly reduced with a simple and inexpensive measure and thus the operational reliability of a sliding closure with such closure plates is increased.
- the object is achieved in that the sheet metal casing has a collar projecting above the plate attachment, which is arranged centrally to the flow opening and whose diameter approximately corresponds to the outer diameter of the plate attachment.
- This collar according to the invention still has the surprising effect when it serves as a lesson when preparing a plate for mounting in a sliding closure, in which the mortar can be applied to the end face of the plate within this annular collar. This ensures on the one hand that this plastic mass is always applied in approximately the same amount and on the other hand it is avoided that this mass does not flow away in an uncontrolled manner when the plate is placed.
- the projecting collar is designed as an annular extension of the sheet metal casing.
- the sheet metal casing has a cylindrical centering surface which is coaxial with the flow opening as the centering of the plate in the sliding closure and the projecting collar is designed as an extension of this centering surface.
- the annular collar is angled towards the inside.
- the collar expediently protrudes between 5 and 20 mm from the corresponding end face of the plate attachment.
- the collar facing the connecting sleeve is designed according to the invention such that it surrounds the intended joint between the plate and the sleeve.
- the connecting sleeve is arranged on its end facing the closure plate in the sliding closure in such a way that its end facing the closure plate is surrounded by the collar with almost no play.
- the collar of the closure plate can also protrude into an annular groove on the end face of the connecting sleeve. It is advantageous if the collar fits into the annular groove of the connecting sleeve with almost no play.
- a sliding closure 10 known per se is partially shown, as is shown, for example, in EP-PS 0 277 146 and is therefore no longer described in detail in the present case.
- This sliding closure 10 has a metallic housing 12 which is connected to a Wall 14 of a vessel containing molten metal, for example a pan, is fastened with an inner refractory lining 13.
- the spout 16 of the vessel is defined by a refractory sleeve 18 which can be placed in this lining 13.
- a fireproof closure plate 20 is arranged in the housing 12 such that it connects to this sleeve 18 at the end at a certain distance, for example 3 to 5 millimeters.
- This closure plate 20 which is arranged as a fixed base plate, has on the opposite side a sliding surface against which a longitudinally displaceable refractory closure plate 22 is pressed.
- the closure plate 22 is in turn inserted into a metallic slide unit 23, in which a subsequent exchangeable pouring sleeve 24 is also fastened.
- the sleeves 18, 24 form, together with the closure plates 20, 22 in the open position of the slide closure, a flow opening 16 which drains the molten metal the melt flow can be completely interrupted.
- the refractory closure plates 20, 22 each have a sheet metal sheath 26, 28, preferably made of steel, and a refractory plate mortared therein.
- the sheet metal jacket 26, 28 each has a cylindrical centering surface 26 ′′, 28 ′′ centered around the refractory attachment of the plate and to the flow opening for the purpose of centering the plate in the housing 12 and respectively. in the slide unit 23.
- the cylindrical centering surface 26 '', 28 '' of the sheet metal casing which is coaxial to the flow opening, has a collar 26 ', 28' projecting on the side 20 ', 22' facing away from the sliding surface of the plate, which essentially corresponds to that between the plate 20, 22 and the subsequent sleeve 18, 24 formed joint 29, 31 surrounds.
- this gives the great advantage that, in the end, the risk of breakthrough between a plate and the sleeve can be considerably reduced.
- this collar fulfills the task as the mortar cannot emerge laterally from the joint 29, 31.
- the collar is provided in such a way that it is angled towards the inside and surrounds the sleeve in the set state with only a little play (0.5-3 mm). This ensures that the sleeve 18, 24, which usually has a different distance from the plate end face 20 ', 22' each time it is set, is guaranteed to be surrounded by the collar. With the lower sleeve 24, there is less of this risk, because the sleeve 24 is always at a defined distance from the underside 22 'of the plate. But this sleeve 24 is also surrounded by a collar 28.
- the plates are otherwise identical, which is known to simplify their manufacture.
- the refractory closure plates 30, 32 shown in FIG. 2 differ from those according to FIG. 1 only in that their respective collar 36 ', 38' formed by the sheet metal jacket 36, 38 only by approximately the thickness of the sheet metal jacket to the board end face 30 ', 32 'protrudes. In this case too, it is again ensured that a defined amount of mortar can be used with this collar 36 ', 38' and that the mortar is not pushed away in an undefined manner when the slabs are set. Centering surfaces 36 '', 38 '' of the plates 30, 32 in turn enable their centering in the housing, respectively. in the slide unit.
- a sliding closure 10 is again shown in a partial view, in which a refractory sleeve 43 is arranged on the inlet side, a sleeve 44 on the outlet side and two refractory closure plates 40, 42 which are displaceable in relation to one another and are located in between.
- the identically designed closure plates 40, 42 in turn each have a sheet metal casing 46, 48, each of which has a cylindrical centering surface 46 ′′, 48 ′′ surrounding the refractory attachment of the plate 40, 42 for centering the same, and starting therefrom an angled inwards by 90 ° Annular surface 47 ', 49' and in turn a collar 46 ', 47' projecting towards the plate end 40 ', 42', which forms a ring and projects into an annular groove 43 ', 44' of the sleeve 43, 44.
- the cross section of the annular groove 43 ', 44' is larger on all sides by approximately 1 mm than the cross section of the collar 46 ', 48'.

Description
The invention relates to a refractory closure plate for a sliding closure at the spout of a metal-containing vessel, consisting of a refractory plate having a flow opening with a sliding surface, a plate attachment arranged coaxially to the flow opening on the plate side facing away from the sliding surface and a sheet metal jacket surrounding the plate and the plate attachment .
In a known refractory closure plate according to DE-PS 38 05 074, the sheet metal casing extends to the level of the face of the plate insert facing away from the sliding surface, so that the collar of the sheet metal casing is flush with this end face. The adjacent sleeve is arranged for both the upper and the lower closure plate at a distance of 3 to 5 millimeters from the end face of the plate. A commercially available refractory compound, for example mortar, is used to seal between the plate and the sleeve.
In particular, to significantly reduce this risk of breakthrough, the present invention has for its object to provide a fireproof closure plate of the type mentioned, in which the risk of breakthrough is greatly reduced with a simple and inexpensive measure and thus the operational reliability of a sliding closure with such closure plates is increased.
According to the invention the object is achieved in that the sheet metal casing has a collar projecting above the plate attachment, which is arranged centrally to the flow opening and whose diameter approximately corresponds to the outer diameter of the plate attachment. With this configuration of a closure plate, breakthroughs can be avoided almost entirely, since this collar surrounding the joint between the plate and the sleeve brings about a decisive improvement in the seal. Even if this joint is not filled 100% with mortar and if molten steel would infiltrate it during pouring, the steel melt is decisively prevented by this collar from flowing out into the sliding closure and damaging and even destroying it.
This collar according to the invention still has the surprising effect when it serves as a lesson when preparing a plate for mounting in a sliding closure, in which the mortar can be applied to the end face of the plate within this annular collar. This ensures on the one hand that this plastic mass is always applied in approximately the same amount and on the other hand it is avoided that this mass does not flow away in an uncontrolled manner when the plate is placed.
In an advantageous embodiment of the closure plate according to the invention, the projecting collar is designed as an annular extension of the sheet metal casing.
It is expedient here if the sheet metal casing has a cylindrical centering surface which is coaxial with the flow opening as the centering of the plate in the sliding closure and the projecting collar is designed as an extension of this centering surface.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the closure plate according to the invention, the annular collar is angled towards the inside.
The collar expediently protrudes between 5 and 20 mm from the corresponding end face of the plate attachment.
In the constellation usually provided in a sliding closure, in which a fireproof connecting sleeve follows the closing plate, the collar facing the connecting sleeve is designed according to the invention such that it surrounds the intended joint between the plate and the sleeve. The desired breakthrough security is thus fully achieved.
Advantageously, the connecting sleeve is arranged on its end facing the closure plate in the sliding closure in such a way that its end facing the closure plate is surrounded by the collar with almost no play. The collar of the closure plate can also protrude into an annular groove on the end face of the connecting sleeve. It is advantageous if the collar fits into the annular groove of the connecting sleeve with almost no play.

In Figure 1, a
According to the invention, the cylindrical centering surface 26 '', 28 '' of the sheet metal casing, which is coaxial to the flow opening, has a collar 26 ', 28' projecting on the side 20 ', 22' facing away from the sliding surface of the plate, which essentially corresponds to that between the
The
In FIG. 3, a
It goes without saying that the invention could be disclosed in other variants which are no longer listed in detail.
