Abstract
A device (1) for protecting the mouth from sunbeams comprises a plate-like element having a human lip shape and including an intermediate slit (2), the plate-like element being adapted to be removably superimposed on the lips of an user.
Description
- The present invention relates to a device for protecting the mouth from sunbeams.
- As is known a person exposed to sunbeams in a horizontal or supine position must be properly protected at his/her mouth from the inpinging sunbeams which could have deleterious effect on the mouth.
- In fact, a direct exposure to the sun of the delicate tissues of the mouth is susceptible to cause inflamation and burn effects.
- On the other hand, the use or protecting creams or the like has a poor efficiency at the lip region.
- In addition to the foregoing, these protecting creams can be easily ingested so as to cause further problems.
- Other devised solutions, such as the application of masks and the like, have been found to be rather ineffective, since the application of a mask at the mouth region would cause unaesthetic signs on the un-tanned zones encompassing the mouth.
- Accordingly, the aim of the present invention is to overcome the above mentioned problem, by providing an element for protecting the mouth from sunbeams, which is adapted to accurately cover the region of the lips without causing any troubles for the user.
- Within the scope of the above mentioned aim, a main object of the present invention is to provide such a device for protecting the mouth from sunbeams which can be quickly and easily applied to the mouth region of an user.
- Yet another object of the present invention is to provide such a mouth protecting element or device which is very reliable and safe in operation.
- A further object of the present invention is to provide such a mouth protecting device which can be easily made starting from easily available materials and which, moreover, is very competitive from a mere economic standpoint.
- According to one aspect of the present invention, the above mentioned aim and objects, as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a device for protecting the mouth from sunbeams, characterized in that said protecting device comprises a plate-like element of human lip shape which includes an intermediate slit.
- In particular, the above mentioned plate-like or sheet device can be removably superimposed on the lips.
- Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become more apparent hereinafter from the following detailed disclosure of a preferred, though not exclusive, embodiment thereof, which is illustrated, by way of an indicative but not indicative example, in the figures of the accompanying drawings, where:
- Figure 1 schematically shows a person exposed to sunbeams;
- Figure 2 illustrates that same person provided with the mouth protecting device according to the invention;
- Figure 3 represents a front outer view of the protecting device according to the invention;
- Figure 4 illustrates the mouth protecting device according to the invention as seen from the inside thereof;
- Figure 5 is a top plan view of the mouth protecting device according to the invention; and
- Figure 6 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the mouth protecting device of the invention applied to the lips of an user.
- With reference to the above mentioned figures, the device for protecting the mouth from sunbeams, according to the invention, which has been generally indicated with the
reference number 1, comprises a plate or sheet-like element, of a suitable configuration, which is made of any suitable plastic material. - In particular, the plate-like protecting
device 1 has a human lip shape and is so bent as to precisely fit to the contour of the lips. - At a middle portion thereof, the protecting
device 1 comprises aslit 2 which is substantially arranged inside the region simulating the bottom lip. - Owing to its specifically designed configuration, the plate-
like device 1 can be superimposed on thelips 10 of an user, while providing a perfect masking from the sunbeams, without, however, preventing air from passing therethrough. - Advantageously, the plate-like protecting device will have a colour corresponding to that of the human lips, so that the device will be not unaesthetic.
- Thus, by using the protecting device according to the invention, an user can exclusively cover the lip region, so as to protect the mouth from inflamations, burns and other damaging effects.
- A further important aspect of the invention is that, owing to its very simple construction, the device of the invention can also be used as an efficient advertising article.
- While the invention has been disclosed and illustrated with reference to a preferred embodiments thereof, it should be apparent that the disclosed embodiment is susceptible to several modifications and variations all of which will come within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
Claims (5)

- A device according to Claim 1, wherein said slit is arranged between a top-lip shaped upper portion and a bottom-lip shaped lower portion of the mouth of the user.
- A device according to Claim 1, wherein said plate-like element has a profile fitting the contour of an user mouth.
- A device according to Claim 1, wherein said plate-like element has a colour corresponding to that of the human lips.
- A device according to Claim 1, wherein said plate-like element is made of a food-use plastic material.
