Abstract

The invention relates to an adapter plate for simple insertion in and removal from a conventional axial press. Using the adapter plate, an axial press is extended by use of wobble-pressing technology, so that both customary pressing methods can be carried out together in one axial press. In der Praxis haben sich Ausführungen bewährt, bei denen ein der Preßfläche gegenüberliegender Flächenbereich des Taumelkopfes kugelförmig ist und in einem Schaft mit kugelschalenförmiger Ausnehmung gleitbar angeordnet ist. An die Kugelfläche des Taumelkopfes schließt ein zylindrischer Fortsatz an, der in seinem Endabschnitt von einer Exzenterbüchse unschlossen ist. Diese Vorrichtung dient zur Erzeugung der Taumelbewegung. Ein derart als Kreisel ausgebildeter Taumelkopf führt eine Präzisionsbewegung um eine Präzisionsachse aus, die der Hauptachse der Axialpresse entspricht. Dabei überträgt er wegen der Linienberührung mit dem Preßgut im Takt der Kreisfrequenz des Taumelvorganges stets nur einen lokal wirkenden, axialen Preßdruck auf das Werkstück. Taumelvorrichtung und Antriebsaggregate befinden sich innerhalb der Presse. Derartige Ausführungen fanden bisher in der Praxis jedoch keinen Eingang. Ein Grund dafür dürfte die allgemein fehlende praktische Erfahrung mit vergleichbaren, unter hohem Druck arbeitenden Anlagen oder die durch die Entkoppelung der Bewegungen anfallenden Steuerungsprobleme sein. Die Aufgabe besteht im einzelnen darin, eine handelsübliche bzw. eine vorhandene Axialpresse mit wirtschaftlich und technisch vertretbarem Aufwand um die Funktion des Taumelpressens zu erweitern. Dabei kommt dem Umstand besondere Bedeutung zu, daß eine Adapterplatte gemäß Erfindung, in eine Axialpresse eingebaut, sowohl zum Taumelpressen, in der arretierten Ruhestellung des Taumelkopfes aber auch zum Axialpressen verwendet werden kann. Ein axial vorgepreßtes Pulver läßt sich mittels anschließendem Taumelpressen merklich höher verdichten. Höhere Grünlingsdichten als über das Axialpressen werden aber auch allein durch das Taumelpressen von Pulvern erreicht. Höhere Grünlingsdichten ergeben beim anschließenden Sintern verbesserte Werkstoff-Eigenschaften für den Preßling, insbesondere höhere Festigkeiten. Diese Eigenschaftsverbesserungen lassen sich nicht durch geänderte Parameter beim Sintern weniger dichter Preßlinge erreichen. So zeigt eine Vielzahl von Werkstoffen auch nach einem Langzeitsintern keine, oder keine wesentlich über die beim Pressen erreichte Dichte hinausgehende Dichtesteigerung, sondern lediglich unerwünschtes Kornwachstum. Das Maß der Restporosität im fertigen Sinterkörper bestimmt aber dessen mechanische Eigenschaften. Jede auch nur kleine Verringerung der Restporosität eines Werkstoffes im Bereich 90 % bis 100 % theoretischer Dichte erhöht die mechanischen Eigenschaften eines Werkstoffes in der Regel ganz wesentlich.
Durch die preiswerte Doppelfunktion einer Presse gemäß vorliegender Erfindung werden sintermetallurgisch hergestellte Formteile, an die hohe Festigkeitsanforderungen gestellt sind, in der Herstellung preislich wettbewerbsfähig zu solchen, die nach anderen Technologien gefertigt werden, insbesondere mittels Schmelzmetallurgie und mechanischen Formgebungsverfahren.

Adapterplatte für eine Axialpresse mit einem in einem Pressenständer angebrachten Werkzeuggestell, das sich entsprechend der Pressen-Hubrichtung in ein oberes und ein unteres Werkzeugteil gliedert,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Adapterplatte ein Werkzeug mit Taumelkopf zum Taumelpressen ist, die gegen Bauteilgruppen des Werkzeuggestells austauschbar oder in diesem zusätzlich anbringbar ist, und daß die Adapterplatte eine Vorrichtung zur Erzeugung der Taumelbewegung des Taumelkopfes sowie Kupplungselemente für den Anschluß von Übertragungseinrichtungen besitzt, über die sie mit einem außerhalb der Axialpresse befindlichen Antriebsaggregat für den Taumelkopf verbunden ist.
