Abstract
Description
The invention is particularly applicable to the detection of the air traffic situation in the vicinity of so-called regional airfields. These are general traffic landing sites with aerodrome control posts. Smaller planes in particular can take off and land at these landing sites according to visual and instrument flight rules.
If such a regional airfield is at least temporarily, e.g. at the beginning and at the end of the usual business hours, it is necessary to optimally record the air traffic situation in the area surrounding the regional airfield, at least temporarily, so that so-called conflict situations are avoided in particular.
The invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a generic method which enables an inexpensive determination of the air traffic situation, in particular in the vicinity of a regional airfield, aircraft with a wide variety of instrumentation being to be monitored and / or dispatched in a reliable manner. The invention is also based on the object of specifying an inexpensive and versatile arrangement for carrying out the method.
This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing parts of
A first advantage of the invention is that both an arrangement with the same basic equipment is required in both the aircraft and the ground station. This is spatially compact and inexpensive to manufacture.
A second advantage is that the basic equipment can be expanded and / or retrofitted in accordance with the requirements for the aircraft and / or the regional airfield.
A third advantage is that a voice radio link between the aircraft and / or a ground station is used in a cost-effective manner to transmit the position data of an aircraft and / or a ground station. This eliminates the need for additional transmitting and / or receiving systems.
A fourth advantage is that, in particular in an aircraft, no additional display device is generally required, but existing display devices can be used, e.g. the screen of a weather radar or a storm scope.
The invention is explained below using an exemplary embodiment with reference to a schematic drawing.

In the following description and the drawing, English designations are used in part, since these are common in the specialist circles and therefore serve to explain the invention in detail.
- a data processing system 10 ("Data Management &Control"), for example a so-called small computer ("one-card computer"), for processing the data present on the
data bus 1, - a data input / output device 11 ("Date I / 0"), for example a keyboard or a device for input / output of voice information for input / output of data such as flight plans and / or so-called waypoints (waymarks), and
- a voice data modem 2 ("Voice Date Modem"), which controls a generally available transmission and reception device 12 ("COM I / 0") for aviation radio ("Voice Data Communication").
- a device 8 (“A / C Data Library”) for storing and delivering the key data important for the aircraft, for example identifier, type and flight plan data,
- a system 5 for determining the position data of the aircraft. This system 5 advantageously contains a satellite navigation system, the data of which are sent to the
data bus 1 via an associated input / output point (NAV I / O), and - a
display unit 3, which advantageously uses the generally existing screen of the electronic flight instrument system ("Electronic Flight Instrument System" (EFIS)). This flight system is connected todata bus 1 via an associated input / output unit (EFIS I / 0).
In the example according to FIG. 2, this
The process sequence for detecting the aircraft is explained in more detail below.
In the case of the cooperative recording, the aircraft originally has, for example, at least one system for determining its own position data and a radio communication system for carrying out standard aviation radio. This equipment is now expanded so that equipment according to FIG. 1 results. With this equipment, it is possible to record your own position, transfer position, aircraft and flight plan data to the ground station, and receive position data from neighboring aircraft. It is also possible to display a simplified traffic situation on a display device, for example a weather radar screen, a stormscope or the screen of an electronic flight instrument system (EFIS). According to FIG. 1, the data of the own position via a navigation interface (NAV I / 0) from the navigation system on board the aircraft, e.g. either a flight management system or, alternatively, a GPS (satellite navigation system) with a position accuracy better than 0.1 NM (nautical miles ) and 50 ft (feet) in height and a data processing system 10 (Data Management & Control) where they are linked to the data of the aircraft (A / C DATA Library), such as the identifier, the short call sign, flight plan data. If the ground station is now selected selectively via standard aviation radio, it is received in the transmitting and receiving
Now a large number according to FIG. 1 equipped aircraft are cleared, i.e. Take-offs, landings and movements within the control zone are controlled, the associated ground station can advantageously be equipped very inexpensively. Only the one shown in FIG. 2 shown
If, on the other hand, additional or predominantly aircraft that do not allow cooperative detection have to be handled safely and reliably at a regional airfield, the associated ground station must use data for determining the position of aircraft, that of neighboring stations were determined using primary and secondary methods. Is such a ground station, for example according to FIG. 2 equipped with
In all cases, the ground station receives a data telegram assigned to the road user (aircraft) with information about its call sign, the current position and additional flight plan or intention data. In the case of digital voice and data transmission using the multiplex method, for example time division multiplexing, a voice data modem (Voice Data Modem) must be used to separate the data information. The data is fed to the central computer unit (Data Management & Control) via a communication interface (Data I / 0). In this computer, an air situation is generated from the currently received data of the road users, from already known data from previous transmissions, from the information of a possibly existing primary and secondary radar (via the interface radar I / 0) and from possibly existing triangulation data from two direction finders the graphic unit (Graphic I / 0) is output on a color screen. In addition, a query frequency for the road users is generated in the central unit as a function of their distance from the square and their intentions and is emitted via the communication part of the ground system. The cooperatively equipped aircraft then also automatically respond sequentially in the order in which they are addressed. The non-cooperative aircraft are carried through a track procedure and their position is checked or corrected in the event of radio contact. Other subscriber management methods are also possible, for example random access methods, in which, for example, aircraft automatically emit position reports in any chronological order.
With the data contained in this way, a determination of conflicts, e.g. insufficient safety distance, and a corresponding warning from the responsible traffic controller is possible, e.g. through a corresponding graphic display on a color screen.
Furthermore, it is possible to record all (aircraft) movements to and from the landing site for the purpose of automated so-called AIS messages for flight plans and for billing and administration.
The invention is not restricted to the examples listed. For example, it is possible to implement one or more function blocks shown in FIGS. 1 or 2 in software modules.
It is also possible to apply the described method and / or the arrangement to other traffic systems e.g. Use road or water traffic.
