Description

The present invention relates to a dishwasher provided with a microfilter.

Some dishwashers include, in addition to a medium filter and a coarse filter for filtering medium and large food particles detached from the dishes being washed, a microfilter to remove food microparticles which are suspended in the washing liquid. which often remain in the rinse aid and soil washed or rinsed dishes.

These food microparticles quickly foul the microfilter, impede and / or prevent a free passage of the stream of liquid to be filtered and cause the pressure of the liquid on the surface of this microfilter to rise to a value which can deform it, causing a clogging of the food particles present. aggravating the clogging of the microfilter and the disintegration of these particles into even finer microparticles and causing an outflow of liquid towards the outside, through the drain pump at rest and the drain hose and a risk of complete emptying of the liquid in the tank of these dishwashers. According to a known solution for limiting this rise in liquid pressure to a predetermined limit value compatible with this microfilter, a safety valve of the spring type is mounted in the system for supplying this microfilter with liquid to be filtered to allow the liquid to escape. overpressure, in the tank of these devices at a point below their medium and large filters. However, at this point are also inlets of their pumps for draining and recycling liquid. Relatively large food particles in the stream of liquid ejected by the safety valve can thus be sucked up by their recycling pump and sent into their sprinkler reels. These food particles may clog the orifices of these reels and compromise the effectiveness of the washing and / or rinsing dishes.

The present invention aimed at avoiding these drawbacks makes it possible to produce an economical dishwasher effective in washing and rinsing dishes, and provided with a microfilter the clogging of which with food particles is not likely to result in complete emptying of the liquid in the tank of the appliance.

According to the invention, a dishwasher fitted with medium and large filters and a microfilter supplied with liquid by a system for withdrawing a stream of liquid in the moving liquid in the bottom of the tank, and protected against overpressure of this liquid stream, is characterized in that it comprises a safety pipe having a first low end connected to this liquid current sampling system and a second high end opening into the tank above these medium filters and coarse, at a point situated relative to the surface of this microfilter, at a height H, in order to constitute a column of liquid equivalent to a predetermined pressure (Pm) admitted without causing a malfunction of the apparatus, the current of liquid discharged by the dishwasher recycling pump passing through the safety pipe and pouring into the tank when the fouling of the microfilter is such that the pressure of liquid on the surface of the microfilter becomes greater than said predetermined pressure.

To better understand the invention, an exemplary embodiment is illustrated below, illustrated by an appended drawing which represents a schematic and partial view of a dishwasher fitted with a microfilter.

A dishwasher 1 represented diagrammatically by broken lines comprises a tank 2, a lower dish basket 3, an upper dish basket 4, lower 5 and upper 6 reels, and a sump 8 in the bottom of the tank 2.

The sump 8 is in communication on the one hand through an intake pipe 9 with a liquid recycling pump 10 which sucks liquid in this sump and discharges it through pipes 12 and 13 in the lower sprinkler reels 5 and above 6, and on the other hand through an inlet 14, with a drain pump 18 which collects liquid in the lowest part of this sump 8 and discharges it outwards through a drain pipe 19.

The sump 8 is covered by a medium filter 20 and a coarse filter 22. The medium filter 20 separates the recycling pump 10, from the tank 2 and from the inlet 14 of the drain pump 18, and puts the tank 2 in communication with the inlet 14 of the drain pump 18, through its tubular opening 21 in which the coarse filter 22 is mounted.

A microfilter 25 is mounted in the tank 2 and filters the small food particles or microparticles conveyed by a stream of liquid sent by the recycling pump 10 through a bypass pipe 27. This stream of liquid represents only a fraction liquid discharged by the recycling pump 10. The microfilter 25 allows filtered liquid to pass into the tank 2 and retains food microparticles. During the operation of the dishwasher 1 in washing or rinsing, the microfilter 25 removes as and when measures the liquid in the tank 2, of all these food microparticles, which makes it possible to obtain, at the end of a washing or rinsing, clean dishes without trace of deposit of food particles. Clogging of this microfilter 25 by these food particles impedes a free passage of the stream of liquid to be filtered and causes the pressure of the liquid which can deform it to level with the surface of the microfilter, causing a clogging of the food particles present, aggravating the clogging. microfilter and disintegration of food particles into finer microparticles and drain the dishwasher.

According to the invention, a dishwasher 1 fitted with medium filters 20 and large filters 22 and a microfilter 25 supplied with liquid by a system for withdrawing a stream of liquid in liquid moving in the bottom of the tank and protected against an overpressure of liquid current due to clogging of this microfilter comprises a safety or discharge pipe 28 having a first lower end connected to this system of liquid current sampling and a second upper end 29 opens into the tank 2 above these medium filters 20 and coarse 22, at a point situated relative to the surface of this microfilter 25, at a height H, in order to constitute a column of liquid equivalent to a predetermined pressure Pm allowed without causing a malfunction of the device.

In the example illustrated, the system for withdrawing a stream of liquid supplying the microfilter 25 is constituted by a bypass line 27 connected by one of its ends to a discharge line of the liquid recycling pump and by its other end of this microfilter 25 through a partitioned section 15 of the inlet 14 of the drain pump 18, which communicates on one side with this drain pump 18 by a valve 16 and on the opposite side with the sump 8 by a valve 17, the valves 16 and 17 being non-return type valves. In an alternative embodiment not shown, the system for withdrawing a stream of liquid supplying the microfilter consists of a pipe having one end connected to this microfilter and another end placed in communication with an intake pipe of a pump. emptying system with two directions of rotation, one direction of rotation for supplying the microfilter with liquid to be filtered and an opposite direction of rotation for emptying the tank and cleaning or unclogging the microfilter. As a result, when the microfilter 25 is dirty and the liquid pressure on the surface of this microfilter becomes greater than Pm, the stream of liquid to be filtered coming from the recycling pump 10 through the line 27, borrows the safety line 28 and pours into the tank 2, above the medium filters 20 and large 22, through its upper end 29. The food particles contained in the stream of liquid ejected from the safety line 28 are then retained by the medium filter 20 and do not reach the recycling pump 10 which feeds the sprinklers 5 and 6. A risk of obstruction of the orifices of these sprinklers 5 and 6 is thus practically non-existent.

In the example illustrated, the microfilter 25 is connected to the drain pump 18 through the valve 16, which aims to create during a drain of the tank 2, a reverse flow of liquid through the microfilter 25 to unclog or rid it of food particles that are retained there. The valves 16 and 17 are in their closed positions during liquid microfiltration and in their open positions during emptying of the tank 2 or unclogging of the microfilter 25. In a start of operation, the drain pump 18 being at rest, under the effect of the pressure of the liquid current sent by the recycling pump 10 to the microfilter 25, the valve 17 is closed and the valve 16 is open and the opening of the valve 16 ends when the column of liquid formed in the drain pipe 19 is equivalent to the column of liquid formed in the safety line 28, that is to say the pressure of the stream of liquid at the level of the microfilter 25.

The safety pipe 28 comprises, near its upper end 29, a float 32 which indicates either by direct vision through a transparent wall of the pipe 28 or by a light or sound signal, on the one hand in its low position , an absence of liquid overpressure on the surface of the microfilter 25 or a clean microfilter 25 and on the other hand, in its high position a presence of liquid overpressure on the surface of this microfilter 25 or a fouled microfilter 25.

During operation of the dishwasher 1 in washing or in rinsing, the recycling pump 10 sucks liquid filtered by the medium filter 20 and on the one hand discharges a large part of this liquid through the pipes 12, 13 and the reels watering 5, 6 on the dishes stored in the baskets 3, 4 and on the other hand a fraction of this liquid through the bypass pipe 27 and the microfilter 25 in the tank 2. The food microparticles thus leaves retained by the microfilter 25 and separated as and when the washing or rinsing liquid.

The microfilter 25 gradually fouls and hinders the passage of the stream of liquid to be filtered, which causes the liquid pressure to rise on the surface of this microfilter. When this pressure of liquid on the surface of the microfilter 25 becomes greater than a predetermined pressure Pm admitted which does not deform or cause a crushing of the food particles present, aggravating the clogging of this microfilter, pressure equivalent to the column of liquid formed in the security pipe 28, the stream of liquid coming from the recycling pump 10 through the bypass line 27 avoids the difficult path of passage through the microfilter 25, takes the easy path of passage through the safety line 28, pours into the tank 2 above the medium and greasy filters 22, which on the one hand makes it possible to spare the microfilter 25 a deformation by a liquid pressure becoming too great and to avoid an untimely emptying of the tank of the apparatus and on the other hand to force the stream of liquid escaping from the safety line 28 to pass through the medium filter 20 which retains the excessively large es food particles before being sucked in again by the recycling pump 10 and thus avoid an untimely obstruction of the orifices of the sprinkler reels 5, 6 by these too large food particles and a poor washing or rinsing result of the dishes. The float 32 pushed by the current of liquid coming from the recycling pump 10, occupies its high position and signals the clogging of the microfilter 25. During a draining of the tank 2, the draining pump sucks the liquid not only through the medium filters 20 and large 22 but also the microfilter 25. The stream of liquid sucked through the microfilter 25 by the drain pump 18 in a direction opposite to that of the stream of liquid to be filtered passing through this microfilter 25, empties the food particles retained in the microfilter 25 and cleans it effectively.

Claims (6)

  1. Dishwasher equipped with medium (20) and coarse (22) filters and with a microfilter (25) supplied with liquid via a system for taking off a liquid stream from the liquid moving in the bottom of the vessel, and protected from an overpressure of this liquid stream, characterized in that it comprises a safety line (28) having a first, bottom end connected to this liquid-stream take-off system and a second, top end (29) emerging into the vessel (2) above these medium (20) and coarse (22) filters, at a point located with respect to the surface of this microfilter (25) at a height (H), for the purpose of constituting a liquid column equivalent to a predetermined pressure (Pm) allowed without resulting in incorrect operation of the apparatus, the liquid stream delivered by the recirculating pump (10) of the dishwasher passing via the safety line (28) and discharging into the vessel when the fouling of the microfilter (25) is such that the liquid pressure at the surface of the microfilter becomes higher than the said predetermined pressure.
  2. Dishwasher according to Claim 1, characterized in that the system for taking off a liquid stream supplying the microfilter (25) is constituted by a branch line (27) connected up via one of its ends to a delivery pipe from the liquid recirculating pump (10) and via its other end to this microfilter (25) through a partitioned section (15) of the inlet (14) of the draining pump (18).
  3. Dishwasher according to Claim 1, characterized in that the system for taking off a liquid stream supplying the microfilter is constituted by a line having a first end connected to the microfilter and a second end brought into communication with an inlet pipe of a draining pump having two rotation directions, one rotation direction for supplying the microfilter with liquid to be filtered and a reverse rotation direction for draining the vessel and for cleaning or unclogging this microfilter.
  4. Dishwasher according to Claim 2, characterized in that, in the system for taking off a liquid stream supplying the microfilter (25), the partitioned section (15) of the inlet (14) of the draining pump (18) is closed at the two ends by two valves (16, 17) of the non-return type which are in their closed positions during filtering of liquid by the microfilter (25) and in their open positions during draining of the vessel (2).
  5. Dishwasher according to Claim 4, characterized in that, in the valves (16, 17) partitioning the common section (15) of the inlet (14) of the draining pump (18), the valve (16) which brings the microfilter (25) into communication with this draining pump (18) is opened under the effect of the pressure of the liquid stream supplying the microfilter (25), at a start of operation until a liquid column formed in a drain pipe (19) is equivalent to a liquid column formed in the safety line (28), that is to say the pressure of this liquid stream at this microfilter (25).
  6. Dishwasher according to Claim 1, characterized in that the safety line (28) comprises, in the vicinity of its top end (29), a float (32) which indicates presence or absence of a liquid overpressure at the surface of the microfilter (25).
