Description

The invention relates to a method for producing a surface of an inking roller according to claims 1 and 2.

Haschuren, bei denen die farbführende Schicht zwischen die Walzenoberfläche spiralförmig umfahrenden freistehenden Stegen insgesamt tiefer gelegt und nicht durch eine Vielzahl Querstege abgeteilt wird, ist in dieser Druckschrift überhaupt nicht angesprochen.EP-A-04 86 855 (state of the art according to Article 54 (3) (4) EPC for the contracting states CH, DE, FR, GB, IT, LI) is a method for producing a surface of an inking roller and a surface became known by this method. Here, oleophilic and hydrophilic surface portions of an inking roller lying side by side are generated. For this purpose, an oleophilic metal layer is applied to a metallic surface of a roller, into which grooves are incorporated. These grooves are filled with a hydrophilic ceramic material. The resulting surface of the inking roller is processed in such a way that oleophilic and hydrophilic areas are at the same level. A large number of cells are then introduced into the oleophilic areas. The production of so-called hashes, in which the ink-guiding layer between the roller surface of the free-standing webs which spiral around it is lowered overall and is not divided by a large number of cross webs, is not addressed at all in this publication.

Here, a copper layer is applied to the impregnated base body of the roller, in the wells are incorporated, the webs of which are covered by a ceramic layer.

The invention has for its object to provide a surface for an inking roller with a surface which has hydrophilic and oleophilic surface portions and a method for producing a surface of such a roller.

The object is achieved with the method steps of the characterizing part of claim 1 and the features of the characterizing part of claim 2.

The advantages that can be achieved with the roller are, in particular, that a roller is created in which the small oleophilic surfaces are made of an oleophilic metal can exist and after flushing or chemical ablation can easily be applied again to the target deepening, e.g. B. by applying material by an electro-chemical process or vice versa, if the load-bearing hydrophilic areas that are in contact with the doctor blades are more worn, the deeper oleophilic areas. In this case, the oleophilic areas are electrochemically removed until the desired distance from the oleophilic to the hydrophilic surface of immediately adjacent areas is reached again. The life of the roller can be extended further.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and will be described in more detail below.

On z. B. a lateral surface 1 of a steel roller 2 or on a lateral surface 1 of a tube that can be pushed onto a roller, a z. B. 0.6 mm thick metal layer 3 made of an oleophilic material, for. B. copper, flame sprayed, electro-chemically applied or plated.

Subsequently, the oleophilic surface 4 of the metal layer 3 is provided with a number of depressions 6 which are so deep that they either lead to the outer surface 1 or end within the thickness of the oleophilic metal layer 3. These depressions 6 can have any cross section and can be produced in a wide variety of ways, for. B. by laser, turning, rolling, engraving, etc. The depressions 6 can, for. B. as one or multi-stage helical grooves 7 with z. B. a slope of 1 mm, a width of z. B. 0.5 mm and 0.15 mm depth.

The grooves 7 can be in the same direction but also in opposite directions to one another. The recesses 6 can also have a wide variety of cross sections, z. B. be round, diamond-shaped or elongated.

After the indentations 6 have been introduced into the oleophilic metal layer 3, at least the indentations 6 are completely filled with a largely wear-resistant and hydrophilic material 8, e.g. B. by means of the flame spraying process.

The largely abrasion-resistant material 8 consists, for. B. made of ceramic (CR₂ O₃). Since the targeted filling of the depressions 6 is not possible, it cannot be avoided that the entire surface 4 of the oleophilic metal layer 3 is covered with at least one thin layer 9 of the material 8. This layer 9 of material 8 is now removed so far, e.g. B. ground that the material of the metal layer 3 - interrupted by the fillings 10 of the recesses 6 - is completely exposed. The outer surfaces 11, 12 of material 8 and fillings 10 of the depressions 6 are now at the same level. Now the outer surfaces 11 of the entire metal layer 8 are optionally placed lower (FIG. 2) and thus become the final oleophilic transport surface 13, so that they are e.g. B. 0.03 mm below the outer surface 12 of the ground fillings 15 with a hydrophilic transport surface 14. This can be done in different ways, e.g. B. by etching or electro-chemical removal.
