Claims (20)

  1. A device comprising, on the one hand, an excavating machine for digging trenches, and on the other hand, a box (1) able to slide in a trench, as well as means for connecting film, the said box (1) comprising in its front part a loading magazine (2) for a film (3) mounted vertically inside the box (1) and comprising in its rear part a vertical slot (10) for allowing the free passage of the film (3), the two edges of the slot (10) being provided with lips (11, 12) to seal against the penetration of water or mud which may be in the trench, the said device comprising, between the said loading magazine (2) and the said vertical passage slot (10), a connecting chamber (4) provided at each end with a pair of vertical contra-rotary rollers (5, 6, 7, 8) mounted in such a way as to be displaced, while rotating on themselves, laterally towards each other or in such a manner as to press against the film (3) producing traction uniformly in a straight line in the direction towards the outlet of the box (1) during operations for connecting (Figure 6) a leader of a new film to the end of a preceding film and tensioning the film itself after connection, or in such a manner as to move apart to allow the free passage of the film between them.
  2. A device according to claim 1, in which a connecting piece (19, 25-26) inserted vertically into the connecting chamber (4) is used, each end of the film (3) comprising a vertical retainer ring or roll (18) of a complementary shape and each cooperating with an oblong hole (20, 21), open at its end, of the connecting piece (19), characterised in that the connecting piece comprises a middle hole (24) connected to the oblong holes (20, 21) by radial channels for the injection of a sealing product.
  3. A device according to claim 1, characterised in that the connecting piece is comprised of two male-female parts (25-26) comprising cooperating indentations along their connecting line and provided with a central recess (27) forming a housing for a connecting pin (28).
  4. A device according to claim 1, characterised by the use in the connecting chamber (4) of two grips (39, 40) able to compress the connecting region of two film ends (3a, 3b), an opening (41) being provided in the contact plane of one of the grips (39) for the passage of a welding tool (42).
  5. A device according to claim 1, in which the connecting means comprise a welding tool, characterised in that means are provided in order for the film ends (3a, 3b) to be kept compressed in a covered region so that the welding is ensured while the compression is maintained.
  6. A device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the device comprises at least one deflector means (14, 35-38) to apply the film (3) onto a side of the trench.
  7. A device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it comprises an outlet region (13) receiving a guide (16) for the lowering of a draining collector and a funnel (17) for pouring a loose material into a trench.
  8. A sliding box of the type able to slide in a trench in order to position a film of insulating or draining material in the said trench, the said box comprising a magazine (2) of film (3), in which the film (3) is stored in such a way as to open out into the trench by leaving the box (1) via the rear part (13) of the box with respect to the direction it slides in the trench and by passing through an outlet slot (10) of which the edges are provided with sealing lips (11, 12, 37, 38), a space (4) being provided for the passage of a means for connecting the film (3), characterised in that the said space (4) is a connecting chamber (4) comprised of a narrowing between the lateral walls of the box (1); that at the entrance of the said chamber (4) two rollers (5-6) are rotatably mounted according to a mechanical mounting permitting them, while rotating upon themselves, to be displaced laterally towards each other on both sides of the film (3); that at the rear of the said chamber (4) another pair of rollers (7-8) is mounted according to a mechanical mounting permitting them, while rotating upon themselves, to be displaced laterally towards each other on both sides of the film (3), each pair of rollers (5-6, 7-8) either pressing against the film in such a way as to produce traction on the film (3) uniformly in a straight line in the direction towards the outlet of the box (1) and in such a way as to drive, in proximity to each other, the end of a preceding film (3) and the leader of a few film (3) in order to connect them (Fig 6, Fig 11), or moving apart in order to allow the film to pass freely.
  9. A sliding box according to claim 8, characterised in that the rollers (5-6, 7-8) are rotationally driven, each pair of rollers being independent of the other.
  10. A sliding box according to claim 9, characterised in that the driving of each pair of rollers (5-6, 7-8) is reversible.
  11. A sliding box according to any one of claims 8 to 10, characterised in that the rollers (5-6, 7-8) are each mounted on a beam which itself is pivotably mounted about a horizontal axis disposed at the bottom of the box and that the said box (1) comprises means for immobilising each beam individually in a plurality of different positions.
  12. A sliding box according to any one of claims 8 to 11, characterised in that the connecting chamber (4) is closed in its rear part by a transverse partition (9) provided with the said outlet slot (10) for the film (3) and that the said outlet slot (10) is sufficiently large to allow the free passage of the film (3) and means (19) for connecting two successive films.
  13. A sliding box according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the outlet region (13) located behind the connecting chamber (4) is provided with a deflector shutter (14) articulated on an axis (15) supported by one or other of the walls of the box.
  14. A sliding box according to any one of claims 8 to 13, in which the magazine (2) is comprised of a container for a film roller (3), characterised in that the magazine (2) is provided with bearings to receive the chuck of a vertically-disposed film roller.
  15. A sliding box according to claim 8, characterised in that the front part (2) is circular in cross-section.
  16. A sliding box according to any one of claims 8 to 13, characterised in that the magazine (2) comprises two pairs of bearings to receive the chucks of two vertically juxtaposed film rollers.
  17. A sliding box according to any one of claims 8 to 13 in which the magazine (2) is comprised of a magazine for a film (3) folded in a concertina (32) manner, characterised in that the magazine (2) comprises means for applying uniform pressure onto the concertina-folded film (3) in the direction ensuring the progression of the concertina (32) of film (3) in the magazine (2) as it unwinds.
  18. A sliding box according to claim 17, characterised in that the said means for applying uniform pressure comprise a pressing plate associated with a spring.
  19. A sliding box according to claim 17, characterised in that the said means for applying uniform pressure comprise an inflatable membrane (32) in order to facilitate the recharging of the magazine (2) after the membrane (33) has deflated.
  20. A sliding box according to any one of claims 8 to 13, characterised in that the magazine (2) is arranged to receive two spools (29-30) spaced from each other and enclosed in an unwinding band (31) forming a belt on which the film (3) is wound.
