Description

The present invention relates to a shed, for example for storage, of the type associating an arched metal frame with a tarpaulin stretched over the frame.

Various buildings of the type are already known, in particular by the publication FR2495661 according to which the structure adapted to receive flexible covers, such as tarpaulins, consists of a hanging arch resting on gantries, or by publication FR2540907 according to which the structure comprises for the 'essential arcs in the shape of a basket handle interconnected by continuous struts or purlins, the connection of which is ensured by a closed collar and makes it possible to produce a range of metal constructions capable of receiving a flexible or rigid cover.

Although stipulating that these frameworks are particularly adapted to receive flexible covers, of the tarpaulin type, none of these solutions recommends the means of association of said tarpaulins with said frameworks, nor the devices necessary for the evacuation of rainwater related to any cover.

The aim of the present invention is to propose a structure associating an arched metal frame with a tarpaulin which may be suitable for large buildings, such as storage sheds, indoor tennis courts, etc., while offering simple means for solving problems of water flow, problems related to pressure differences between inside and outside and especially a simple and economical device for fixing and tensioning the tarpaulin on the frame.

According to the present invention, a storage shed for example, of the type associating a metal frame made up of a plurality of arches braced by purlins with a tarpaulin stretched over the frame is generally characterized in that the arches semi-circumferential, called semi-arched arcs, are formed in curved I-beams, bolted to the ground by means of plates welded at their ends called feet, the purlins located near the feet of the arcs called smooth being at a distance d from the ground between 0.20 m and 0.40 m, in that the cover comprises along each of its longitudinal edges a closed fold provided with eyelets which separates the cover itself from an extension known as a skirt of a height substantially equal to twice the distance d and in that the said tarpaulin is stretched over the entire length of the framework, for each of its longitudinal edges, by a bungee cord attached to, or passing through, the eyelets and passing alternately to the below the heald, while the ends of the skirts drag on the ground under the heald; this train helps to resolve the problems of depression and discharge of rainwater outside the hangar.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the sheet is bordered along each of its front edges by a hem intended for the passage of a cable; the tension of the cable by tensioners with screws connected to each of the plates of each end arc causes the tension of the sheet on each of its front edges.

Preferably, the I-beams are bent in the plane of their core so that the cavity formed by the core and the half wings is at the front and thus constitutes for each of the end arcs, the housing of the cable passed through the 'hem of the sheet where it results in its blocking in the housing during the tension of the cable.

According to another aspect of the invention, a cable is stretched over each of the intermediate arcs and over the sheet by means of screw tensioners passing through the skirts in holes reserved to allow them to be connected to the plates, where the tarpaulin is more resistant to lifting generated by the suction of the winds or by the pressure differences between inside and outside.

According to another aspect of the invention, each end of each of the arched solid arches is extended by a vertical jamb formed in the same I-beam over a height substantially equal to d , the feet and the welded plates being carried over to the ends said legs.

Very advantageously, symmetrically along the longitudinal axis of the hangar, the feet are connected together by a concrete sill, the surface of which extends externally over the entire length of the hangar by a form of gutter in which the skirt dips slightly, d 'where there results a perfect flow towards a point of evacuation of rainwater flowing on the tarpaulin or on two tarpaulins in the case of construction of several sheds of the type produced then symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of each of the gutters.

The present invention will be better understood and details will be apparent from the description which will be given of a particular embodiment in relation to the figures of the appended plates, in which:
  • fig.1 is a perspective of the framework of the invention,
  • fig. 2 and 3 give the details of association of the tarpaulin with the framework

  • fig.5 is an exploded perspective of the anchoring device,
  • Fig.6 schematically illustrates the function of the skirt during inclement weather.
  • fig.7 and 8 illustrate so-called "longrines" and "low wall" infrastructures.

In fig.1, it appears that a metal frame intended to receive a stretched tarpaulin is made up of a plurality of semi-circumferential arcs 1, called semicircular arcs, extended at each of their ends by a vertical jamb 10 d 'a height substantially equal to d , the arc 1 and legs 10 assembly being formed in a curved I-beam, bolted to the ground by means of plates 4 welded at their ends called feet 5; the arches I are braced by purlins 20, those located near the feet 5 called healds 3 being at a distance d from the ground of between 0.20 m and 0.40 m; a series of triangular tubular spacers 21 of stringer 3 with purlin 20 and purlin 20 with purlin 20 and arranged in each of the end spans ensures the bracing of the frame.

On fig.2 and 3 appear several details allowing the tension of the tarpaulin 2 on the framework. First of all, the cover comprises along each of its longitudinal edges, a closed fold 6 provided with eyelets 7,7 ′ which separates the cover itself from an extension known as a skirt 8; said tarpaulin is stretched, over the entire length of the framework and for each of its longitudinal edges, by a bungee cord 9 passing through an eyelet 7 on two, passing alternately below the heddles 3 and finally hooked to the alternating eyelets 7 ′ , while the skirt retains an 8 ′ train under the stringer. Then, the sheet comprises, along each of its front edges 11, a hem 12 through which passes a cable 13; the I-beam 22 being curved in the plane of its core, the cavity formed by the core and the half wings is located at the front and constitutes the housing 14 of said cable passed through the hem 12 of the sheet and stretched over the end arc 1 by screw tensioners 15 connected to the plates 4.

The front view of two twin hangars of the invention given in fig. 4 shows the flap 16 in the form of a circular segment which extends the cover 2 on each of its front edges and which closely follows the upper part of the opening delimited by each of the end arcs 1, the hem 12 intended for the passage of a cable and the skirts 8 which plunge slightly into the channel 17 formed externally in the surface of the sill 30 connecting longitudinally the feet of each frame.

In fig.5, the anchoring device for each of the legs 5 of the frame comprises two threaded rods 18, a counter-plate 19 of the same dimensions as the plate 4 welded to the foot 5, one and the other being drilled in superposition of two holes 23 intended for the passage of said rods, and a U-shaped metal section 24 whose width e corresponds to the spacing of the two holes and the length L is of a value slightly less than the sum L₁ + L₂ + L₁, L¹ being the width of the plate 4 and L₂ that of the channel 17; said section 24 is embedded in the concrete of the sill 30 at a depth p equal to the length of the rod 18 minus the length necessary for the bolting of the plate 4 on the counter-plate 19; the two rods 18 welded to the profile 24 and assembled to the counter-plate 19 are also embedded vertically in the concrete of the sill on the depth p ; the other two threaded rods 18 'assembled to a counter-plate 19' and arranged symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the gutter 17 are intended for anchoring a foot of an identical frame constructed in symmetry.

In fig. 6, the left part of the figure illustrates a situation of abundant snow; a significant amount 30 of snow has accumulated between two neighboring hangars 31, 32; this accumulated snow presses on the ends of the skirts 8, which then behave like flaps, preventing the passage of snow under the aisles of the sheds and the channeling when it melts towards the channel 17. The right part of the figure illustrates a strong wind situation; the wind which has rushed into the hangar is evacuated (arrow 35) along the sides of the hangar by lifting the skirt 17; conversely, a depression in the hangar will cause the skirt to lift inward. It is the presence of the swinging and slightly trailing skirt along the edges of the sheet which allows these favorable effects with respect to snow, rain and wind, and which thus constitutes an important characteristic of the invention.

7 and 8, the infrastructure, or anchoring structure, of the preceding figures, formed for each side of the building by a sill "cast" on site, has been replaced by prefabricated transportable elements, in order to considerably reduce the duration of implantation and to allow, in a reduced time, the delivery "turnkey".

In fig. 7 an infrastructure is constituted by a plurality of sill elements 40 aligned end to end in a pit 42, said elements incorporating on their upper face a U-shaped profile 43 with edges folded inwards, intended firstly for the fixing by bolting of the plates 4 forming the foot of the arcs 1, and on the other hand to the joining of two neighboring elements, connecting bars 44 bolted under the folded edges, inside the profile. This infrastructure arrangement has the advantage of ease of dismantling.
