Description

The present invention relates to a process for differentiating or locating two similar parts made from identical blanks, and more particularly relates to marking or locating affixed to such parts.

To avoid confusion during the machining or assembly of two similar parts, it is common to make a specific marking on the blanks used to make these parts to differentiate them from one another. In the case of large series, such marking requires the production of several different series of blanks, which increases the volume of blanks to be stored as well as the production costs.

Another known solution consists in affixing a distinctive sign on the parts after machining the blanks, for example with a brush or by punching. However, this solution adds an operation to the parts production process and consequently increases the risk of errors.

The object of the invention is therefore to propose a method for differentiating two similar parts produced from identical rough blanks by machining different parts according to the part to be obtained, which is inexpensive, of rapid execution and without risk of fault.

To this end, the subject of the invention is a method of locating two similar parts produced from identical rough blanks by machining different parts according to the part to be obtained, of the type consisting in affixing to each part a specific marking, characterized in that each blank undergoes the affixing of the two specific markings with the marking corresponding to one of the parts located at the location of a part to be machined for the production of the other part, after which one of the two marked parts is machined to leave the corresponding marking on the part thus obtained to this room only.

This process is further characterized in that the markings came from molding or forging with the rough blank.

The invention is characterized in that each marking consists of a sign which can be identified at best if the blank or the part is arranged similarly to its machining and / or mounting position.

The subject of the invention is also a part obtained by machining a part of the rough blank, characterized in that it can be differentiated from a second part obtained by machining another part of an identical blank according to the described process.

However, other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge more clearly from the detailed description of an embodiment given solely by way of example, which follows and refers to the appended drawings, in which:

Figure 2 is a broken perspective view of an assembly comprising two similar parts, identified according to the method according to the invention.

Referring to Figure 1, we see a draft rough 1 of planar shape and having a substantially trapezoidal contour. The blank 1 is substantially symmetrical with respect to its longitudinal axis XX ′. This blank comprises a bore 11 centered on the axis XX ′ as well as two holes 12, 13 formed symmetrically on either side of this axis, near the end of greatest width of the trapezoid.

In Figure 2, there is shown an example of mounting two parts 1G and 1D respectively left and right, which have each been made from rough blanks 1 identical to that just described.

More specifically, the left part 1G was obtained by machining a 3G part which differentiates it from the right part 1D produced by machining in another blank 1 of a 3D part. In the figures, the 3G and 3D differentiation parts are through holes.

It is also noted in FIG. 2 that markings 4G and 4D respectively specific to the parts 1G and 1D are affixed thereon, in order to distinguish them from one another.

According to the invention, the method of locating or differentiating parts 1G and 1D consists in affixing to each blank the specific markings corresponding to the two parts which can be produced from this blank, so that the marking corresponding to one of the parts is located at the location of the part to be machined to make the other part, then carry out this machining so as to leave on the part thus obtained only the 4G or 4D marking corresponding to this part.

In other words, the 4G marking is affixed on the blank 1 at the location where the 3D drilling to obtain a 1D part, while the 4D marking is affixed at the location where the 3G drilling can be machined to obtain a 1G part. Thanks to the process specific to the invention, when a 1D part must be produced from a blank 1, the 4G marking disappears during the machining of the 3D part, whereas if a 1G part must be produced, the 4D marking disappears during machining of the 3G part.

Although in the figures the 3G and 3D parts are holes, other types of machining such as milling, countersinking, cutting or the like can also be carried out to differentiate the parts 1G and 1D, as long as these machining operations make it possible to make disappear the marking which does not correspond to the part which one wishes to obtain.

Following the example visible in FIG. 1, the markings 4G, 4D came from forging with the blank 1. Obviously, in the case of a rough blank produced by molding, the markings could have come from the foundry by providing in the molds suitable footprints.

De même, ces signes identifiables peuvent faciliter le positionnement des ébauches brutes 1 sur un poste d'usinage, par exemple pour la réalisation des perçages 3G, 3D.Referring to Figure 2, we see that two parts or plates 1G, 1D made from blanks identical to 1 and identified by the method described above, are mounted on a rear axle 5 of a motor vehicle via of link arms 6G, 6D respectively. On parts 1G, 1D according to the invention, the markings are a letter "G" for the left part and a letter "D" for the right part. As can be seen in FIG. 1, these markings 4G, 4D are therefore respectively constituted by an identifiable sign at best if the part is oriented in a manner similar to its mounting position, in order to simplify their mounting on the arms of the rear axle 5. Likewise, these identifiable signs can facilitate the positioning of the rough blanks 1 on a machining station, for example for making 3G, 3D holes.

We therefore obtained in accordance with the invention a method of locating two similar parts which is rapid since it makes it possible both to perform differentiation machining and to erase unnecessary markings on the corresponding part. We understand that thanks to the method according to the invention, the operation of affixing the markings is greatly simplified and that the recognition of the part which it is desired to machine as well as the determination of its position can be carried out easily by a simple observation. In addition, the markings and the machining carried out on the parts can be provided so as to be able to be detected by robot, in order to automatically carry out the positioning and the machining of the blanks or parts.

Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment which has just been described.

On the contrary, all the technical equivalents of the means described and their combinations are included in the invention if they are made according to the spirit.
