Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a waste collection container for compostable waste, in particular for collecting household waste or the like, consisting essentially of an upper lid and a closable by means of the lid lower, made up of wall part and bottom container housing, with a separated in the area of the floor space of the interior Container housing, which is set up to receive the liquid carried by the waste, the space part being separated from the rest of the interior of the container housing by a horizontally resting grate in the rest position, that the grate is parallel to the rear of the container housing, horizontal, parallel to the rear Axis can be pivoted in the direction of the lid and rests on fixed supports on the container housing.
Such a waste collection container has become known from EP-A-0 386 568. In such a waste collection container, it is ensured that the stored and composted waste is above all as well as possible freed from the entrained liquid, in order to ensure a more rotting carried by aerobic bacteria and thus the rotting which is otherwise mainly carried by anaerobic bacteria and the avoid unpleasant odors associated with this if possible. For this purpose it is provided, inter alia, that the liquid is rich in the area of the bottom of the container housing the bottom of the container housing, the liquid is collected and it is ensured that it can - at least partially - either flow directly out of the container housing and / or evaporate via a ventilation element; in the generic publication, this ventilation element is limited to bores in the container wall via evaporation is only imperfectly achieved. In addition, the liquid condenses on the lid in these known containers, so that it drips back into the container.
Improved evaporation is shown in the waste collection container known from EP-A-0 401 578, in which a trough-like insert is provided which separates a (very small) part of the container volume for the liquid discharge. The bottom of the trough-like insert is ribbed, on the one hand to achieve dimensional stability in relation to the deposited waste and on the other hand to actually gain space for the separated liquid which gets there through a recess in the bottom of the insert.
Such a constructive arrangement is fully functional; but it also has disadvantages. First of all, the space available for collecting the liquid is relatively small, and especially when the discharge of liquid from the container housing is disturbed, for example when the drainage channel provided in the area of the bottom is clogged, is no longer sufficient, especially if a particularly high liquid-laden waste. The emptying of such a waste collection container can also give rise to difficulties. It is conceivable that the trough-like insert detaches itself from the area of the floor when the waste collection container is tilted. There is also a risk that even if the use remains stationary in the waste collection container, remnants of the waste beneath it are not distributed.
The invention has therefore set itself the task of setting up a waste collection container of the type specified at the outset for holding large amounts of liquid and at the same time ensuring that the mechanical emptying of this waste collection container proceeds smoothly and takes place completely.
This object is achieved with the features of claim 1.
In this way, a much larger part of the space for collecting the liquid is created in the area of the bottom of the waste collection container than was previously possible. This initially ensures that the waste stored in the collection container can be drained to a high degree. If the waste collection container is emptied, the grate swings under the influence of gravity almost up to the rear of the container housing, so that even waste parts that have slipped through the grate into the separated space can now be poured out of the container housing. The grate then returns to its horizontal rest position when the waste collection container is installed.
Further expedient refinements of the invention are contained in
The storage of the swiveling grate is actually arbitrary; but if it takes place on the venting element which can be inserted into the container housing, the grate forms with it a subassembly which only needs to be inserted into the waste collection container. Depending on the type of waste to be stored, various grates or different waste collection containers can also be kept in stock be equipped with different grates. The effort is worthwhile in any case, because this way the waste can be pre-composted well.
The details and further advantages of the invention are explained below with reference to the drawing using an exemplary embodiment.

In Fig. 1, a container housing 1 and a
In the area of the
The
The invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment described; in particular, the shape and the composition of the
