Damit ergibt sich der Vorteil, daß nach Auspacken des transportierten Gerätes die Seitenteile einfach auf das Deckel- bzw. Bodenteil geklappt werden, so daß ein kompaktes Paket entsteht. Für den Kunden ist es wichtig, daß bei dieser Art der Verpackung praktisch nur zwei Verpackungsteile vorhanden sind, und zwar einmal das Deckel- und einem das Bodenteil mit den jeweils angelenkten Seitenteilen. Diese beiden kompakten Einzelpakete können leicht zu einem postgerechten Paket zusammengefügt werden. Dabei kann eine abgezogene Schupffolie innerhalb dieses z. Claims (10)

  1. A packaging for an appliance with a rigid housing, e.g. for a household appliance, such as a washing machine, dishwasher or the like, with a base- and a cover part (10), which parts (10) are releasably connected with each other by means of side pieces (15) with a form fit, characterised in that the side pieces (15) are connected by their one end (16) by means of a hinged connection (17,18) with the base-or cover part (10) such that all the parts (10, 15) can be folded together into a compact package.
  2. A packaging according to Claim 1, characterised in that both the base- and also the cover part (10) are provided with articulated side pieces (15), which are able to be connected with each other on the front side at their free ends with a form fit (15b) and the length of which is adapted to the height of the appliance (19) which is to be packed.
  3. A packaging according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the side pieces (15) are constructed at their attachment ends as a tongue (16), which is connected by means of a first hinged connection (17) with the outer edge (14) of the cover- or base part (10) and by means of a second hinged connection (18) with the side piece (15).
  4. A packaging according to Claim 3, characterised in that film hinges (17, 18) are provided as hinged connections.
  5. A packaging according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the side pieces are constructed as struts (15) articulated in the corner regions of the cover-or base parts (10), provided on the inner side with a corner section.
  6. A packaging according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the side pieces are designed in the form of a frame and are constructed on their two longitudinal sides as corner section struts.
  7. A packaging according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the cover- and base parts (10) are constructed with the articulated side pieces (15) so as to be identical to each other.
  8. A packaging according to one of Claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the cover-and base parts (10) are provided with recesses and projections (13a) such that two cover- and/or base parts (10), which are joined to each other, are able to be connected with each other with a form fit.
  9. A packaging according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterised in that a plastic is provided as material.
  10. A packaging according to one of Claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the packaging with the inserted appliance (19) is surrounded by a shrinkage film.
