Abstract

The subject of the present invention is a sliding drawer with roller bearing, the bottom of which consists of a plastic moulded, bowl-shaped supporting base (1), whose support and sliding guideways (1a) are made on the opposite lateral walls of the drawer itself. The front wall (2) of this bowl is perfectly vertical and smooth, while the three other walls (3) (4), which are all inclined towards the centre, are finished on their upper part by a flat external wing (5) which delimits the bowl on the three sides, like a stirrup piece; it being provided that panels for lateral closing of the drawer as well as any other component of the drawer itself can be applied to this stirrup piece. <IMAGE>

Description

The present patent application for industrial invention relates to a sliding drawer on a bearing, the bottom of which consists of a bearing base in the form of a bowl, molded in plastic.

The constructive design of the object drawer has no precedent in this niche of technique which today is mainly based on two manufacturing systems.

The first, which is older and more traditional, is mainly used in the production of drawers made entirely of wood and where the bearing action is entrusted to the chassis consisting of four side walls which are fixed together with connection systems capable of ensuring a resistance and safe junction between the different parts.

The side walls have inside, near their lower edge, a small longitudinal groove suitable for housing the bottom panel which in this way is embedded in the center of the four side walls of the drawer.

The slide and support slides of the drawer are screwed to the outside of the two side walls of the left and right of the drawer; these slide on wheels which turn madly in support counter-slides which are screwed onto the internal walls of the cabinet containing the drawer.

This constructive technique which, even if carried out industrially can be defined of the artisanal type, was recently exceeded by a new manufacturing system of high technological quality and which is particularly adapted for standard productions in very large series; this system provides for the use of two sheet metal side walls functioning as load-bearing structures for all the other components of the drawer.

In detail, the upper edge of the aforementioned sheet metal side walls is folded towards the outside in order to be able to couple and slide on the bearings of the counter-slide, thus eliminating the manufacturing and installation costs of the slides illustrated in the first system. .

The lower longitudinal edge of the aforesaid side walls of sheet metal folded to the press has fins folded at right angles to the inside so as to be able to function as lugs for supports and anchoring of the panel which constitutes the bottom of the drawer; similarly at the rear and front ends of the above walls in role, external hooks are provided and on which to install and screw the front and rear closure panels of the drawer.

The drawer according to the invention completely changes the design of the two aforementioned constructive techniques, from the moment that the bearing function is assigned, which had never been done before, at bottom of the drawer which is produced for this purpose in the form of a monolithic bowl, molded from plastic material.

This bowl becomes the attachment and support element for all the other components and accessories of the drawer, thus allowing different and special arrangements so as to be able to thus produce, from an identical bearing structure, different models of drawers such as for example pan drawers, cutlery trays, bottle drawers, drawers for office files, etc ...

In this regard, it should be noted that the depth of the bowl in question is such that it can already operate on its own and without any other accessory, such as a cutlery tray; in this case the bottom of the bowl could be made with several sectors, divided by partitions obtained during the molding phase of the bowl.

More specifically, this type of bowl having a quadrangular shape has a smooth front wall on which to place and apply the front closure panel of the drawer, while the other three side walls, all slightly inclined towards the center, are finished superiorly by a wing external flat which delimits the bowl on three sides, like a stirrup.

This bowl has below a network of ribs capable of imparting the necessary stiffness to the surface of the bottom of the bowl, while along the three other aforementioned external wings will be made, during the molding phase, holes or cylindrical and vertical sheets for anchoring by means of screws or by force the lateral closing elements of the drawer.

On the two side walls of the bowl, the one on the right and the one on the left, the support and sliding slides are produced molded in one piece with the bowl itself; the aforementioned slides being intended, as usual, to couple, by interposing bearings rotating madly, to their respective fixed counter-slides which are applied internally to the walls of the cabinet which contains the drawer.

In an alternative version of the drawer according to the invention, the aforesaid support and sliding slides could be simply applied successively to the outside of the side walls of the drawer; in this case the left and right walls of the bowl have a series of wide vertical ribs, some equipped with pins which project horizontally, others equipped with circular holes with a horizontal axis; the above plugs must be used as centering plugs in order to be able to quickly and exactly place the sliding slide of the drawer, as well as the other elements of the slide itself, while the fixing screws of the slide will be screwed into the holes mentioned above.

It is therefore even more obvious now how the constructive design of the drawer according to the invention is innovative and revolutionary compared to previous techniques as long as it uses the bowl having a plastic carrying base which incorporates the slides and on which bowl one can fix all the other components of the drawer.

Referring to the above figures, the drawer according to the invention is produced from a bottom-carrying bowl (1), molded in a single piece of plastic material.

This bowl, whose plane is quadrangular, has a perfectly vertical front wall (2), while the other three walls are slightly inclined towards the center.

More specifically, the side walls (3) opposite to the rear (4) are finished superiorly by a horizontal external wing, the three wings forming a perimeter stirrup (5).

Along the above-mentioned stirrup (5), a series of vertical cards (6) like those illustrated in the appended drawings, as well as holes, can be produced, depending on the type of arrangement of the drawer; it is obviously that the stirrup (5) must be equipped with vertical plugs (6) each time the side walls closing the drawer result equipped with holes along the lower edge and in which the above said plugs (6) are threaded; the bracket (5) will on the contrary be fitted with holes when the fixing of the lateral structure for closing the drawer is effected by means of screws.

In the preferred embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1, the bottom bowl (1) leaves the molding phase already equipped with the two lateral support and sliding slides (1a) produced in the same material and during the same phase of manufacturing the bowl (1).

If, on the contrary, provision is made for the use of conventional slides applied successively, during the molding phase, the walls (3) of the bowl (1) are produced, pairs of niches (3a) as well as vertical ribs (3b) which, in addition to functioning as stiffeners, are used above all to provide the slide "G" with support and anchoring zones having a perfectly vertical surface.

More precisely, the niches (3a) house a peg which projects (3c) and which is used as a plug centering for the precise and rapid placement of the slide "G" as well as for a secure support of the slide itself, the latter being fixed stably by means of screws introduced into the holes (3d) of the ribs (3b).

The front wall of the bowl (1), on the contrary, has holes (7) in correspondence of which introduce the fixing screws of the front closure panel of the drawer.

The above front wall is also equipped with one or more reference pins (8) for precise and rapid centering of the front closure panel of the drawer.

The bowl (1) has in its lower part a network of stiffening ribs (9).
