Abstract
Description
la présente invention concerne un dispositif d'assemblage de deux parties consécutives d'un instrument de musique à vent, notamment en bois.the present invention relates to a device for assembling two consecutive parts of a wind musical instrument, in particular made of wood.
Traditionally, such an assembly is carried out by means of a tenon of one of the parts, capable of engaging in a socket of the other part, said tenon being covered with a thin sheet of cork, ensuring a soft and waterproof interlocking.
The application of the cork sheet to the post has a number of drawbacks. Indeed, this application is carried out by gluing a thin strip of cork of determined length and width around the post. Then this sheet is held securely during the setting of the glue using a multi-turn ligature requiring for its installation skill and care, hence a skilled and therefore expensive workforce.
In addition, it is noted during intensive use of the instrument, that the cork wears relatively quickly, which tends to cause play in the assembly. The instrument then becomes less easy to handle and its musical characteristics are modified. It can also result in a twisting of the keys, which become more difficult to actuate and can go so far as to get stuck.
However, there is a major drawback which results from the height of the tenons, a height on which one cannot intervene without at the same time reducing the bearing surface of the cork and thereby adversely affecting its good behavior on said tenon.
It is also for this same reason that the position of the orifice of the first key, immediately after the junction of the two parts of the instrument, must be located at a minimum distance at least equal to the height of the aforementioned stud.
Pratiquement cette hauteur, par exemple dans le cas d'une clarinette, est d'environ 18 mm.Practically this height, for example in the case of a clarinet, is approximately 18 mm.
In all cases of wind instruments, but more particularly in the woods, it has often been sought to intervene on the position of this orifice so that it is located at the acoustically best place, known as the vibration node.
To do this, it is known to make these so-called tone orifices by drilling by hand and to cut them delicately to improve the response and the accuracy of the intonation. It is easy to see that the wind instruments, but more particularly the woods, are very difficult to make and that we have felt the need and tried to perfect them in order to facilitate fingering.
As far as the oboe is concerned, successive modifications mean that he is less afraid than before of tones loaded with sharps and flats but nevertheless the sound of an oboe will not come out as easily as that of a flute, and certain features in the bass, between B flat and D, offer considerable difficulties. The oboe is more comfortable from the middle, but note that even when playing double piano the oboe keeps a timbre which pierces more than that of other woods and, in some cases, you will never get a double oboe piano comparable to that of a flute or clarinet.
Regarding the various sounds of the oboe, it should be noted that although the homogeneity of its timbre is remarkable, the sound changes in the treble which is of a precision and a magnitude difficult to obtain, unlike the bass.
Regarding the clarinet, this one, compared to the oboe, is extremely agile and can give in most nuances, from double piano to double forte.
Regarding the clarinet in B flat, to speak only of this one more generally used, above the E are some notes which sound duller and duller than the others and which are sometimes called the thankless register of the instrument.
The clarinet has great musical qualities but at the cost of a complicated system of holes and keys capable of providing, in its fundamental sound, the entire chromatic range.
The present invention aims to remedy the various aforementioned drawbacks, allowing greater latitude in the choice of the positioning of certain key holes, playing a decisive role in the accuracy and sound of the instrument.
To this end, the invention relates to a device for assembling two consecutive parts of a wind musical instrument, in particular made of wood, interposed at their respective ends between a tenon of one and a socket of the other, characterized in that it comprises at least a first locking lug formed radially on the external periphery of the lug of a part and capable of cooperating with at least one second complementary lug formed radially on the internal periphery of the socket of the other part, the first lug anchoring behind the second after an axial movement of introduction of the post in the socket, which follows a rotary movement of one of the parts of the instrument relative to the other to perform a bayonet type assembly.
In this way, it is easily understood that the heights of the tenon, and consequently of the socket, can be very greatly reduced since they are no longer dependent on the mechanical characteristics of the cork, which is therefore purely and simply eliminated.
Thus, for example in clarinets, it turned out that due to the resistance and the precision of the parts involved, in this case, tenon-socket, the height of the junction could be reduced from approximately 18 mm to 10 mm, thus offering an additional 8 mm latitude in the ideal arrangement to search for, of certain orifices of the instrument.
In addition to this major advantage, it should also be noted that one of the secondary consequences of this reduction in height is the gain in material obtained. Indeed, the bodies of these instruments are made from rigorously selected woods such as African ebony (Dalbergia, Melanoxylon) or grenadilla or even rosewood. All these woods are chosen according to their acoustic and aesthetic properties and are therefore very expensive. Such material gain will therefore necessarily have a positive impact on the cost price of the instrument.

As an illustrative example, the clarinet shown in the figures consists in a known manner of a body 1 comprising a
The instrument ends at its lower part with a
It ends at its upper part with a
As an illustrative example, the assembly device, object of the present invention, finds a particularly advantageous application in the connection to be made between the
There is shown schematically in Comparative Figures 7 and 8 the upper parts of the instrument assembled respectively using the device according to the invention and in a conventional manner.
For reasons of clarity, the letter A has been added to the references intended to designate the equivalent parts of the conventional instrument to be assembled.
The object of the invention is precisely to bring the
Pratiquement et grâce aux moyens de l'invention qui vont être décrits ci-après, la hauteur "L" dont la valeur est classiquement de 18 mm peut être aisément réduite à 10 mm, d'où un gain, non négligeable en matière, de 8 mm.Practically and thanks to the means of the invention which will be described below, the height "L", the value of which is conventionally 18 mm, can easily be reduced to 10 mm, resulting in a significant gain in material, 8 mm.
According to an example of practical embodiment, the clarinet is assembled by three adapted devices high 17,
Each assembly is carried out by by means of two metal sockets, preferably made of stainless steel, one of which 20 is attached and secured in the
The positioning of the
According to a characteristic of the invention the bearing faces, for example lugs 31, 32, 33 of the
According to another characteristic of the invention, one of the locking lugs, for example, of a
According to another characteristic of the invention, the
Of course, and this without departing from the scope of the present invention, the
