Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for operating a refrigeration system, in which a refrigerant is conveyed through an refrigerant circuit by means of an oil-lubricated compressor, oil coming from the compressor into the refrigerant circuit, and in which an additive which is insoluble in it but is soluble in the oil is added to the refrigerant .
In refrigeration systems that work with an oil-lubricated compressor, there is also oil in the refrigerant circuit that has left the compressor as a fine mist and is carried along by the escaping refrigerant gas. In the previously used chlorine-containing refrigerants, the oil was usually able to dissolve well, so that it could be returned to the compressor with the refrigerant.
Es handelt sich dabei beispielsweise um chlorfreie Kältemittel wie NH₃, R 134a, R 125 und R 152a.Due to the environmentally damaging effects of chlorine-containing refrigerants - think of the ozone problem and the greenhouse effect - alternative refrigerants have been sought in recent years, which are increasingly to replace the previous refrigerants. These are, for example, chlorine-free refrigerants such as NH₃, R 134a, R 125 and R 152a.
Since these new chlorine-free refrigerants do not dissolve in the known oils, problems arise when the oil is returned to the compressor. Due to the high viscosity of the oil at low evaporation temperatures of the refrigerant, the oil can no longer be propelled by the refrigerant gas in the refrigerant circuit and thus returned to the compressor.
Synthetic oils such as polyol esters and polyalkylene glycols have therefore been developed that dissolve to a limited extent in the chlorine-free refrigerants. However, these new oils have considerable disadvantages. They work e.g. aggressive to certain materials within the refrigerant circuit, for example electrical insulation and sealing materials, and have strong hygroscopic properties. In addition, they tend to copper plating and have insufficient thermal stability.
In the process known from DE-OS 32 45 475, the addition of butane ensures that the oil which is insoluble in the refrigerant ammonia can be returned to the compressor. For this purpose, a liquid separator on the low pressure side of the refrigeration system and an oil recirculator are provided. An oil-butane solution collects in the lower part of the liquid separator, which is conveyed into the intake line of the compressor using the oil recirculator.
According to DE-AS 10 73 509, the addition of oil-dissolving additives is intended to prevent the lubricating oil from stagnating or the removal of paraffin in parts of the refrigeration system. To For this purpose, solvents are introduced into the refrigeration cycle at various points in the refrigeration system. The diluted oil then settles at various oil collection points and can be removed from the extraction points. The solvent is added abundantly so that a certain part gets into the evaporator to dissolve the sticked paraffin hanging on the walls.
In both known methods, the aim is to dilute the lubricating oil by adding a solvent and to guide the diluted lubricating oil in the refrigerant circuit via the compressor or to discharge it from the circuit. In both processes, lubricating oil and solvent are passed through the evaporator, which affects the economic efficiency and operational safety of the refrigeration system.
The present invention has for its object to design a method of the type mentioned so that even when using oil-insoluble refrigerant, a large return of the oil to the compressor is achieved in an economical manner, without adversely affecting the economy and reliability of the refrigeration system.
- a) the refrigerant and the oil auxiliary solution on the high-pressure side of the refrigeration system are separated from one another by letting the lighter phase float on the heavier phase in a collecting bottle,
- b) then the refrigerant is returned to the compressor via an expansion valve and a refrigerant evaporator, while the oil-auxiliary solution is fed to an oil expeller in which the oil is separated from the gaseous auxiliary, and
- c) the separated oil is then returned to the compressor, while the gaseous auxiliary is returned to the collecting bottle.
The invention is particularly intended for use with chlorine-free refrigerants or other refrigerants that are not soluble with conventional oils. However, since these refrigerants are soluble in the auxiliary, extensive de-oiling of the refrigerant is possible. There is a constant washing out of the oil within the refrigerant circuit. A short chain hydrocarbon, e.g. Butane, propane or pentane. Conventional refrigeration oils of mineral origin and synthetic oils based on hydrocarbons are soluble in these hydrocarbons in all proportions. The addition of small amounts of auxiliary substance is sufficient to achieve a constant washing out of the oil within the refrigerant circuit.
The oil can be easily recovered with an oil ejector, as described in DE-PS 22 52 583, and can be returned to any point in the refrigerant circuit, in particular to the engine of the compressor. The two phases, namely the essentially oil-free refrigerant on the one hand and the oil-auxiliary solution on the other hand, are separated by means of a floating process (similar to gasoline separator DIN 1999). For this purpose, a collection bottle is used, which in the Refrigerant circuit is switched on. The oil-auxiliary solution usually has a lower specific weight than the refrigerant, so that an oil-auxiliary phase floating on top and a pure refrigerant phase underneath arise in the collecting bottle. The oil auxiliary phase is drawn off at the top and supplied to an oil ejector as described in DE-PS 22 52 583. In the oil ejector, the oil is expelled from the oil-auxiliary solution and then returned to the compressor.
The phases are separated on the high pressure side of the refrigeration system. In this way, a migration of oil to the evaporator side of the refrigeration system is largely avoided, so that the evaporator can be operated with practically pure refrigerant.
In contrast to the known methods, the method according to the application is not simply a dilution of the lubricating oil, but rather a washing-out process in which the oil on the high-pressure side of the refrigeration system is constantly washed out of the refrigerant and returned to the compressor. The auxiliary agent acting as a detergent remains on the high-pressure side of the refrigeration system. The two phases of refrigerant and oil auxiliary solution are separated from each other in the collecting bottle by floating, i.e. the specifically lighter phase floats on top of the specifically heavier phase. When using other refrigerant / auxiliary combinations, it can of course be the other way round, but this does not change the principle of the method according to the application.
The oil auxiliary solution is expediently fed to the oil expeller via a connecting line and a check valve. In the oil ejector, it is used as a detergent serving auxiliary evaporates and is returned as gas via the connecting line to the collecting bottle. The auxiliary substance constantly moves back and forth on the high-pressure side between the condenser and the oil expeller, washing the oil out of the refrigerant. The washed-out oil is separated from the auxiliary in the oil expeller and returned to the compressor.
So there is neither oil nor auxiliary material on the low pressure side and over the evaporator, so that the evaporator is operated with pure refrigerant, which has a favorable effect on the economy and operational safety of the refrigeration system. This represents a considerable advantage over the known methods in which oil and auxiliary material are always passed through the evaporator.
Although a slightly higher operating pressure of the refrigeration system must be expected (Dalton's law applies
this hardly has an adverse effect on the power requirement of the refrigerant compressor, because the vapor pressure curves of the refrigerant and the auxiliary are almost parallel in a simple logarithmic representation and the pressure ratio determining the power requirement between the condensing and evaporation pressure P c : P o remains the same. It can be assumed that when the refrigerant saturated with the auxiliary agent cools down inside the evaporator - after the expansion of the refrigerant - there is always oversaturation and Dalton's law applies to both liquefaction and evaporation.
