Claims (12)
- A crane, more particularly for handling, mainly consisting of: a jib (1) pivotally mounted by way of plates (6), the same being rigidly secured to the bottom end of the jib (1), to a projection on the top part of a rotatable device (3) in the form of a sleeve and a spindle (7) on a jib post (2) disposed on a vehicle chassis or fixed chassis, the jib having at its unmounted end a hook or grapple or other tool; of a rotary actuator therefor, the rotatable device (3) being rigidly secured to a member (4) which extends through the jib post (2) and is rotated by way of a rotatable actuator (5) co-operating with the bottom part of the member (4), the jib (1) being operated for hoisting by at least one reciprocating actuator (8) connected to the jib (1) and to the rotatable device (3), characterised in that the rotatable device (3) has an outer diameter greater than that of the jib post (2) and is guided on the longitudinal surface and transverse surface of the jib post (2) by guide elements (17, 18, 19), the projection of the rotatable device (3) being formed with a pair of apertures disposed substantially at the same level, one such aperture being adapted to receive the spindle (7) of the jib articulation while the other aperture serves for the securing of the bottom part of the reciprocating actuator (8).
- A crane according to claim 1, characterised in that the jib-operating reciprocating actuator (8) is pivotally mounted by way of its fork on the projection of the top part of the rotatable device (3), extends into the jib (1) and is so pivotally connected thereto as to produce a substantially constant lever arm.
- A crane according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the jib (1) is operated by means of two reciprocating actuators, viz. a push actuator (8) and a pull actuator (9), the latter being connected by way of its rod to a rear prolongation of the jib (1) and being pivotally mounted by way of its fork on the rotatable device (3).
- A crane according to claim 3, characterised in that the rods of the actuators (8, 9) are pivotally mounted in a slider (10) disposed in that jib (1) and lockable by an automatic bolt (11) in its operative position and inoperative position.
- A crane according to claim 2, characterised in that the rear end of the jib (1) is operated by a push reciprocating actuator (12) connected by way of its piston rod to a fork (13) of the rotatable device (3) and by way of its fork and of a spindle (14) to the end of a fork (15) or of a pair of rods connected by way of its other end to the said rear end of the jib (1), the pivot pin connecting the fork or rods to the actuator (12) co-operating with vertical guides (16) rigidly secured to the device (3).
- A crane according to any of claims 2 and 5, characterised in that the jib (1) is operated by means of two push reciprocating actuators, the rear actuator (12) bearing by way of its piston rod on the fork (13) and sliding along the device, pulling as it does so on the fork or rods (15).
- A crane according to claim 1, characterised in that the rotating device (3) is in the form of a sleeve disposed on the end of the jib post (2), is guided thereon by means of plain or ball or roller or needle bearings (17) and bears on the jib post (2) by way of a needle or roller type abutment (18), the sleeve having in its top part the or each articulation fork of the jib (1) and of the reciprocating actuator for operating the same.
- A crane according to claim 1, characterised in that the rotatable device (3) takes the form of a sleeve disposed in the jib post (2) and guided by means of bearings (19) and having in its top part a bearing plate (20) co-operating with an abutment (21) disposed at the end of the jib post (2), the plate (2) carrying the or each articulation fork of the jib (1) and of its operating actuator and having a vertical return (22) for receiving a pull actuator, the return (22) bearing on the jib post by way of a roller (23) or the like stayed by gusset plates which bear on the plate (20).
- A crane according to claim 1, characterised in that the rotatable actuator (5) of the jib (1) consists with advantage of a toothed ring for a chain or of a grooved ring for a cable (24), such ring being secured to the bottom end of the member (4) which extends through the jib post (2) and being rigidly secured to the device (3) and co-operating with a chain or cable (25) whose two ends are rigidly secured to a wall of a box or chest or the like for receiving the actuator (5), the chain or cable (25) also being guided on two chain pinions or grooved pulleys (27) rotatably mounted at the end of the piston rods of two reciprocating actuators (28) which are parallel to or in opposition, the pivot pins connecting the pinions (27) to the piston rods being guided in corresponding parallel grooves in the box or chest or the like (26).
- A crane according to claim 1, characterised in that the rotatable actuator (5) is connected to the bottom end of the member (4) extending into the box (26) and is in the from of a crankshaft (26) whose wrist pins are disposed at regular intervals, are, with advantage, provided at leat to the number of three and are each operated by a reciprocating actuator (30), the actuators ( 30) being triggered by means of a programmable automatic system or of a multivalve distributor.
- A crane according to any of claims 1, 9 and 10, characterised in that the member (4) connecting the device (3) to the actuator (5) is advantageously embodied as a hollow tube opening into the top end of the device(3)or into an open chamber at the top end of the device (3) and co-operating in its bottom part with a centrally recessed ring (24).
- A crane according to claim 1, characterised in that the jib post (2) is secured by way of its bottom part to the box (26), the same having in its bottom part a peripheral edging (31) formed with apertures (32) for the passage of flanges or clamping pins on the chassis of the carrying vehicle.
