Definitions
- the invention relates to a tobacco product for the self-manufacture of a cigarette, in particular filter cigarette, according to the preamble of claim 1, and a method for the self-manufacture of cigarettes using the aforementioned tobacco product.
- Such a tobacco product is e.g. B. known from DE-C-34 07 461 or EP-B-155 514.
- a very similar proposal was finally made in EP-A-123 150.
- the present invention is based on the object of creating an alternative to the aforementioned tobacco product, which is also characterized on the one hand by the simplest handling and on the other hand in that the cigarette produced with it is equivalent to a factory-made cigarette.
- the alternative according to the invention is also intended to achieve the tax advantage for fine cuts in countries in which the known tobacco product is taxed in a manner similar to a factory-made cigarette.
- the tobacco product according to the invention is thus characterized in that the tobacco portion is arranged as a prefabricated product within an outer strand casing made of non-smokable, in particular also poorly combustible material, which is open on the end face in such a way that it can be transferred from the strand casing into a cigarette paper sleeve.
- the cigarette paper tube can either be prefabricated or made by wrapping a cigarette paper sheet around the tobacco portion by the user.
- the strand casing provided according to the invention represents the simplest form of a tamping device, the special feature compared to conventional tamping devices being that the tobacco portion arranged inside the casing is dimensionally stable in length and cross section and should also remain largely dimensionally stable after being transferred into the cigarette paper sleeve. Accordingly, the tobacco portion can easily be transferred from the strand casing into the cigarette paper casing, either by blowing it out of the casing and into the cigarette paper casing or by means of a simple transfer rod in the form of a pencil or the like.
- the casing is dimensioned somewhat shorter than the tobacco portion, or if the tobacco portion is positioned within the outer casing so that a short piece of the tobacco portion protrudes from one end of the casing, the tobacco portion is transferred from the casing to the cigarette paper sleeve in that the above Section of the tobacco portion is placed within the cigarette paper tube and clamped between two fingers, in order to then pull the strand casing off the tobacco portion and to insert the tobacco portion completely into the cigarette paper tube, in particular a prefabricated cigarette paper tube.
- the outer strand casing preferably consists of poorly flammable paper, in particular paper laminated with aluminum, as is provided, for example, for the strand casing of the tobacco product according to DE-U-83 09 186 or DE-U-83 26 921.
- the tobacco product according to the invention is characterized in that the tobacco portion can be easily transferred from the strand casing into the cigarette paper casing.
- the tobacco filling expands when it is transferred from the strand casing into the cigarette paper sleeve, with the result that, on the one hand, a relatively large force is required to transfer the tobacco filling and that the quality of the cigarette produced depends considerably on the consistency, especially moisture, which depends on tobacco filling within the strand casing. Furthermore, a piston adapted to the inside diameter of the strand casing is required for transferring the tobacco filling from the strand casing into the cigarette paper sleeve, since otherwise there is a risk that the tobacco filling will already expand within the strand casing when the transfer pressure is exerted and clamped accordingly.
- the tobacco portion should remain largely dimensionally stable.
- the tobacco portion be arranged inside the outer casing with slight radial compression, such that after transferring it into the cigarette paper casing inside it, with a corresponding slight radial expansion, it lies tightly against its inner surface.
- the radial compression of the tobacco portion corresponds to approximately twice the wall thickness of the outer casing. It is preferably even slightly less than twice the wall thickness and is only about 50-80% of twice the wall thickness of the strand casing.
- the covering preferably has a weight of less than 10 grams, in particular approximately 8 to 12 g / m 2. It consists either of porous cigarette paper or cellulose fleece provided with pores, slits or the like over the entire length. Both materials can be consumed by smoking. Because of the minimal Dimensioning the cigarette paper with regard to strength and in particular thickness also gives the smoker the feeling that he practically does not have to smoke any additional paper or the like.
- the wrapping of the tobacco portion can, of course, also be formed by a tobacco foil or even foil tobacco, whereby an air permeability of the wrapping must always be guaranteed over the entire length of the tobacco portion, which does not allow the tobacco portion as such to be smoked.
- At least the outer strand casing preferably has a minimal coefficient of friction on the inside through appropriate surface treatment or coating, so that the tobacco portion can be easily transferred from the strand casing into the cigarette paper sleeve, in particular e.g. through bubbles.
- the outer diameter of the outer casing should be approximately equal to the outer diameter of the cigarette paper sleeve, so that the strand casing can be attached to the end for the purpose of transferring the tobacco portion into a prefabricated cigarette paper sleeve.
- a particularly good fit of the transferred tobacco portion within the cigarette paper tube is ensured due to the then possible minimal difference in diameter between the tobacco portion and the cigarette paper tube.
- the simple transfer of the tobacco portion into the cigarette paper tube is not endangered.
- the tobacco portion is preferably positioned within the outer casing so that it protrudes slightly at one end of the casing.
- the outer casing can either be made together with the wrapping of the tobacco portion. This method is particularly suitable when the outer strand casing has the same length as the tobacco portion and the tobacco portion is flush with the outer strand casing at the end.
- the outer surface of the tobacco portion is formed by a covering made of smokable or consumable material with the air permeability required for non-smoking.
- the tobacco portion can be held together by smokable or smokable binders. Both alternatives are claimed as essential to the invention in connection with the outer strand casing according to claim 1.
- the reference numeral 11 denotes a prefabricated filter cigarette paper tube, into which a tobacco product 12, consisting of a dimensionally stable and in cross-section and length to the tobacco receiving space 13 of the cigarette paper tube 11 adapted tobacco portion 14 and a surrounding casing 15 is inserted from non-smokable, in particular non-combustible material.
- the strand casing 15 has no perforations, so that the tobacco portion 14 can be blown into the tobacco receiving space 13 of the cigarette paper sleeve 11 (see arrow 16). In this case, no aid is required for transferring the tobacco portion 14 into the tobacco receiving space 13 of the cigarette paper tube.
- the strand casing 15 is dimensioned somewhat longer than the tobacco portion 14, in such a way that it can be blown over the tobacco portion 14 at the free end, ie in FIG. 1 right end protrudes. A kind of blow mouthpiece is produced in this way.
- the inner surface of the casing 15 is treated in such a way that the coefficient of friction is reduced so that the tobacco portion 14 can be easily blown out of the casing 15 into the cigarette paper sleeve 11.
- the transfer of the tobacco portion 14 can also be carried out by a rod-shaped object, the diameter of this rod also being noticeably smaller than the inside diameter of the strand casing 15. The reason for this is that the transfer of the tobacco portion 14 from the strand casing 15 into the tobacco receiving space 13 of the cigarette paper tube 11 is almost without resistance.
- the embodiment according to FIG. 2 is characterized in that the tobacco portion 14 protrudes slightly from one end of the strand casing 15 so that the protruding section of the tobacco portion 14 can be clamped between two fingers within the tobacco receiving space 13. Then the strand casing 15 can be pulled out of the cigarette paper sleeve 11 in the direction of the arrows 17.
- the tobacco portion 14 is held within the cigarette paper tube 11.
- the tobacco portion 14 can also be arranged within the outer casing 15 with slight radial compression, in such a way that it changes after removal the strand casing 15 within the cigarette paper sleeve 11 slightly radially expands again with a correspondingly tight contact with the inner surface of the cigarette paper sleeve.
- this embodiment is also suitable for a portion of tobacco which is held together by smokable or consumable binders.
- a wrapping made of smokable or consumable material such as cigarette paper, cellulose fleece, tobacco foil or the like, the air permeability of the wrapper being such that the tobacco portion as such, ie is not smokable outside the cigarette paper tube.
- the outer surface of the wrapping of the tobacco portion is somewhat fur-like, which additionally reduces the friction between the strand casing and the tobacco portion, so that the transfer from the strand casing into the tobacco receiving space of the cigarette paper sleeve is additionally facilitated.
- the tobacco portion with wrapping consists of porous or over the entire length with pores, slits or the like provided cigarette paper or cellulose fleece or the like, which has a thickness or thickness which is just sufficient to the to hold compressed tobacco filling together in a conventional manner. Accordingly, the consumer should now smoke minimal additional paper or the like.
- the cigarette paper sleeve can also be made from cigarette paper that is thinner than the prior art, so that the smoker does not smoke more cigarette paper than with conventional cigarettes, be it manufactured by the manufacturer or manufactured by himself.
- the covering preferably has a weight of less than 10 g, in particular only about 8-12 g / m 2. If the strength of the covering allows it, the weight can also be less than 8 g / m2.
- a filter piece of approximately the same cross section can also be used. This embodiment is of particular interest when the tobacco product is to be wrapped with a conventional rolling paper. Then a filter cigarette can also be produced using a rolling paper.
- the tobacco portion within the outer strand casing 15 is preferably compressed in such a way that the tobacco portion is caused by the radial expansion outside the outer strand casing 15 14 assumes a diameter which corresponds approximately to the outer diameter of the outer strand casing 15 or the inner diameter of the cigarette paper sleeve 11 or only slightly, ie 1/20 - 3/10 mm smaller than this.
- the outer diameter of the extrudate tube 15 is slightly, in particular approximately 1/20 - 2/10 mm smaller than the inner diameter of the cigarette paper tube 11, the outer diameter of the tobacco portion 14 being up to approximately Can be 3/10 mm smaller than the inside diameter of the cigarette paper tube. Then a perfect smoking of the tobacco portion within the cigarette paper tube 11 is still possible; at the same time, however, it is ensured that the tobacco portion 14 does not accidentally fall out of the cigarette paper tube 11.
- the outer diameter of the outer strand casing 15 is approximately equal to the outer diameter of the cigarette paper sleeve 11, so that the strand casing 15 can be attached to the end in accordance with FIG. 3 for the purpose of transferring the tobacco portion 14 into a prefabricated cigarette paper sleeve.
- the strand casing 15 is dimensioned somewhat shorter than the tobacco portion 14, so that the latter protrudes from the strand casing 15 on one end face. The protruding portion of the tobacco portion 14 is inserted into the tobacco receiving space 13 for the purpose of transfer into the tobacco receiving space 13 according to FIG. 3 and then clamped between two fingers.
- the casing 15 can be pulled off the tobacco portion 14 very easily. Subsequently, the cigarette paper tube 11 is held in the area of the filter piece 18 with one hand, while the tobacco portion 14 is completely pushed into the tobacco receiving space 13 of the cigarette paper tube 11 with the other hand.
- This embodiment is also suitable for a tobacco portion 14 which is arranged within the strand casing 15 with slight compression.
- the strand casing 15 is preferably subsequently wrapped around the tobacco portion 14, for example in accordance with the filter covering paper in a manufactured cigarette or a manufactured filter cigarette paper sleeve.
- the embodiment according to FIG. 4 differs from that according to FIG. 3 in that the tobacco portion 14 is transferred from the strand casing 15 into the tobacco receiving space 13 of the prefabricated cigarette paper sleeve 11 by means of a rod-shaped object 19 in the direction of the arrow 20.
- the strand casing 15 has approximately the same length as the tobacco portion 14, the tobacco portion 14 being flush with the two end faces of the strand casing 15 before being transferred to the tobacco receiving space 13 of the cigarette paper sleeve 11.
- the tobacco portion 14 is then initially pushed somewhat out of the strand casing 15 by means of the rod 19. Then the protruding portion of the tobacco portion 14 is inserted into the front end of the cigarette paper tube 11.
- the tobacco portion 14 can then be transferred in accordance with that shown in FIG. 3. However, it is also possible to continue transferring the tobacco portion 14 by means of the rod 19.
- the rod 19 need not have a diameter which corresponds approximately to the inside diameter of the strand casing 15. It can be considerably smaller, since the tobacco portion 14 is on the one hand dimensionally stable and, on the other hand, relatively easy to get out of the strand casing 15 can slide out.
- the strand casing 15 is dimensioned longer than the tobacco portion 14, the tobacco portion 14 being placed within the outer strand casing 15 in such a way that an end face of the tobacco portion 14 with an end face of the right-hand end in FIG. 5a Strand casing 15 is flush.
- the strand casing 15 has approximately the same length as the tobacco portion 14. Only the tobacco portion 14 is arranged within the strand casing 15 in such a way that it projects over the strand casing 15 at one end.
- the strand casing 15 is dimensioned shorter than the tobacco portion 14. Furthermore, the tobacco portion 14 is placed within the strand casing 15 in such a way that it protrudes from the end casing 15 at both ends thereof.
- the length of the strand casing 15 is equal to the length of the tobacco portion 14, the tobacco portion 14 being located entirely within the strand casing 15.
- the tobacco product 12 manufacture in one operation on a modified cigarette manufacturing machine.
- the outer strand casing 15 also has the advantage of an additional moisture conservation of the tobacco. Furthermore, it represents an additional mechanical protection for the tobacco portion 14. Otherwise, it is the simplest form of a cigarette filling device.
- FIG. 6 an alternative according to FIG. 6 is pointed out.
- This is characterized by a factory-made cigarette, in particular filter cigarette 21, the cigarette paper sleeve of which is provided with a perforation line extending over the entire length of the tobacco receiving space in such a way that the cigarette is non-smoking.
- the cigarette only becomes smokable when the perforation line 22 is covered by a rubberized cigarette paper strip 23. This must therefore be glued over the perforation line 22 before smoking the cigarette 21.
- the above-mentioned system therefore includes a longitudinally perforated cigarette 21 and an associated cigarette paper strip 23. Due to the fact that the cigarette designed in this way is not smokable, it must be classified as a fine cut under tax law. This fine cut, packaged in portions, only becomes a cigarette after the paper strip 23 has been glued over the perforation line 22.
- the product manufactured in this way cannot be distinguished from a factory-made cigarette.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a tobacco product for the self-manufacture of a cigarette, in particular filter cigarette, according to the preamble of claim 1, and a method for the self-manufacture of cigarettes using the aforementioned tobacco product.
Such a tobacco product is e.g. B. known from DE-C-34 07 461 or EP-B-155 514. A very similar proposal was finally made in EP-A-123 150.
The well-known tobacco product immediately established itself on the market and is successfully sold in the Federal Republic of Germany under the WESTPOINT brand. This tobacco product has also received a similar response abroad.
The present invention is based on the object of creating an alternative to the aforementioned tobacco product, which is also characterized on the one hand by the simplest handling and on the other hand in that the cigarette produced with it is equivalent to a factory-made cigarette. In particular, the alternative according to the invention is also intended to achieve the tax advantage for fine cuts in countries in which the known tobacco product is taxed in a manner similar to a factory-made cigarette.
The aforementioned object is achieved according to the invention by the characterizing measures of claim 1, the subclaims relating to advantageous details of the basic principle defined in claim 1.
Furthermore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a process for the self-production of cigarettes using the tobacco product according to the invention, two alternatives to this being specified in
The tobacco product according to the invention is thus characterized in that the tobacco portion is arranged as a prefabricated product within an outer strand casing made of non-smokable, in particular also poorly combustible material, which is open on the end face in such a way that it can be transferred from the strand casing into a cigarette paper sleeve. According to
The strand casing provided according to the invention represents the simplest form of a tamping device, the special feature compared to conventional tamping devices being that the tobacco portion arranged inside the casing is dimensionally stable in length and cross section and should also remain largely dimensionally stable after being transferred into the cigarette paper sleeve. Accordingly, the tobacco portion can easily be transferred from the strand casing into the cigarette paper casing, either by blowing it out of the casing and into the cigarette paper casing or by means of a simple transfer rod in the form of a pencil or the like. Unless the outer The casing is dimensioned somewhat shorter than the tobacco portion, or if the tobacco portion is positioned within the outer casing so that a short piece of the tobacco portion protrudes from one end of the casing, the tobacco portion is transferred from the casing to the cigarette paper sleeve in that the above Section of the tobacco portion is placed within the cigarette paper tube and clamped between two fingers, in order to then pull the strand casing off the tobacco portion and to insert the tobacco portion completely into the cigarette paper tube, in particular a prefabricated cigarette paper tube.
The outer strand casing preferably consists of poorly flammable paper, in particular paper laminated with aluminum, as is provided, for example, for the strand casing of the tobacco product according to DE-U-83 09 186 or DE-U-83 26 921. Compared to the systems proposed there, the tobacco product according to the invention is characterized in that the tobacco portion can be easily transferred from the strand casing into the cigarette paper casing. In the last-mentioned state of the art, the tobacco filling expands when it is transferred from the strand casing into the cigarette paper sleeve, with the result that, on the one hand, a relatively large force is required to transfer the tobacco filling and that the quality of the cigarette produced depends considerably on the consistency, especially moisture, which depends on tobacco filling within the strand casing. For this reason, a separate transfer device according to DE-U-83 26 921 was also considered necessary. The known system is therefore only offered in connection with this transfer device. However, even using such a transfer device, the aforementioned problems remain. This is because the tobacco filling within the strand casing is storage, weather or climate-related become too dry, the tobacco cannot be compressed in a predetermined manner when it is transferred from the strand casing into the prefabricated cigarette paper sleeve by means of the ejection slide, with the result that a so-called tobacco beard protrudes from the cigarette paper sleeve. On the other hand, if the tobacco supply is too moist, it is compressed too strongly by the ejection slide when it is transferred from the strand casing into the cigarette paper casing. The front end portion of the cigarette paper sleeve is then without tobacco. The goal of obtaining a cigarette corresponding to the industrially manufactured cigarette by in-house production has not been achieved. In practice it often turns out that the filling immediately in front of the filter piece is extremely defective, even if the transferred tobacco is of the right consistency. All of these problems no longer occur in the system according to the invention.
As stated above, the tobacco portion should remain largely dimensionally stable. According to a modified embodiment according to FIG. 8, it is proposed that the tobacco portion be arranged inside the outer casing with slight radial compression, such that after transferring it into the cigarette paper casing inside it, with a corresponding slight radial expansion, it lies tightly against its inner surface. Accordingly, the radial compression of the tobacco portion corresponds to approximately twice the wall thickness of the outer casing. It is preferably even slightly less than twice the wall thickness and is only about 50-80% of twice the wall thickness of the strand casing.
Due to the outer strand casing, it is possible to produce the wrapping of the tobacco portion from extremely thin and correspondingly porous material. The wrapping should just be enough to hold the tobacco portion together. The covering preferably has a weight of less than 10 grams, in particular approximately 8 to 12 g / m 2. The wrapping of the tobacco portion can, of course, also be formed by a tobacco foil or even foil tobacco, whereby an air permeability of the wrapping must always be guaranteed over the entire length of the tobacco portion, which does not allow the tobacco portion as such to be smoked.
At least the outer strand casing preferably has a minimal coefficient of friction on the inside through appropriate surface treatment or coating, so that the tobacco portion can be easily transferred from the strand casing into the cigarette paper sleeve, in particular e.g. through bubbles.
According to
The outer casing can either be made together with the wrapping of the tobacco portion. This method is particularly suitable when the outer strand casing has the same length as the tobacco portion and the tobacco portion is flush with the outer strand casing at the end.
However, it is just as well conceivable to subsequently wrap the outer strand casing mechanically around the tobacco portion, similar to filter covering paper in factory-made cigarettes or cigarette paper tubes. According to claim 9, the outer surface of the tobacco portion is formed by a covering made of smokable or consumable material with the air permeability required for non-smoking. Alternatively, according to claim 10, the tobacco portion can be held together by smokable or smokable binders. Both alternatives are claimed as essential to the invention in connection with the outer strand casing according to claim 1.
The methods of

In Fig. 1, the
Preferably, the inner surface of the
The embodiment according to FIG. 2 is characterized in that the
Furthermore, this embodiment is also suitable for a portion of tobacco which is held together by smokable or consumable binders. On the other hand, in the embodiment according to FIG. 1 it is expedient to define the outer surface of the tobacco portion by a wrapping made of smokable or consumable material, such as cigarette paper, cellulose fleece, tobacco foil or the like, the air permeability of the wrapper being such that the tobacco portion as such, ie is not smokable outside the cigarette paper tube. Preferably, at least the outer surface of the wrapping of the tobacco portion is somewhat fur-like, which additionally reduces the friction between the strand casing and the tobacco portion, so that the transfer from the strand casing into the tobacco receiving space of the cigarette paper sleeve is additionally facilitated.
Basically, it should be noted that in the embodiment of the tobacco portion with wrapping, this consists of porous or over the entire length with pores, slits or the like provided cigarette paper or cellulose fleece or the like, which has a thickness or thickness which is just sufficient to the to hold compressed tobacco filling together in a conventional manner. Accordingly, the consumer should now smoke minimal additional paper or the like. Of course, the cigarette paper sleeve can also be made from cigarette paper that is thinner than the prior art, so that the smoker does not smoke more cigarette paper than with conventional cigarettes, be it manufactured by the manufacturer or manufactured by himself.
The covering preferably has a weight of less than 10 g, in particular only about 8-12 g / m 2. If the strength of the covering allows it, the weight can also be less than 8 g / m².
At the front end of the
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, in which the tobacco portion is held together either by internal binders or by an envelope of the type described above, the tobacco portion within the
In order to be able to insert the
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the outer diameter of the
The embodiment according to FIG. 4 differs from that according to FIG. 3 in that the
The above examples are shown in combination with a prefabricated cigarette paper tube. It is also possible to first wrap a small piece of cigarette paper around the
In the embodiment according to FIG. 5 b, the
In the embodiment according to FIG. 5c, the
In the embodiment according to FIG. 5d, the length of the
The
Finally, an alternative according to FIG. 6 is pointed out. This is characterized by a factory-made cigarette, in
All of the features disclosed in the application documents are claimed as essential to the invention, insofar as they are new compared to the prior art, individually or in combination.
