A continuous process for dyeing fabrics is also known from this document, the folds being fixed by a so-called pressure belt.
- a disadvantage of these two dyeing techniques is that a certain amount of fabric is always covered by the respective pressure medium. This can also not be prevented by perforating the plates of the press, possibly perforating them in the manner of patterns.

- metal complex paints are used as dyes for the dye bath. It has been shown that when using metal complex colors, shades can be achieved which, for example, are not possible when using reactive colors because the reactive colors cause the fabric to be colored. It has been found that when metal complex colors are used, the previously dyed sewing thread made of silk gives off its color to the surrounding fabric as the upper thread, thereby causing a further special patterning effect.
- the bobbin thread can still consist of the polyvinyl alcohol fiber described above.
- a fleece is deposited to fix the folds by sewing the fabric.
- This measure allows the folds to be better fixed in the predetermined position on the fabric, i.e. they do not tend to slip so quickly.
- this measure can also achieve an additional patterning effect.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing color samples on a textile fabric, in particular on a silk, cotton or wool fabric, in which the textile fabric is folded and dyed in this state in the dye bath, and the wrinkles are released again after the dyeing process . Patterns can be applied to fabrics in different ways. It is known to apply patterns by weaving or by printing. From GB-PS 14 20 316 a dyeing process of the type mentioned is known. Here, the fabric is first folded, then the folds are fixed by means of a press, whereupon the fabric is placed together with the press in a dye bath. A continuous process for dyeing fabrics is also known from this document, the folds being fixed by a so-called pressure belt. A disadvantage of these two dyeing techniques is that a certain amount of fabric is always covered by the respective pressure medium. This can also not be prevented by perforating the plates of the press, possibly perforating them in the manner of patterns.
The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a patterning method in which the patterning of the fabric is not carried out by covering the fabric.
The object is achieved in that the folds are held by sewing by means of upper and lower thread.
The pattern created by the method according to the invention is characterized by a creping effect of the textile material, which is caused in particular by the folding and seam formation, and which cannot be achieved with known patterning methods. The patterning effect achieved captivates through a multicolor, which is caused by gradations of color shades.
Here, according to a further advantageous feature of the invention, a thread is used for sewing, at least the lower thread, which consists of a polyvinyl alcohol fiber. Such a polyvinyl alcohol fiber, also known under the product name "Solvron", dissolves in water at 95 degrees Celsius. That is, to loosen the thread or threads at the end of the dyeing process, the fabric is placed in a water bath at a temperature of 95 degrees C.
According to a further advantageous feature of the invention, metal complex paints are used as dyes for the dye bath. The bobbin thread can still consist of the polyvinyl alcohol fiber described above.
According to a further special feature of the invention, a fleece is deposited to fix the folds by sewing the fabric. This measure allows the folds to be better fixed in the predetermined position on the fabric, i.e. they do not tend to slip so quickly. In addition, this measure can also achieve an additional patterning effect.
