Claims (8)
- A handle fitting for doors or windows, comprising a plate (1) which can be screwed on and a handle (2) whose neck (3) has a cylindrical projection (5) with which the handle (2) is rotatably mounted with the interposition of a plastics bush (6) in a cylindrical opening (7) in the plate (1) and axially held by a holding means which bears against a support surface (8) formed by an enlarged opening (15), wherein the holding means is formed by a quick-fixing ring (9) of sheet steel which is axially pushed on from the free end of the projection (5) and which comes into hooking engagement into the cylindrical surface of the projection (5), and wherein an axially resilient annular disc (17) is arranged between the support surface (8) and the quick-fixing ring (9), characterised in that the outside diameter of the quick-fixing ring (9) is 30 - 60%, preferably about 45%, larger than its inside diameter, and the substantially radial annular surface (10) of the quick-fixing ring (9) goes at the outer periphery into a short axially extending collar (14) by way of a rounded portion (18) and is subdivided by radial slots (13) extending from the inside periphery into at least four axially resilient claws (11) of the same size, which are inclined relative to the radial plane through 20° to 40°, preferably about 30°, towards the free end of the projection (5), and the gripping edges (12) formed by said inclination, in the unloaded condition, lie on an inside periphery whose diameter is 0.4 to 0.8 mm smaller than the diameter of the projection (5).
- A handle fitting according to claim 1 characterised in that the substantially radial annular surface (10) of the quick-fixing ring (9) is divided into six inclinedly disposed claws (11) of the same size.
- A handle fitting according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterised in that the quick-fixing ring (9) comprises sheet steel which is about 0.4 mm in thickness.
- A handle fitting according to one of claims 1 to 3 characterised in that disposed in the annular space formed by the projection (5) and the cylindrical wall of the enlarged opening (15) is a support ring (16) of metal or plastics material, which leaves free a clearance of 0.1 to 0.3 mm.
- A handle fitting according to claim 4 characterised in that the support ring (16) is pressed on to the projection (5).
- A handle fitting according to claim 4 characterised in that the support ring (16) is pressed into the cylindrical opening (15).
- A handle fitting according to one of claims 1 to 6 characterised in that arranged at the end of the projection (5) concentrally to the pivot axis of the handle (2) is an opening (19) into which is inserted a play-compensating disc (20) of plastics material, which embraces the square pin (21).
- A handle fitting according to claim 7 characterised in that the play-compensating disc (20) is integrally connected to the support ring (16) by way of legs (22) and openings (23) for receiving the legs (22) are provided on the projection (5).
