Eine derart abgestufte Rückwand, die in den Wanneninnenraum vorragt, oder die einseitig in eine Längsseitenwand oder zweiseitig und damit symmetrisch in beide Längsseitenwände übergeht, bietet den Vorteil, daß für lange Menschen ein ausreichender Platz für ein entspanntes Liegen vorhanden ist, da hier der die größte Längserstreckung des Wanneninnenraumes begrenzende Endteil der Stirnwand eine Stützfläche für die Füße bildet. Andererseits bietet der abgestufte Übergang sowohl bei einseitiger Abstufung als auch bei symmetrischer Abstufung den Vorteil, daß auch für kurze Menschen eine entsprechend verkürzte Bodenlänge zur Verfügung steht, so daß auch hier eine Stützfläche für die Füße für ein entspanntes Liegen in der Wanne gegeben ist. Bei einer nur tiefer liegenden Kante und mit einer Neigung versehenen Übergangsfläche ist ein einwandfreier Wasserablauf bei Entleerung der Wanne gewährleistet. Zweckmäßig ist es jedoch, wenn die Übergangsfläche insgesamt gegenüber dem Wannenrand vertieft angeordnet ist. Insbesondere bei nur einer Stufe bietet diese Übergangsfläche vielfältige Nutzungsmöglichkeiten. Diese Übergangsfläche kann als Sitz- und Ablagefläche benutzt werden, wobei es hier zweckmäßig ist, wenn die den Wanneninnenraum begrenzende Kante der Übergangsfläche gegenüber der Fläche selbst etwa erhöht ist und einen Halterand bildet, wobei für den Wasserablauf an wenigstens einer Stelle eine Unterbrechung des Randes vorgesehen sein muß. Durch diesen umlaufenden Rand ergibt sich zum einen eine Abstützung beim Sitzen, so daß ein Abrutschen nicht möglich ist. Ferner wird durch diesen Rand das Abrutschen von Seife oder dergl. in die Wanne verhindert. Die Übergangsfläche kann aber auch als Armaturenplateau ausgestaltet werden. Bei einer Herstellung des Wannenkörpers aus einem Kunststoff ist es möglich, die an sich als Sitzmulde gestaltete Übergangsfläche bei entsprechendem Kundenwunsch auch als Armaturenplateau zu verwenden, da hier die erforderlichen Durchgangsbohrungen nachträglich angebracht werden können. Die Stützfläche 14 ist hierbei in Wannenquerrichtung leicht gegen das Fußende geneigt, so daß die diagonale Linie 13 und die Stützfläche 14 in ihrer Projektion authogonal zueinander ausgerichtet sind. Auch hier ist der Stirnwandteil 11 so ausgebildet, daß er in etwa der Hälfte der lichten Wannenbreite entspricht, so daß hier eine ausreichende Bewegungsfreiheit für die Füße gegeben ist.
