Abstract

In a cardboard foldable box which is essentially cuboid and the flat upper side of which has a prepared surface, possibly hinged along a closed separation line, for exposing a closable removal opening in the upper side of an inner body, situated in the foldable box, for receiving in particular moist hygienic towels, the removal opening in the inner body being covered by at least one tongue-shaped tab which in outline is larger than the removal opening and adheres self-adhesively but detachably on the upper side of the inner body, it is envisaged according to the invention that the inner body is arranged loose in the foldable box and is formed by a soft tray insert which consists of a seamless tray body and, closing the latter, a lid, in which the removal opening is provided, the hinged surface being lockable, in its closed position, on the foldable box.

Description

The invention relates to a cardboard folding box according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such folding boxes are used as packaging for, among other things, wet wipes etc., and must be constructed so that they can also serve as dispensers. This means that in addition to a pleasing appearance, they must have sufficient stability, which is necessary so that the last cloth can also be easily removed from the package. Furthermore, such folding boxes must ensure adequate protection against drying out of the towels.

European patent application 89 117205.8 describes a folding box packaging of the type mentioned at the outset, which already meets the requirements mentioned quite well. This known folding box is either provided with a plastic or aluminum coating on the inside or it is made of an aluminum multilayer composite, which preferably has a layer sequence of polyethylene, cardboard, polyethylene, aluminum, adhesion promoter and polyethylene from the outside inwards. The removal opening is located directly in the top of the box and is sealed with an adhesive seal. A disadvantage of this embodiment, however, is the problematic disposal that results from the different composite materials. On the other hand, once opened, the package tends to dry out the towels undesirably quickly, since only the adhesive film of the closure flap covering the torn perforation, which defines the removal opening, serves as separation or insulation between the box interior and the outside world.

In a second embodiment of the known folding box, an inner body in the form of a tubular bag made of a plastic film is provided. The folding box itself is made of cardboard. Since in this embodiment the access to the remaining wipes becomes more and more difficult when the tubular bag is emptied, the tubular bag is firmly glued to the folding box in the area around the removal opening. However, this means that there is practically direct access from the inside of the tubular bag to the surroundings. It is therefore to be expected that the towels will dry out faster in this embodiment as well.

Another disadvantage of this embodiment is that disposal problems also occur due to the gluing of the plastic bag and cardboard box. In addition, the production of such a packaging is complicated and technically complex, since at the same time the cloths have to be packed in the same during the production of the tubular bag, with the tubular bag and the folding box having to be glued together immediately thereafter.

Finally, a good handling of such packaging is not necessarily guaranteed to the end, because the fact that the user has to reach deeper into the tubular bag for each cloth, it is not excluded that due to mechanical overload, that is to say that when removing the with the top of the folded carton is permanently pressed down, the tubular bag detaches from the carton, making access to the towels even more difficult.

The invention is therefore based on the object of designing a folding box of the type mentioned in such a way that both its manufacture and its handling and disposal are facilitated.

The invention solves this problem with the aid of the features of patent claim 1.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

The fact that the inner body of the folding box is a soft tray insert, which is made, for example, by deep drawing from an environmentally compatible plastic film, but the folding box consists of a simple carton, makes the disposal of the emptied package much less problematic than that of the known folding boxes. Even the consumer can easily separate the waste according to the cardboard and plastic content, so that the plastic content can be reused if necessary, while the cardboard content is thrown into the waste paper container and is therefore also reused. The soft tray insert rests in the folding box. The relative inherent rigidity of the soft tray insert alone ensures that the opening in the cover of the soft tray insert is still easily accessible even when only a few wipes are left in the packaging.

In addition, the manufacture of the object according to the invention is simpler than that of the folding boxes known from the prior art. The cardboard folding box and the soft tray insert can be manufactured separately from each other, whereby the soft tray insert including the lid and filling can be completely manufactured. It then only needs to be inserted into the prefabricated folding box, which is then closed.

Characterized in that not only the actual removal opening in the lid of the soft trough insert is closed with the tongue-shaped flap, but also the folding box itself by the hinged surface in the top, the flap thus created with its front end, for example, in a slit-shaped opening on the front of the Foldable box can be inserted and thus locked, the speed of drying out of the towels is already reduced.

According to the feature of claim 2, the inner body is stabilized due to the flange-like edge formation, which in particular accommodates a problem-free removal.

In connection with the feature of claim 3, this particular embodiment of the inner body edge has the further advantage that the inner body can rest securely and practically immovably on the support edge formed by the folding box edges. But even if the flange-like edge is glued to the support surface to prevent the inner body from slipping even more securely, unproblematic disposal is still ensured, since the adhesive surface is relatively small, which makes it easy to separate the inner body and the folded box is.

As a result of these designs, the actual trough body does not have to consist of a thick, rigid plastic film, but can be made of a relatively thin-walled film that is easier to dispose of.

In order to further increase the manageability of the folding box according to the invention, in particular to prevent the wet wipes from drying out prematurely during the storage period of the folding box, claim 4 proposes that an insert sheet is provided between the filling material and the underside of the inner body lid, which overlaps the removal opening . This insert sheet can be arranged loosely in the inner body. After the first opening of the packaging, it is removed from the packaging before the first wet wipe is removed.

However, it is also possible to leave the insert permanently or permanently in the inner body. However, this presupposes, according to claim 6, that a smaller punching is provided in the insertion opening in the area of the removal opening. In view of the above, it is of course more advantageous if this insert sheet on the lid of the Inner body is attached so that the remaining wet wipes are still easily accessible.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the edge of the smaller punched-out area is provided with punching lines which point radially away from the edge and end in front of the edge of the removal opening.

These punching lines have the advantage when using the folding box that the insert yields when the package is opened, since the edge is now much more flexible. In this way, the towels can be removed much easier. In addition, the notched edge in this way forms a guide for the removal of the wipes, so that contact of the wet wipes with adhesive spots on the label and film is avoided.

According to the feature of claim 8, the punching is formed by a line of perforations. In this way it is possible to keep not only the box itself, but also the soft tray insert practically liquid-tight, until the folding box is used for the first time. After the folding box has been opened for the first time, the cut-out along the perforation line is separated from the insert sheet.

According to claim 9, the insert sheet is advantageously a plastic film, e.g. a PE film.

The insert sheet has the additional advantage that no moisture, for example water, but also oil can get into the area of the perforation defining the removal opening during the storage time of the folding box. Thus, premature drying of the content or softening and unsightly appearance of the folding box is practically impossible.

The folding box according to the invention is advantageously combined with the features of claim 10, which are already known per se from European patent application 89 117205.8. The advantages of such a closure for the removal opening result from this application.

The invention is illustrated and described in more detail below with the aid of several embodiments.

In the figures, the folding box according to the invention is generally provided with the reference number 1. It consists of a rectangular container 2 made of cardboard. The container is composed of a bottom surface 3, ascending side walls 4, 5, 6 and 7 and a cover surface 8, which is folded over and glued over the front side surface 7. A rectangular perforation 9 is provided in the cover surface 8 and continues trapezoidally on the front side surface 7. The trapezoidal part 10 is not glued to the side surface 7, so that this part can be torn open along the perforation and then further along the parallel perforation lines 11 and 12. This results in a flap, the front tapered part 13 of which forms a flap which can be inserted into a corresponding slot 14 in the front side wall 7.

As can be seen from FIG. 2, the side surfaces 4 and 6 are configured as follows: along the edge 15, the cardboard is folded inwards by an angle of 90 ° and continues along the edge 16 to the bottom 3 of the container 2, so that it lies below the cover surface 8 each gives a support surface 17 which is supported by the folding legs 4 and 18 on the bottom 3. An inner body 19, which consists of an integral trough-shaped part 20 and a cover 21, rests on the support surfaces 17 within the folding box 1. The upper edge of the trough-shaped part 20 is bent horizontally, so that there is a flange-like edge 22 on which the cover 21 is attached (glued, welded).

In addition to FIGS. 1 and 2, FIG. 3 shows the removal opening 23, which is defined by the perforation line 24 in the cover 21. The perforation line 24 is not self-contained, but is designed in the form of a U, the free legs 25 and 26 of which run inward in an arc shape. This removal opening 23 is overlapped by a tab 27 which is firmly connected to the U-shaped removal opening closure and is self-adhesive but releasably adheres to the lid area surrounding the removal opening 23. The tab 27 is fixedly connected to the lid 21 of the inner body 19 in the region of the curved U-leg ends 25 and 25, e.g. by gluing, welding etc.

FIG. 4 shows the folding box according to FIG. 3, which, however, is torn open along the perforation lines 11 and 12 in this exemplary embodiment, so that a hinged lid 28 results. After pulling up the flap 28, the closure of the removal opening 23 is accessible. As soon as the tab 27 is lifted off the cover 21, the perforation 24 tears up to the arcuate ends 25 and 26. After a cloth has been removed, the flap 27 is glued again to the cover 21, the part of the cover 21 torn along the perforation line 24 again lying precisely in the removal opening 23. Then the flap 28 is folded down and the trapezoidal tapered end 13 of this flap is inserted into the slot 14, so that there is a reliable closure of the folding box.

The embodiment according to FIG. 5 differs from the previously discussed exemplary embodiments in that an insert sheet 29 is provided in the inner body 19 between the filler material and the cover 21 in the region of the removal opening 23. This insert sheet is preferably a plastic film which is removed after the first opening of the package and which is only the The task is to protect the contents of the folding box from drying out during long storage periods.

Another embodiment of the invention is shown in FIG. 6, in which an insert sheet 29 'is also provided. In contrast to the embodiment according to FIG. 5, this insert sheet has an oval punch-out 30 concentric with the removal opening 23, so that this insert sheet 29 'can remain in the package even during use of the folding box. So that with increasing emptying of the inner body the level of the punching and thus the actual removal opening 30 does not drop and it is practically no longer possible to remove the last wipes, it can be provided that the insert sheet 29 'is glued to the underside of the cover 21.

FIG. 7 shows the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 6 with the flap 28 open.

The removal opening 23 itself is closed in the illustration by a punch cut 31, which adheres to the tab 27 when it is pulled open and is separated from the cover 21.

FIG. 9 differs from FIG. 8 in that an insert sheet 29 made of plastic is provided between the stack of wet wipes 32 and the cover 21.

A similar structure results from FIG. 10, in which the insert sheet is provided with the reference symbol 29 ', since it differs from the insert sheet 29 in that a punched-out portion 30 is provided concentrically with the removal opening 23.

Another embodiment of the invention is shown in FIG. 11. Here, too, the folding box is shown with the flap 28 open. The punch cut 31 is also torn open, so that the removal opening 23 is free. As in FIG. 6, an insert sheet 29 'is inserted here, which has an oval punched-out 30. In contrast to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 6, punched lines 41 extend radially outward from the edge 40 in this punched-out 30. These punch lines give when using the pack, i.e. after intervention in the pack, so that the wipes can be removed much easier. When the wipes are removed, the indented, more flexible edge 40 forms a guide or a protection, so that contact of the wet wipes with adhesive spots on the label and film is avoided.

FIG. 12 shows the folding box 1 according to FIG. 11 in the closed state. In this state, the punch 30 is still closed. The edge 40 of this punch 30 is still formed by a perforation line. The punched out along the perforation line 40 is only removed after the folding box 1 has been opened for the first time. This configuration prevents the emergence of contents, in particular oil, before the first opening. This leakage is particularly to be feared in the event of improper storage.
