Das Zurichten solcher eine unregelmässige Form aufweisender Bodenbelagsteile kann nun üblicherweise nicht auf der zu belegenden Fläche erfolgen, da sie dafür viel zu klein ist. Insbesondere beim Zurichten von Teilen für das Belegen von Treppenstufen können diese Teile nicht auf der Treppe selber sondern eventuell auf einem zwischen einzelnen Treppenabschnitten befindlichen Zwischenabsatz oder nur am Ende der Treppe in die nötige Form geschnitten werden. Zu diesem Zweck wird der Umriss der zu belegenden Fläche durch das Übertragen aller Masse auf ein Papier aufgezeichnet oder es wird ein Papier auf die zu belegende Fläche gelegt und dann wird die Grösse der zu belegenden Fläche aus dem Papier ausgeschnitten, damit nachher am Ende der Treppe mit Hilfe der so hergestellten Schablone diejenigen Bodenbelagsteile zugerüstet werden können, die eine unreglmässige Form aufweisen.
